Ukase Posted February 4 Posted February 4 There usually two missions I auto-complete. The first Infernal mission given by Maria Jenkins, as there's a later mission in her arc where we have to defeat Infernal, so there's no reason to do the first one, unless you just like clobbering demons. The 2nd one is the defeat all in Black Scorpion's patron mission. But the rest of them, I generally do. I might, every now and then auto-complete some stupid hunt mission, because they just shouldn't even exist in game, in my opinion. Hate 'em. I'll do them for the merits, but I certainly don't do the story arcs because of them. I do the arcs in spite of them.
biostem Posted February 4 Posted February 4 3 minutes ago, Ukase said: every now and then auto-complete some stupid hunt mission I always felt like the "kill X members of Y group" missions should instead have it where each defeat has a % chance to reveal the necessary information to progress the arc/mission, with it reaching a 100% chance by the time you defeated whatever that arbitrary number was, so in most cases, they're a bit shorter and more dynamic, but never longer than they are now... 1

JKCarrier Posted February 4 Posted February 4 I'm stubborn/masochistic enough that I'll usually at least attempt whatever mission falls in my lap, even the notoriously tedious ones. My main use of Auto-Complete is when I run into an Elite Boss I can't handle. Sometimes I'll just let the mission sit and come back once I've leveled up a couple times. But if I'm irritated enough I'll pull the trigger and Auto-Complete. --- 64453 - This Was Your Life? - An AE arc that lets you relive your hero's greatest triumphs! JKCarrier Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Ah, I remembered another time I use Auto-Complete (because I just had to do it): When I get a mission to "Hunt [Faction] in {Zone/Neighborhood]", and when I go there, the only available mobs are 3+ levels higher than I am. Yeah, thanks but no thanks. --- 64453 - This Was Your Life? - An AE arc that lets you relive your hero's greatest triumphs! (Er, there may still be some bugs in the system...)
Skyhawke Posted Thursday at 12:45 PM Posted Thursday at 12:45 PM If I'm getting a squishie/teaming character their Alpha slot, I'll auto complete the fight with the Honoree. My tougher characters? Yeah, let's rumble. My guys built for teaming? Nope. Auto complete and move on. Other than that, I keep the auto completes in the pocket for when something goes wrong on a mission (looking at you, enemy that clipped into the wall and is unhittable now). Sky-Hawke: Rad/WP Brute Alts galore. So...soooo many alts. Originally Pinnacle Server, then Indomitable and now Excelsior
tidge Posted Thursday at 01:37 PM Author Posted Thursday at 01:37 PM It never occurred to me to auto-complete the Honoree mission, even when I was trying to blitz-unlock the Alpha slot. The arguments in favor of doing so are sound, it's just that I will often slide into my level 50 "final" build and use the Mender Ramiel arc to put it through the paces.
Carnifax Posted Thursday at 02:27 PM Posted Thursday at 02:27 PM The "DPS readings" Tina mission in PI where stupid Dr Calvin hides stupidly and is stupidly dressed exactly like some of the stupid enemies. It's stupid It also ignores the "last objective gets highlighted on the map" rule added a while back, so once you clear the glowies you've still no idea where he is. Fine. Stay in there so. We'll just make a clone or rob an automation or something and tell Tina that it's you. My level 50 builds [Bullitt Time : DP/Kin Corruptor] [Carnifax : Ill/Dark Controller] [Kerriae : Plant/Storm Controller] [Echinoderm : Bio/Spines Tank] [Iron Brew : Mace/Rad Brute] [Snookered : Staff/NRG Brute] [iScream : Ice/Ice Scrapper] [Binman : Savage/Shield Stalker] [Modul-8 : Time/Sonic Defender] [Concussion Blast : Fire/NRG Domi] [Orblivion : Dark/Martial Domi] [Mombie : Necro/Nature MM] [Tempore : Water/Time Blaster] [Thermodynamic Flux : Ice/Fire Blaster] [Carni's Online CombatLog Parser Alpha]
Hedgefund Posted Thursday at 04:20 PM Posted Thursday at 04:20 PM The Dr. Calvin mission sucks because the mobs have nerfed XP but I tend to be able to find him easily enough with a target macro. "targetcustomnext calvin$$targetcustomnext temporal" lets me find that mission's objectives. It was an omission on my part to leave off Ramiel's RWZ mission in my prior post upthread. That mission absolutely gets autocompleted each and every time.
