Veskall Posted September 27, 2022 Posted September 27, 2022 Hey All! I know that the "Best brute build for fire farms" has been done to death. I was interested in trying to find a cheap build for a Rad/Fire toon. I've been able to find cheap variants for Spines/Fire but nothing for Rad/Fire. The goal is to be able to still clear +4x8 fire maps, albeit slow, but still capping Def/Res needed for a fire farm. Realistically as cheap as possible would be a fun goal, but even under 200-300m would be a great start. Thanks for any input friends!

Veskall Posted September 27, 2022 Author Posted September 27, 2022 While true this helps get to this point, I'm looking for a build that reaches 45% defense and 90% res as cheap as possible. The idea is to have a build that can comfortably push you towards your end build. Also, I was looking for a Rad/Fire build.. I will say this guide has a ton of useful information in it though. So thank you for linking this.
Outrider_01 Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 Forcus on 45% defense, as fire resit os easy to come by. I think a brute ends up with about 75-80% native resist with enhancement in the toggles and the passive so the last bit is easy to get via cheap IO sets even if 1.5% or 2 of the winter travel set 2.5% "Farming is just more fun in my opinion, beating up hordes of angry cosplayers...." - Coyotedancer
Meknomancer Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 I don't know if its cheap, it doesn't look that cheap but its possible with no purples/winter/At sets. Still needs a couple pvp pieces and you'd have to play actively it won't be much good afk. I'm not a mini maxer so theres probably tons of room for improvements but it just shows how easy it is to hit 45% fire def and 90% fire res This Villain build was built using Mids Reborn 3.4.5https://github.com/LoadedCamel/MidsReborn Level 49 Mutation Brute Primary Power Set: Radiation Melee Secondary Power Set: Fiery Aura Power Pool: Leaping Power Pool: Leadership Power Pool: Fighting Power Pool: Speed Ancillary Pool: Mu Mastery Villain Profile: ------------ Level 1: Radioactive Smash (A) Mocking Beratement - This may not be an ideal thing to say for you but your wants may not exactly match the reality of fire farming, especially post Page 4's update. You're going to need to either spend some time investing in the IO's for the more ideal build you need per effective builds post page 4 that folks have put out..... or you're going to going to have to just make other considerations. I also have to say that likely the "cheap builds" you're speaking of for spines/fire are for pre-Page 4 considerations as well. Yes, its a bit of a catch 22 but its also not hard to run lots of TF's to get merits for IO's/recipes and then to join other farms when they call for hitters to help get your some farming under your belt to boot. Its not insurmountable but just takes perhaps a little bit of time. A guy for example the other week on Excelsior had a rad/fire build set up and accolades, and 3 of his incarnates to tier 4 in less than a week. Granted he was playing all day due to being on vacation he said but it should perhaps help you see its doable. You just have to farm slower and incrementally higher as you get better kitted out. 1
Without_Pause Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 Also, my first farmers didn't have capped Fire Def. I just used purples as needed. I've made three farmers across live and HC, and in all honestly, I would likely pull up the auction house 99 times for every time I farmed. I vastly only farm to dual box these days. 1 Top 10 Most Fun 50s. 1. Without Mercy: Claws/ea Scrapper. 2. Outsmart: Fort 3. Sneakers: Stj/ea Stalker. 4. Emma Strange: Ill/dark Controller. 5. Digirium Posted October 2, 2022 Posted October 2, 2022 Duh! Being honest, skip the "cheap build" and instead focus on your "end build" for a farmer. Play a main character, earn reward merits, rinse repeat and get to around 3,000 RMs. Use those to buy the winter and purple sets your "end build" needs from the merit vendor. Use the 300M Inf to fill out the remainder of the build. Notes for "end build": 90% fire resist, 45% fire defence AND good hit point per second regeneration (35+/sec). Further note: come up with your own distinctive build instead of "monkey see, monkey do" copying of other builds.
