Mystoc Posted November 13 Posted November 13 for example, the second I switch to rogue or villain hero event messages will automatically be removed from the event tab even if I had manually edited it before so I can see both hero and villain messages the game just assumes I don't want see hero ones anymore. given how often some people alignment switch at gull this can get annoying to deal with and if you forget to add it back in you will then miss out on some events you might have wanted to take part of. Rogues/Vigs can even visit both sides so removing event messages automatedly for them makes even less compared to doing it for a pure villain/hero which I can sort of understand, but given how fast we can switch sides I don't think it should be done at all anymore. 7
Ukase Posted November 14 Posted November 14 I approve this message. As if it mattered whether I approved it or not, lol. 1 1

I figured most people would be fine with this very few if anyone would like the game editing your chat preferences without even prompting you its very easy to miss that a zone event was removed till you see LFG teams for GM and realize you aren't seeing that in your chat logs.
Psyonico Posted November 14 Posted November 14 My only concern is that people who switch from hero to villain wouldn't automatically have villain events added. And might still show hero events that they can no longer participate in. What this team needs is more Defenders
tidge Posted November 16 Posted November 16 I guess I hadn't noticed this (loss of one sides' notifications), except when creating a new character I set up the side-specific notifications. I will add: There are other things that disappear when changing alignment, even hero <-> vig and rogue <-> villain. For example, I believe that any zone exploration tips (for incomplete zone patrols) also vanish upon changing alignment. 1

Given the low commitment involved in having or changing an alignment on Homecoming (literally a couple of clicks on a seagull) being informed of opposing faction events should not be viewed as a bad thing. And given that most players now switch between Rogue and Vigilante if they get involved in alignment switching at all, rather than Hero and Villain, you would never be losing access to any zones even when you swap.

I can get rid of all my zone exploration tips instantly just by switching alignment?? BRB, gotta talk to a seagull... I do a lot of exploration, but I never do the exploration tips, so I end up with a bunch of them piling up and it's annoying to get rid of them. Being able to flush them in bulk is great.

I wish we had a way to toggle these to not drop. They clog up my tip mission list. I know there are some newer players who've never heard of vidiotmaps or ATCs pop menu (and others), but I've never had to use these. By now, I have most zones memorized. A clever idea for the new or rust-laden returning player, but I would venture a guess that most folks don't use them. 1
