At work I've been messing around with the Image Creator in Microsoft's Bing, since I don't have access to my Stable Diffusion home setup.  I've been very pleased with the results I've been getting.

 

The core prompt I've been using is

cel shaded, style of artstation, city of heroes, background constrained in a circle, superhero

followed by more specific instructions.

 

For example, for my brute Crimson Panda:

cel shaded, style of artstation, city of heroes, background constrained in a circle, superhero, NO CAPE, small human Chinese woman, dressed in a burgundy uniform with white trim, wearing black knee length boots, with a bright crimson fox tail, with bright crimson panda ears, wearing a burgundy mask, martial arts, leaping through the air

yielded

 

which is pretty spot-on, with the exception of it trying to add extra tails.

 

A similar prompt, but excluding NO CAPE, and adding desaturated blue and white uniform, caucasian woman, wavy blonde hair, white star insignia, smiling, blue energy crackling ended up resulting in stuff like...

...which actually led to me running to Icon and changing my outfit ASAP!

I tried your prompt in Bing, but it complained about inappropriate content.  When I Frankensteined it with my standard "comic book" type prompt, I got...

 

 

I had to iterate a couple times, because the dang thing liked to skip the skirt - or else we got "too-many-fingers-itis".  I do like the results.  Is it my imagination or did it try to include a watermark there in the bottom left?

I rolled the Bing Image creator a lot, more than I care to admit! Using this prompt: cel shaded, style of artstation, city of heroes, plain background, no cape, white female, long ruby red hair, black fox ears with red tuft, wearing black-tinted red-framed round glasses, spiked collar, black long-sleeved shirt with a red tie, red pants with black tiger stripes, combat boots, black cat tail

 

Honestly, it got really close on some of the rolls! Here are a few of my favorites.

I've done a bit of tooling with Bing over the last few months, and played around with Pilot's preview to try and teach it how to create dragon-kin type characters without making them anthropomorphic. I'd copy and paste the prompts that led to these results but the conversation gives a way too much details about the tirikan characters I and my husband both play and I'd like to keep that private for roleplay player canon reasons. But these two, were the best results of the discussion that guided the AI in relation to the tirikan and what the males may look like.

Last night I did a bunch on Bing AI, toward the end I just typed in “make a superhero” just to see what it would make. It generated this long paragraph describing the scene, then proceeded to render, finally coming back with words to the effect of “cannot generate image because one or more words violated our TOS”.

 

I was like, hey *I* didn’t violate the TOS, you dumb algorithm, *you* violated it! I tried several variations, like “make a Golden Age superhero” or “make a pulp magazine superhero”, with the same results. Then I went with “make a cool spaceship” and had the same issue over and over. Finally closed the window and started from scratch and it worked again. It was acting super weird.

 

It would be helpful if they told you which words are verboten.

I believe the word Superhero was jointly trademarked, or whatever it's called, by Marvel and DC many moons ago.

That wouldn't explain why sometimes it worked and sometimes not. It's real black box stuff at this point.

I just used the prompt Marshal General used above, except changing "beautiful female" to "handsome male" -- COMPLETELY FORGETTING to change "red skirt" 😂 -- and these are the three Bing made. The first two with the nipples and quasi-Superman diamond are amusing, but the last one was actually pretty good.

So, darn you all!!  This thread inspired me to try some AI images and I've wasted about 8 hours today trying to come up with something for one of my favorite toons.  😄   

 

Using CivitAI... here are some of what I got for my Archery/Devices/Munitions Blaster... Techno-Bunny.  She's a former Paragon Playmate of the Year turned superhero (rich with lots of tech, gadgets, and toys).

 

 

Thanks for some of your prompts - they helped me kick things off!  

 

I typed in MANY variations of:  detailed, hyper photo-realistic, beautiful busty full body female superhero, wearing a black Playboy Bunny costume, brown hair, eye mask, metal shoulder pads, computerized gauntlets, flying through sky, holding archery bow and arrow, surrounded by flying gun-drones.

