Kheldian Build Recipes: Let's HEAT up the Dinner!

Would people be interested in me making a thread for those who wish to, to post their builds? I know there are builds dotted about all over the place but they slide down and get lost. I can pin the thread so it always stays at the top, plus people can post and edit if they change their build after constructive criticism from other players. There is of course no obligation to post, and rude and unpleasant replies will be removed, but for the most part I've noticed players tend to be very kind and helpful.

I don't think that is a bad idea at all. Consolidating recent, working builds into one thread that can be shared with one link will create a strong beacon to steer toward for new and old players alike.

And if build posters were kind enough to include some details about their build, like expensive vs. budget, playstyle, certain skill choices, all the better, let's do it!

In that case here is the current build I am using ❤️ I have taken a lot of the Teleport pool powers due to enjoying how they work and character backstory 😄

I currently use this build for everything I do, herding for Hamis, 4 star content, Incarnate trials, Costume Contests...

I second Dungeoness' suggestion to post recent, working builds, with some details. Here are my kheldians:

- Bi-form human/dwarf warshade.

- 0% defense peacebringer.

Some remarks:

- the warshade build is expensive, the peacebringer relatively cheap.

- they are both end game builds, not leveling builds.

- they both start with AoEs to clear the mobs and finish with ST attacks to clear the bosses.

- boss phase: the warshade relies on inky+gravitic emanation to perma-stun them.

- boss phase: the peacebringer relies on good heals in general, plus Melee Core against Master Illusionists and Ageless Epiphany against Mu Guardians.

Skill choices:

- Unchain essence is good damage and its stun stacks with inky, which I always keep on. Use binds for quick corpse targeting.

- Gravitic emanation is slotted for perma-stunning bosses, which is essential, rather than for damage, which is not needed.

- Quantum flight and Nebulous form are very useful. For instance, they can be used to deal with ambushes or to corner pull. The PB can use quantum flight to wait while endurance refills. That is against two Mu Guardians when ageless radial is on cooldown.

This build isn't trying to do any one thing to perfection, rather it is trying to be excellent in a variety of things. The power picks were used in the same order while leveling, Enhancements were slightly different during leveling (obviously) with the only major difference being I used a Kismet +ToHit in Shadow Cloak. It primarily relies on Human and Dwarf forms, with a switch to Nova for rapid-firing ranged attacks and steadier Endurance management.

My design intents:

  • Reliable %proc damage (off-type, where possible) in AoE
  • Passive (i.e. from Enhancement set) bonuses to Global Recharge, Accuracy, and Resistances
  • Recovery/Endurance and +Heal
  • Don't take attacks I wouldn't use... and not have any unslotted attacks.
  • Have the build "complete" by level 35... that is, all the powers I want to use across all content are available by this point. I don't mind falling in battle... I invite it... but even so Stygian Return isn't used all that often so this build feels "finished" for me by level 32.

I passed on trying to boost Defense values (it felt like a losing proposition). The build has a large Psi hole (when Eclipse isn't in play). I try to skip Hasten (and did here) but it would not be hard to work it into the build if desired. All I will say about Hasten (here) is that I have so many other clicks to make in Human form... and since I rely on Dwarf form for mezz protection (and some good damage)...  I kinda feel like my combat cycle is pretty close to what I need. For most play, the one power I want up more often is Shadow Slip!

Here are the builds for my PB and WS. Both are post 50 builds.

Light of the World - Peacebringer (Luminous Blast - Luminous Aura)final.mbdwar bandit final.mbd

The PB is pretty simple to play, it has such a high recharge rate that light form is permanent. plus lots of KB to KD so it's not irritating the crap out of the team tank by spreading their carefully herded mobs across the landscape 🙂 I tend to mostly play as Nova, swapping to Dwarf when I'm feeling a bit vulnerable.

The WS is my main though. Teleport into the mob in dwarf and take the alpha strike,  go human and cast shadow slip, eclipse and mire and any other soul sucking powers you like as needed, dwarf, mire again, human and Quasar, then dwarf to mop up the stragglers. If you die then stygian return as long as there is at least one enemy in range. With the slotting I have it's got a nice fast recharge and is an excellent rez power.

PB's tend to be quite self sufficient as they don't need a large number of enemies round them to be powerful. WS are the opposite. The more enemies you can leech off the more powerful you become. The two mires are classed as separate powers so stack with each other. I'd say the PB holds the edge for power in a one to one confrontation, but the WS shines in teams or higher difficulty settings. That's not to say the WS is considerably weaker than a PB, I can tank an EB with my dwarf quite happily.

Like every post 50 build I couldn't tell you how much it cost. I've done endless respecs and swapped the enhancements to try to make them better. It's expensive, but no more expensive than any other AT build.

Anyone have an all human, perma light form PB that they are particularly proud of?

