Octogoat Posted October 17, 2024 Posted October 17, 2024 I only play with petless MMs if a minmaxed sentinel gets into my team I tell them I'm sorry but they gotta go. 1

I mean this would be a fun team. A minmaxed sentinel and a petless MM? Just add a hideless stalker, and an all melee blaster and you're good to go
Thraxen Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 All pet less mm itf coming soon. I would say all whips only but might be too narrow. Can you imagine just the sound effects? I’ve done all beam rifle and it was fun.

Yes on a speed run sometimes lose one or two but in almost everything else /MA is an amazing set to keep the pets alive. Not just /MA. I have plenty of /cold, /dark, and /time combo's where it isn't especially true either. Usually people that complain about how squishy MM pets are I find are trying to play them on a team where they are underleveled and are trying to send their pets against level 54's as a sidekicked level 49. Of course pets trying to fight +7's are going to be squishy, doubly so if you aren't built for it yet. Take that same MM in as a level 50+1 and it is night and day. And I find the problem with speedrun teams are just that the pets can't keep up. Everything is dead by the time they get there. That's a more real issue I find, sometimes even on "normal" teams.

The person forming it up was a Archery/TacArrow Blaster I think. 2 of the 8 of us that showed up were Ninja MM’s. It was then that I realized that a great many MM’s don’t take any of their primary attacks, and as such, hardly anyone out thre realizes that Ninja MM’s are, in fact, Bow users.

Masterminds really need a power that lets us just summon our pets instantly to our side once every 30 seconds.

Yeah, something even with a cooldown to overcome pet pathing problems when traveling distances would be a huge benefit. And would relieve us of the "need" to take Group Fly. No, it's not technically a need, but it's really the only way to keep your pets with you in large outdoor maps when you're searching for the last few enemy groups or that final mission objective glowie. I also feel like the fix to make MM pets all even level in Incarnate content should really be applied to either all MMs or all content once the Alpha slot is unlocked. It plainly doesn't make the AT overpowered, or you'd see iTrial groups actively seeking out all the Mastaerminds they could find. Instead, MMs are still the red headed stepchildren even with the negative level shift removed.
Lusiphur Malache Posted February 17 Posted February 17 I look at petless Masterminds as what are you doing? You have the most best pets under your control, but you choose to hand over your beer and go watch this y'all. Kinda like a tauntless tank, but that don't belong here. I'm working on a concept of a mm with a single pet that would be better than to go petless imo

plainguy Posted Sunday at 05:06 PM Posted Sunday at 05:06 PM The issue with a petless mastermind is the endurance. The high cost of endurance as you level makes this a very difficult build. My builds have all been power leveled to 50 and I pay with mids to get defense capped. I can do 3/8 setting with all my Petless builds. Again excluding certain mob types that are just difficult for most such as carni. The issue might be someone who does min/max builds on a blaster/scrapper/brute/ETC.. They could clear out a mission or a farm in 5 minutes. For me it takes 10 or 12 minutes with a Petless build. Here is the Positive or at least my notion on this build for everyone who has a negative comment. On a ITF if you have 2 or 3 maxed out builds, everyone else is not needed. The extra players are of course helpful in a DPS perspective, but my simple point is that 2 or 3 maxed out players could do this without you, but take longer. I tend to look at players builds in game. I also in an attempt to increase my incarnate abilities for my petless masterminds have run TF on SO builds.. No one had a clue.. No one cared.. No one commented.. If you take the time to look at other players builds you will see or realize my Petless mastemind build can out do many of these build players make because they are NOT a min/max player.. They have no clue about defenses or resistance and could care less.. I have tried to run an ITF on my whips traps.. But my issue I could not out do the resistance or regen of the first 2 AV you encounter ( forget their names atm).. So it was like a stalemate. .I couldn't kill them.. They couldn't kill me. I tried a bunch of temp powers as well. I just could not do it. Analogously, I have Beam rifle build that I literally fell asleep in a mission with mobs attacking me and woke up to them still attacking me.. They just could not kill me. I did ask on torchbearer forum about doing a petless ITF and I basically got shit all over. So that went south.. But Petless builds do work.. I think if they reduced the endurance cost for masterminds, which is the highest in the game. You could level it in game much more easier. I think if they gave you the option for something different instead of pets or less number of pets, this could be an interesting set. As an an example you have ONE more powerful pet instead of 6.. But masterminds have not changed since this game came back.