 

Unfortunately, the AI had no model for bow and arrow, archery, quiver of arrows, backpack of arrows, fistful of arrows, shooting, drawing, holding, firing.... all just made a mess of strings and random lines across the image.  So eventually had to do away with it.  😞  Also, it had no idea what Rocket boots were, or boots with rockets, jet-propelled boots, boots with jets, etc.  Also, trying to get specific coloring on the shoulder pads, gauntlets, mask, and boots didn't work - it would change the entire costume's color. 

 

I tried many other free generators to find one that would at least put a bow in her hand (and not a ribbon tied in a knot like some images came out - had to specify "archery" HA!)... but none would take the prompt.  Even removing the words Busty, Playboy, full body, gun-drone, bow and arrow... they all wouldn't take the text saying it was inappropriate.  DOH!  🤪So, CivitAI was the only one that would get me this far.  

 

Oh well.... These are some the best out of the 500 i generated today.  lol  🙂  While not what I want, I think they're still cool....

Damn you!  Damn you all for introducing me to this!  I've wasted my entire weekend playing around in an AI Image generator! 😄   

 

Here's another I tried to recreate.... Titan Weapon/WP Brute:  Peace'blossom.  (A hero take on the actual fairy name "Peaseblossom.")  She's a tiny tiny fairy with a giant Titan Weapon sword.  (So hilarious to play.)

 

 

Unfortunately, the AI generator doesn't know what a Titan weapon is.  Massive, gigantic, sword that is larger than she is - every description I could think of would not work.  I settled on "holding a massive and gigantic sword," and tried to find different base models to help support it. 

 

It also didn't seem to know what fairy dust is.  lol

Neither truly conventional artwork nor pure AI art, but rather an unholy spawn of feeding a colored line-art through Nightcafe's creator multiple times tweaking the prompts, collaging the "best" results into one, then repeating the process until mostly satisfied with the results. Say hello to Engine Jean, one of my mains back when I started playing CoH when it went F2P:

 

 

Originally, back when she was first created, her inspiration was this piece of Samus Aran fan-art by WillMangin (back then, "Beemer"): https://www.deviantart.com/willmangin/art/samus-aran-14577139 . Somehow, it hit me she'd look really cool in a blue and purple colour scheme, roughly like this: https://imgur.com/iYsTo5b  (I'm not sure where the original recolor is now, this is a quick recreation)

I've now put this recreated recolor through Nightcafe's generator with... many tweaked prompts ( some of the literally dozens of takes: https://imgur.com/NAajFF3, https://imgur.com/yEphbcc, https://imgur.com/1NmuvzF )  and collaged some of the preferred results into this rough result: https://imgur.com/Vv7GGqd  followed by a bunch more retries using it as the base image ( a few of - again - dozens: https://imgur.com/4PZOrDE, https://imgur.com/cshHHUy, https://imgur.com/8vtz6wq ). The headphones, violet hair and strap-like details on her top were things the AI introduced into the mix but I liked well enough to keep.

She has 10 different costumes, but attempted to recreate the 3 main ones using various styles....

So I monkeyed around in Leonardo (AI Art Generator - Create Art, Images & More | Leonardo AI) with this, and it seemed like the best way to get what you were looking for was to just get a screenshot and upload that as guide. So I recreated Peace Blossom in game, took a few screenshots, erased the background... and got garbage. Googled "magical forest" and grabbed a likely scene, pasted the cut-out fairy onto it, tweaked it a couple times, and finally got this after 2-1/2 hours.

 

Might've been quicker to learn how to draw. 😛

I've been using CavitAI.  It's the only only one I've found so far that is truly free and not very restrictive.  I'll check out Leaonardo.

Tried a prompt on Microsoft's creator for Doctor Orangutan.  Some came out looking like an orange Hulk, but some turned out very nice!