Edit: Apologies I attached my bi-form PB build instead of human form. While avoiding any dip into dwarf form on a PB is much more playable than WS, I'd still find it hard to make myself play at this point. Will have to dig around my build vault to find my real human build. Renamed my bi-form build and reuploaded for posterity.

- Medianly expensive but not the worst out there.

- Slotted for a few extra hp bonuses, enough recharge for perma Light Form, a cursory buffer of defense, plugging the Psi hole, and slow debuff resistance.

- Using the best skills from dwarf without a lot of slot or power bloat.

This is what I was sorta looking for - I've been trying to adapt the MFing WS but not sure how many of the IOs mentioned are less "optimal" now than they were. I think Gambler was used a lot, but I'm trying to wiggle my way into a true triform WS.

The Fighting pool is commonly used to get Tough and Weave... adding Cross Punch isn't a terrible choice if a player wants more Melee AoE on their build once they've committed to those other powers... for Kheldians this would be more about having Human form melee attacks. My guess is that this wouldn't be a bad choice for a human-only PB, and maybe a bi-form WS... I have trouble imagining a WS without the Dwarf form at all, but that's my limited imagination.

Writing only for myself: While I have at least one character with a full suite of the Fighting pool, that was 85% for flavor and 15% for wanting another fast-cycling Melee AoE attack. I typically have a hard time finding enough slots for multiple Power Pool choices... often two pool powers get the full 6-slots... and since multi-form Kheldians will already have so many attacks I'm thinking a Fighting pool set of choices is adding some of the "missing" attack options to the Khelds, along with powers to boost inherent survivability.

An earlier version of the game (and on Homecoming) rather highly prioritized S/L resistance in a way that doesn't precisely matter any more, so Tough was something of a no-brainer for a LOT of "tanky" builds. S/L attacks are still a thing of course, it's just that over the course of several pages it no longer helps as much to have the S/L resistances over the cap. I suppose if the Dwarf form is not taken, Tough is good place to add some mule slots. Most of my characters that end up with Tough almost never toggle it on.

Cross Punch is also another place for the Forced Feedback +Recharge Proc, so in a Base Form build it also has that utility. I would love that type of power as an option in the Luminous Blast powerset (looks at Power Crash longingly), but if it was there it would probably be KB instead of KD which would make for another Sudden Acceleration I would have to slot, lol!

Fully agree on Tough. It was an extra place to drop a few Uniques. I usually do not have it in a tray, either, especially once I get Light Form fully up and running.

Referenced a similar move from another Energy/Smashing based powerset.

Mostly on Torchbearer, but if you ever see me on, feel free to say hello!

Astral.Kai - Peacebringer; Dark.Enforcer - Dark/Shield Scrapper; Spark.Enforcer - Electrical/Shield Scrapper; Shadow.Reign - Dark/Regen Brute;

Glitter - Warshade;

And others to be added as I get them up to snuff, lol!

I haven't respec'd into this build yet. It's heavily proc'd low res low def build, but I have good survivability with my current build which has 24% defense. Dropping defense down to 17% in exchange for a lot more attack slots and trading Maneuvers for Dark Extraction was the result.

I took a lot of sets with accuracy and recharge bonuses. Recharge to keep Eclipse up, Accuracy to compensate for my powers which are proc'd out.

I'm following the philosophy of the infamous MFing Warshade. I constantly pull all the aggro I can, buff up, and nuke them away with Quasar and Judgment Void. Any who survive get Shadow Slipped, then bombarded with Dwarf Mire to power up Nova AoEs, rinse and repeat every 10 seconds until they're all dead or we're down to EBs and AVs, in which case I pull them into a new group and start the process all over. For long fights with AVs, I'm using Gravity Well combined with Dwarf Drain and Dwarf Smite, Quasar when it's up.

I haven't done this respec, so I haven't play tested it. I'm excited to use Gravitic Emanation combined with Inky Aspect to stun bosses. And I'm giving Dark Extraction a second chance since I found the resistance pet bonuses. I had a problem with how fragile the little farts can be, and the fact the enemies despawn while I'm summoning them so the cast missed often. With Gravity Well slotted with Hecatomb, I should we able to finish off enemies and be in range to summon Extractions rather than try to catch up to them from ranged nova attacks.

I slotted Orbiting Death for knockdown because I can use all the help I can get to avoid damage in human form, even with 85% resist. With three slots Mids says it can do a bit more damage, but I mostly three slotted it to get the endurance discount.

Dwarf Drain, Dwarf Smite and Dwarf Mire are set to do obscene amounts of damage. I'm excited for that.

It's a bit of a Glass Cannon build, but my playstyle tends to sheepdog for the Brutes and Tanks. I've tanked with plenty of AVs with teams in Dwarf form - Dark Sustenance and team buffs make it viable. My current build is in my thread above, but it's a bit of a mess with 18 slots of LotG and two slotted dwarf attacks, which is why I asked for help to fix it.

This build should be a major improvement. I look forward to respec'ing, but I'd like some feedback before I full the trigger and spend millions on IOs.

