biostem Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 Perhaps this has already been answered, but if I use a power like aim or buildup, then drop something like caltrops or some other power that persists for a while at a given location, does it retain the boosted damage/tohit for its entire duration, or only for the few seconds that said powers were in effect? Thanks!
Hedgefund Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 You can check case by case on the CoD2 site, see https://cod.uberguy.net./html/power.html?power=blaster_ranged.fire_blast.rain_of_fire&at=blaster has a flag that says "boosts are copied to entity" meaning that Rain of Fire does get boosts from BU. 1 1

Thanks for the info, but does that also mean that it only gains the benefit for the duration of BU, or as long as said entity exists. Thanks again!

Thanks again! i am guessing (not researching/testing) that as long as you BU and RoF then ALL the RoF is considered boosted. otherwise ice would be even more screwed than it is. 1
MoonSheep Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 why not test it on beta? If you're not dying you're not living
Frozen Burn Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 Forcefielders have long used Power Build Up to boost bubbles - the boosted defense lasts the full duration of the 2 minute bubble. I use BU or Aim on my Ice blaster with Ice Storm and the boosted damage effect lasts the entire duration of the rain power. 2
Doomguide2005 Posted December 26, 2023 Posted December 26, 2023 And to be clear the order matters as far as I know. BU then RoF you'll see the increase for the DoTs duration. But RoF then hit BU you won't see a change in the DoT of the attack. 1
