Which sound file(s) would need modification to stop Demon Summoning henchmen from making that obnoxious roar/squeal noise that they randomly make?

 

sound/Ogg/DemonSummoning/DemonLieu_Taunt_01.ogg looks like a likely culprit.  Anything else?  Would just replacing it with a blank OGG file work?

I too have hated the constant roaring of these darn things - it's why i never made a Demon MM.  And still just standing near others with them drives me mad.  So, thankfully, someone early on with Homecoming coming back made silent sound files for them.  I do not know if they are in the modder tool or not, but here they are: 

 

DemonSummoning.zip

 

Just unzip and drop them in your game files:  Homecoming > Data > Sound > Ogg > DemonSummoning

(Create folders as necessary.)

 

The whipcrack sound files are there too.  If you like that sound, then just do not add those files to the folder.  

 

If they aren't in the modder, if someone wants to put them there, go right ahead.

Thank you!  There's nothing on City Modder.  I packaged three different variants of the mod and put them up on City Modder - one that just silences the roar, one that silences the henchmen completely, and one that silences the henchmen and whip attacks completely.

On the city Modder what are you files called so I can find them. Sorry but I looked under demon summoning but it had a devil's choir file only

Vortex's Vibrant verisimilitude of grave grimalkin gnashing

 

Greetings, this does not silence the demons, but it does make them sound like cats 😄

For instance the idle roar sound has been replaced with purring, each demon class is a different cat! 

This started as a joke project then I spent wayyyy to much time and made a complete mod. The only sounds I did not change is the take damage and un-summon

(not going to look for or use sounds of cats being hurt 😞 ) 

 

The in-game idea is that as you summon the Demons to control them, you ensorcell  them into thinking they are cats

 

Try it for fun, or to replace the annoying sounds altogether.

Too funny. Mine giggle like 6 month old infants.

 

For the dismiss, you could use a cat hissing.

For gits & shiggles I looked up cougar sounds and this was the first thing that popped up. Mostly very angry sounds, but about a 1/3 of the way in there was a very playful trilling.|

 

Dislike certain sounds? Silence/Modify specific sounds. Looking for modified whole powerset sfx?