Ok.  I do not know how to export Mids files anymore.

If you just save the build to a file on your PC from the file menu, you can then attach it to your post here. Don't use the export feature.

So here's my most up-to-date build for my Shade, always a work in progress, which I'll have to look at since it's been awhile. I still have my Human-Only build somewhere around here, I'll have to look or save it from the game, it's resists were comparable to my dwarf.

Anyways, this is what works for me: Combat port into a mob for that lil extra tohit, Shadow Slip, Eclipse, double Mire followed by Quasar. I might hit Dark Extraction to find the nearest body and use the same to setoff Unchain Essence before hitting Stygian Circle as needed.

[Current Tri-form Warshade build]

Bit of an all-rounder; but more emphasis on survivable damage dealing via Eclipse + Mire + Nova Form shenanigans.
+ Perma Hasten.
+ Perma Eclipse with resistance capping out after 4-5 foes.
+ Whilst in Nova Form, all of its attacks can hit the damage cap with just a single mire; so little if any need to enter Dwarf Form when DPS-ing large mobs of foes (100% base +112.5% from 10 foes in Mire range + 24% from Set Bonuses and Assault Radial + 45% from Nova Form itself +13.5% from the SKG ATO = 295%; so 105% damage slotting required in the power itself needed to hit the cap. Ebon Eye has the lowest damage slotting of all the Nova form powers at 112.67% - the rest can hit the cap with just 9 foes in Mire range!)
+ Five "Healing" Procs (3x Power Transfer + Panacea + the Essence Transfer ATO)
+ Gravitic Emanation slotted with Stun Duration and Damage Procs just for funsies.
+ Clarion for Mez protection + Banished Pantheon Lore pets since Carnies aren't needed to hit the damage cap.

It can technically hit the Defense softcap if you leverage Vengeance and Incarnate Clickies, but I wouldn't bother.

[Current Peacebringer Bi-form builds]

Human/Dwarf obviously, with Two flavours. One is a "utility option" with Pulsar, TP Target, Tactics and Vengeance... and the other is a "damage option" with Boxing, Kick, Cross Punch and Weave (Weave is just a mule for a LOTG). Personally, I prefer the former.
+ A smidge shy of Perma Hasten, but has Perma Light Form, Perma Inner Light and Perma Essence Boost.
+ KB>KD IO in Human Form Flare. FF Proc in Dwarf Form Flare.
+ Human Form attacks - Solar Flare and Radiant Strike are Proc-bombed for high damage. The rest are are slotted to achieve most of the +Recharge set bonuses, with any remaining slots used for damage procs. Incandescent Strike is both due to the high activation chance of the two 4.5 PPM procs. The Obliteration set in the Cross-Punch build's Dawn Strike can technically be swapped for an Armageddon set if you're OK with lowering Solar Flare's damage a smidge; but the recharge benefit is negligible and Obliteration's other set bonuses are better.
+ Dwarf Form attacks are all Proc bombed.
+ Dwarf Form Flare currently has the two -res Debuff IOs plus a FF Proc (due to the reasoning that one Flare should be for damage and the other for debuffing; and "if you're tanking something then it's likely tough enough that you want it debuffed") but these could be moved to Human Form Flare if you want a better chance for them to activate.

Again, the "utility option" build can hit the Defence softcap if you leverage Vengeance and Incarnate Clickies... and this can be a bit more feasible on a PB because there's less need for Clarion which frees you up to take Barrier (for the +Def and/or allied Rez).

For sure, its a real pita watching build posts get pushed further and further back every time someone asks for a build that we know has already been posted 15 times in the last 4 years and then having to search for a link. Getting a bit tired of seeing 5 players asking for the same combo 1 after another because they cba to do a lil search (not that the search works that well)

  • Tri-Form with heavy emphasis on AoE damage
  • Perma Lightform without Hasten
    • Resistance cap at 85% on all types but Psi (at 80.2% - cap this with a temp power)
  • All knockback melee attacks have been converted to knockDOWN.
  • Exemplars smoothly to any level you'd like

It's fun.  You'll like it.

Nice, that's an interesting one!

I noticed you weren't +5-ing the PVP or Purple IOs (which don't need attuned to keep their set bonuses when exemplaring) so there's a little bit of wiggle room.
Should be able to get 85% Psi resist and raise the damage in some of those Human Form AoEs whilst keeping LF perma without sacrificing much other than a few % of global recharge (example below!).

Hey everyone, do this build instead.

I've honestly been too lazy to +5, so the impact hadn't occurred to me.  With your excellent edit, White Dwarf is approaching max resists without Lightform.  Also, adding a regen, and moving the Absorb into what I always thought were "throwaway" powers is rather humbling.  Those, and other subtle shifts polished up this in a way I hadn't seen for myself.  The damage increase will be palpable. This is really awesome work right here.

Post your builds people! You'll never know what spices are missing from your recipe until another cook tastes it.
