RogueMD Posted February 22 Posted February 22 Hello! New to binds but need one for my Peacebringer for q.o.l. Issues. Binding the L button + shift for teleport in both Human and Dwarf forms: /bind shift+lbutton powexecname teleport$$powexecname white dwarf step This allows a human teleport and Dwarf teleport, but once I teleport in dwarf form, I can no longer use the bind to teleport as human again. It seems to lock the bind in White dwarf step. Any solutions would be welcome! Thank you.
Techwright Posted February 23 Posted February 23 While I realize this is a bind issue, it seems to be failing due to the unique nature of the Kheldians. Perhaps you can get help by posting this over in the Peacebringer & Warshade forum? That, or you might try calling @Laucianna's name three times. 🙃 1 1

So sadly you won't be able to bind two powers to use in a single key press, as no matter what form you are in that bind will always try to use white dwarf step. the three options I can think of for what you want are: Having two keys for the bind, so having shift+lbutton for human tp, and ctrl+lbutton for dwarf tp (This is what I use and is easiest) If you use a bind/macro to go in and out of dwarf form you can set up a bind file to swap to so when in dwarf it binds the dwarf tp, but when back in human it rebinds it to normal tp Final one is to have a rotating bind, so it will start with a human tp then switch it to be bound to dwarf tp, making it so if you double click it will teleport you. If you let me know which of those you would prefer I can try to help more with getting it set up on your toon 💛 1 ❤️ Kheldian Guide ❤️ 🎖️ Friday Fashion Contest 🎖️ 🗒️Character Wiki🗒️Friendly reminder that no matter what anyone or anything is saying, you ARE loved AND valued in life no matter what.
Greycat Posted February 23 Posted February 23 I have *very* old binds that tend to just rebind the key combo as I swap forms... *shrug* 1 1 Kheldian Lore and Backstory Guide 2.0: HC edition Out to EAT : A look at Epic ATs - what is, could have been, and never was Want 20 merits? I appreciate your contributions! The Teleport binds are so useful, and I use both binds of control + lbutton and shift + lbutton for the Human-Dwarf TPs; but I also wanted Combat Teleport with a convenient bind and, alas, that was why I hoped the “double bind” shenanigans would work! And yes, the bind/macros for human/nova/dwarf forms are invaluable! Thanks you and hope to see you in game! Best, Michael 1

tidge Posted February 23 Posted February 23 I addressed this problem by keeping multiple macros in the different form "trays".(*1) Having multiple key/mouse binds would work as well, but I use a similar single choice for all my non-Kheldians and ended up just keeping the one key/mouse-bind. There is a sort of similar issue for my characters that have more than one way to teleport (e.g. Burst of Speed and Translocation). (*1) This somewhat depends on how "busy" my trays are. My typical binds and macros for something like Combat Teleport are /bind shift+lbutton "powexec_name Combat Teleport" /macro_image "StaffFighting_StaffMastery" "BAMF" "powexec_location target Combat Teleport" /macro_image "StaffFighting_AssassinsStaff" "BACK" "powexec_location Back:25 Combat Teleport" The third one is only typically used on characters with some sort of cone attack, but it could be repurposed as an escape mechanism. As a bonus, here is a macro I've been using for characters with the Sorcery pool that don't keep Mystic Flight toggled on, but want something similar to Combat Teleport. /macro_image "Archery_Aim" "BAMF" "powexec_location target Translocation$$powexecname Mystic_Flight"

COH Radgen Posted February 24 Posted February 24 I've played a Warshade on live and got started using bind files to manage the form changes and setting the active tray for the powers appropriate to that form. I took a look at my Black Dwarf Step and Shadow Step binds and realized something odd. CTRL+LBUTTON "powexec_name Black Dwarf Step" SHIFT+LBUTTON "powexec_name Shadow Step" LeftDoubleClick "powexec_location target Black Dwarf Step$$powexec_location target Shadow Step" I changed my bind file and found the first and second binds will NOT work for both/either form if I try to combine both teleport powers. The odd thing that the third bind DOES work for either/both forms. I don't have an answer for why the one works but the others don't but if you find one please let us know. @tidge I may have to appropriate your BACK and Mystic Flight binds for some of my alts! @Radgen Mostly on Torch and Ex

SeraphimKensai Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Could always do something like: /bind shift+lbutton, "powexec_location cursor Teleport$$powexec_toggle_off Bright Nova$$powexec_toggle_off White Dwarf" That way when you use the bins it makes you human first then teleports you to wherever your cursor is pointing. This allows you to inner light, tp, dawn strike, and then in to your rotation to soften a group pretty well.

If you really want one key to fit everything in a single button press you could use two alternating keybind files: [c:\Temp\cohbind1.txt] KEY "+down$$-down$$powexec_location cursor teleport$$bind_load_file_silent c:\Temp\cohbind2.txt" [c:\Temp\cohbind2.txt] KEY "+down$$-down$$powexec_location cursor white dwarf step$$bind_load_file_silent c:\Temp\cohbind1.txt" Pressing the key triggers "teleport" and releasing it triggers "white dwarf step". So no matter what form you're in, hitting that key will teleport you.
DoctorDitko Posted yesterday at 12:22 AM Posted yesterday at 12:22 AM I can't find it, but I'm sure someone had a guide to having KEY-press doing one thing, and KEY-release doing a different one. Or have the video games finally rotted my brain like Mom used to say? 1 Disclaimer: Not a medical doctor. Do not take medical advice from Doctor Ditko. Also, not a physicist. However the BarbarianKeep guide has AFAIK been around since circa 2007 so would be one of the earliest sources; and it's really just had a few minor alterations since then to factor in changes to CoH's command parser. Spoiler ... oh, wait, you founded that club ... If someone posts a reply quoting me and I don't reply, they may be on ignore. (It seems I'm involved with so much at this point that I may not be able to easily retrieve access to all the notifications) Some players know that I have them on ignore and are likely to make posts knowing that is the case. But the fact that I have them on ignore won't stop some of them from bullying and harassing people, because some of them love to do it. There is a group that have banded together to target forum posters they don't like. They think that this behavior is acceptable. Ignore (in the forums) and /ignore (in-game) are tools to improve your gaming experience. Don't feel bad about using them.
