I agree! Especially getting three of them aggroed on my Ice Tank at once. You'd think an ice tank could handle not getting Knocked about, but 3 singularitys at once makes it almost impossible to get off an attack. I felt like I was inside an Orville Reddenbacher Popcorn popper. They are boss level but have Elite in the name. My vote for worst boss.

I'm casting my vote for Master Illusionists. They are designed to literally just be as annoying as possible. Summon Dark Servants to floor your tohit, summon 3 more Illusionists so they can stack Blind and hold Tankers, and phase (even when mezzed) because screw you I guess. That's not challenging, just frustrating.

Mainly on Excelsior. Find me in game @Spaghetti Betty.

The only attack Illusionist decoys have is Spectral Wounds.  They can't mez anything.  And they can't Phase if they're mezzed.  Neither can the MIs, or the standard Illusionists.

 

And after consideration, I'm going to have to add Council Ascendants to my list.  15s Detention Field plus PFF?  Asshole design.

Maybe my eyes were just playing tricks on me, but I've experienced MIs phase even while mezzed. And the pet Illusionists not being ale to Blind was lost on me. They blend into a mob nicely. Thanks.

Their Phase Shift power is flagged Cancel when Held/Slept/Stunned.  They can't activate it when they're mezzed, and if a mez is activated before the Phase, but they're in the process of Phasing when the mez lands, the Phase is shut off (sequencing rules for combat give priority to whatever was activated first, even if it has a slower animation).  If you take care of the Dark Servant quickly and mez the MI, they're easy XP.

 

The real Carnie threat to tanks is the standard Illusionists.  Three can spawn in a group, each with both Blind (mag 3 with a 20% chance for +1) and Flash (mag 3), potentially stacking mag 21 Hold on the tank.  Toggles go down and the tank takes a trip to Ouchie Town.

 

Also happens with multiple Malta Gunslingers.

My earlier post about them stands but that was from a solo standpoint.  When we Nukems are too drunk, especially if Beer (not the drink but the player) is with us, we will do Carnies over and over and the MIs are brutal but we also tend to run a little Control/Dom heavy so the moment the MIs are out of phase they are locked and never go back into phase until dead.  Now their spawned buddies, well there is a badge for that so bonus.

 

Solo as a Blaster (my dominant AT) I get murdelized.
