shortguy on indom Posted December 13 Posted December 13 WINTER'S GIFT 3-PIECE SET... BEING THAT IT'S A TYPE OF 'WINTER SET'... WHAT MINIMUM LEVEL DOES IT EXEMPT DOWN TO IF I ATTUNE IT? THE SET-BONUSES ONLY EXEMPT? DOES THE 20% SLOW RESIST PIECE EXEMPT DOWN (ITS A UNIQUE). THANKS. (been using it for years, never was sure). PvP Capture the Flag! Bring some fun into it....
Hedgefund Posted December 13 Posted December 13 1) No question to answer 2) This set begins at level 10 so, when attuned, the bonuses will go down to level 7 (3 levels below minimum). 3) Not sure what point 3 is asking. If you're asking about the enhancement values they follow standard exemping rules. 4) Yes, it's a set bonus so follows the same rules as in 2) above. Proof: I exemped to the lowest mission I could find in Ouro which took me to level 9, the 20% resists showed. I then started a DFB which put me at level 2 and there was no 20% resist. 5) You're welcome. 1
Snarky Posted December 13 Posted December 13 Globals are just like I/Os and will work 3 levels below their bottom level. So, if attuned, the set bonuses including 20% res will work until 7. When i take a 50 and build (alt build) it to do ouro badging i will abuse purples and globals since they have a bottom of 10 (so 7) and you can stack impressive stuff into a little level 7. Set bonuses work even if a power is grayed out due to exemping. As long as you are in their range. 1
Marshal_General Posted December 16 Posted December 16 Unless I totally forgot how they work, I have been buying the unique recipe with a level 10 so that I don't have to attune it. 2

I was under the impression that the attuned IOs are just pulled from the regular IOs for sale anyway, so wouldn't this be a moot point? Also, I could be completely wrong as I am still playing around with the market stuff and learning.

If you're buying the recipe from the vendor in the Ski Chalet for canes, you get the recipe at a level appropriate for the character's level, so if you buy it with a 50, you get a level-50 recipe. Passing the canes to a level 10 to buy it means the recipe will be level 10, meaning that you don't need to attune it if you're going to slot more than one IO from the set and get the (IIRC) 7.5% movement bonus all the way down to level 7.
Ukase Posted Saturday at 02:51 PM Posted Saturday at 02:51 PM heh, a lot of my self-funding alts will visit this vendor year round. I have no idea why, but there were some long-standing bids for 3-5M for these recipes when the IOs were patiently bought by some folks at 700-900k. It's nice to have some utility for other-wise fairly useless candy canes. 1

Marine X Posted Monday at 05:38 PM Posted Monday at 05:38 PM I thought we were talking "3 piece Travel Set".....my bad. 1 1 " When it's too tough for everyone else, it's just right for me..." ( Unless it's Raining, or Cold, or Really Dirty or there are Sappers, Man I hate those Guys...) Marine X

I would have thought you would be deep in that you ebil market manipulator! Ugh. Canes are largely useless (to me), aside from the recipes from the Candy Keeper. Sure, folks might pay a bit of inf for them - but retrieving them from my email is soooooo tedious. I think I lose inf just by taking the time to pull them out, lol. At least, I would if I were still neck deep in "ebil market" manipulation. But, I've made the big stacks, now is time to just give some away here and there to our favorite vampire on occasion, and maybe to a few of those folks who like to hold the squirt guns and herd kittens lead leagues for various trials/raids. And the occasional noob that thinks 10M is a lot of inf. And, actually play, without tabbing out to check on an afk farmer. Edited yesterday at 05:06 PM by Ukase 1

Ukase Posted yesterday at 05:07 PM Posted yesterday at 05:07 PM I have edited my post to adjust them to just being useless to me. I get the jetpack at level 2; And I can level from 1-2 in the time it would take me to travel to pocket d, so yeah, no need for a Jingle Jet when I get a free jet pack.

I have one set aside for event salvage.
