Without_Pause Posted July 21 Posted July 21 - Of the reliable non-hold AoE control powers, it is the only one which has KB. No, Bonfire don't count. Flashfire is this type of power for Fire Control. - Since the power is ultimately about placing a mob in a specific area, it seems counterintuitive to place a mob on a specific spot, and then KB them. "But you can just slot a KB to KD IO in it." And this strips Gravity from using their ATOs in the typical fashion with how every other control set does. I default to one ATO set for the ST Hold and the other for the non-Hold AoE. This typically means a Gravity Controller is going to miss out on a 5% Ranged Def bonus if they are slotting the KB to KD IO. I have issues with Propel's animation time, but I can skip it and feel little loss in doing so. Wormhole is a signature control from Gravity, and it simply doesn't come across as being even average. 3 Top 10 Most Fun 50s. 1. Without Mercy: Claws/ea Scrapper. 2. Outsmart: Fort 3. arcane Posted July 21 Posted July 21 (edited) Use your ATO sets a little more originally than blanket 6-slotting and plop that Sudden Acceleration in there. Wormhole is way strong as is. You mention it’s the only AoE control with KB but fail to mention that it’s the only AoE control with TP. I’d say those two things balance each other out. I’ll take an AoE TP+Stun+KBtoKD over an AoE Stun any day of the week. Edited July 21 by arcane 1
Luminara Posted July 21 Posted July 21 The KB is what incapacitates bosses long enough to lock them down with another control, and it keeps the Stunned enemies from wandering off before they can be Immobilized. The KB makes it the most effective AoE Stun in the game, even without a KB>KD IO. And Wormhole doesn't aggro (another thing that none of the other Stuns can't tout), so what you miss won't attack and what you hit can't retaliate because it's either Stunned or supine. Gravity controllers need extra Defense like cats need flashlights in their ears. Slot the KB>KD IO, it's more worthwhile than a single-vector Defense bonus. 1 Get busy living... or get busy dying. That's goddamn right.

I have a popmenu for quickly selecting various ways to move around a spawn or fractional spawn, and "Powexeclocation up:max Wormhole" will teleport the group, or as much of it as you grab, straight up over you, where they drop to the ground (and take no damage doing it, which feels wrong, but okay). Occasionally, though, they will have a Wile E. Coyote moment, and fail to realize that they should fall to the ground, and simply remain floating up in the air. It does remove them from the aggro radius, though, so except for 'defeat all' missions, it sidelines the group pretty well when it happens.

SeraphimKensai Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Honestly I don't mind the KB in it as it's a form of mitigation. I like to wormhole mobs into a corner and have singularity bounce them back into the corner. That said I've been on the record for a an ability to swap most KB to KD without having an IO tax. One power though isn't that bad in gravity. And most people typically only slot one of the troller ATO sets, while Overpowering Presence is usually just slot the proc and move on. 1

If you 5-slot Superior Overpowering Presence in Wormhole, you're only losing the 5% E/N defense bonus. Personally, I slot Absolute Amazement in Wormhole and find Superior Overpower Presence to be a pretty crappy ATO. I'll occasionally slot it in the AoE immobilize. Uuniverse

Riverdusk Posted July 23 Posted July 23 I wouldn't mind it being changed to knockdown by default. However, it is one of the easier knockbacks to control as you can choose a destination (into a corner), or you can hover and do the old aim them straight down into the floor trick to limit scatter.
