Lightslinger Posted December 2 Posted December 2 Eh, I'd rather Statesman stay dead. HOWEVER. I'm pretty sure it's illegal Psyche is still dead. She's a red-headed telepath, they aren't allowed to stay dead more than 30 days at a time! 1
WuTang Posted December 2 Posted December 2 Yes! But I'm still a new dude so I got questions I'd like to ask him...like How did he handle Rage crash? Or... Why did he have two travel powers? And... Did he have End use problems and how'd handle it? 1

I think this would be the easiest and most non-intrusive way to bring him back. All the Echo Zones are outside space and time, and locked at a point in History, in this case a point where he was very much still alive. It would be a fitting tribute to the character and not upend the lore. 1 1 " When it's too tough for everyone else, it's just right for me..." It was always Ms. Liberty, wasn't it? So making him the trainer in Echo:AP doesn't really fit the known history. And that's part of why I'm not all that invested in Statesman—my toons never really interacted with him (except for saving his butt in the original Maria Jenkins arc).

Doesn’t seem fair that he’s relegated to a far corner (a…back alley?) of AP while she’s in both AP and IP. Wasn't Back Alley Brawler the "Ms Liberty" of Galaxy City? I would rather see Back Alley Brawler replace Blue Steel in Kings Row. It seems more thematically correct. If someone posts a reply quoting me and I don't reply, they may be on ignore. (It seems I'm involved with so much at this point that I may not be able to easily retrieve access to all the notifications) Some players know that I have them on ignore and are likely to make posts knowing that is the case. But the fact that I have them on ignore won't stop some of them from bullying and harassing people, because some of them love to do it. There is a group that have banded together to target forum posters they don't like. They think that this behavior is acceptable. Ignore (in the forums) and /ignore (in-game) are tools to improve your gaming experience. Don't feel bad about using them.

True, my thought was just to place him somewhere in Echo: AP, maybe in City Hall, under the Atlas Statue reading a Newspaper, sitting on a park bench eating a Donut, just somewhere so that he is part of that moment in time. 1 " When it's too tough for everyone else, it's just right for me..." Spaghetti Betty Posted December 2 Posted December 2 I don't think I want Statesman to return as much as I wish he was more visible in progression content. It never really made sense to me, even from the early days of the game that the guy featured on the box is pretty much only talked about and hardly ever seen! It was very difficult for me as a player to care about him as an icon when the soonest anyone ever saw him was at the end of A Hero's Hero (correct me if I'm wrong). So when he died, I didn't really care! 1 Mainly on Excelsior. Find me in game @Spaghetti Betty. Mopery Posted December 2 Posted December 2 I remember hearing about "Who Will Die" and telling people that I bet it would be Statesman, to which most players mocked me and said it couldn't possibly be Statesman. I just figured it was like the "Death of Superman" comics, why bother building such tension only to have it be some sidekick be the one who dies? Let States rest in peace after his epic swan song. Those times you saw no footprints, I had Fly toggled on.

Personally: I still find the Sister Psyche lore to be entirely too complicated, even without considering Praetoria. The Malaise, Aurora Borealis, Manticore, etc. stuff is simply too much IMO. My only issue with Statesman was that (at launch), he was clearly identified as an Invulnerability Tanker, yet could do a whole lotta things an Invulnerability Tanker could not do in-game. I don't think I saw the game the same way Jack Emmert did, but I have no personal beef with him. 1
SmokinIndo Posted December 2 Posted December 2 I read somewhere that the original plan was for Tyrant to take up the Statesman mantle. I wouldn't mind if they did that, but Primal Earth's Marcus Cole should stay dead.
