How the hell am I even supposed to know if ignorance is bliss?

Kind of related - where could one go, to see the reasons why some people are upset about the upcoming(?) changes?  I mean, I've read patch notes, but I haven't sifted through feedback where I've seen anyone pointing to particular problems.

I'm just curious if there's anywhere in particular one could read these concerns.  Asking for a friend, of course.

Yeah, this is the community today. It's people like you.

So is the issue the game itself or the part of the community that you are running into?

The community is very different based on the server you are on, the time of day that you play, and the level of content you are trying to participate in.

The push to power-level to 50, only run 50's, and speed run everything is annoying to me, but I have found it easy to avoid most of that other than stumbling into a speed run or having a 50 try-to or turn a normal leveling run into a speed run.

That is to say, regardless of how many or most people are playing the game there are a good number of people are playing the game that he way that they want to play it by soloing, creating their own teams or sgs, rp'ing, chatting it up in general during missions, etc.

On the hero side, you can still go to the Origin contacts (that have missions through level 50), but you have to go to them yourself. Your characters are no longer directed to go to them.

If someone posts a reply quoting me and I don't reply, they may be on ignore.

(It seems I'm involved with so much at this point that I may not be able to easily retrieve access to all the notifications)

Some players know that I have them on ignore and are likely to make posts knowing that is the case.

But the fact that I have them on ignore won't stop some of them from bullying and harassing people, because some of them love to do it. There is a group that have banded together to target forum posters they don't like. They think that this behavior is acceptable.

Ignore (in the forums) and /ignore (in-game) are tools to improve your gaming experience. Don't feel bad about using them.

My 2 favorite classes were Brute and Mastermind, and both of those classes have been nerfed compared to what they were when I played live.

I also used to stealth radio missions for quick mission completion exp to level up certain classes, and that was nerfed as well.

Unless you got IRL friends who're willing to team with you, there's basically no point in playing this, but if so it might be fun if you just ignore the community entirely.  But it's not the game I remember (in a bad way).

If you want to team, and you don't have IRL friends, have fun waiting around for long periods and putting huge effort into getting a team together to run whatever content you're looking to run, and if you want to solo, you might as well just power level at pocket D.  That's the game in a nutshell, and I'm not surprised that many take issue with this.

That was "nerfed" during live.

On community, yes, there are some people that suck, some that are just having a bad day, some read the worst possible meaning from anything, but for the most part, the community is good.   Just ignore the bits that are bothersome, whether in game, discord, or forums.

Most items are able to be solo'd by any character, and almost everything if you have a good build with the right power sets.   If you want to team, Excel & Everlasting are fast teaming,   And the others, it's usually during the active times.  And I think all the servers have some sort of channel which you can monitor even when you're not on that server.

I don't remember specific update #, but the last live patch I played was shortly after they added IOs to the game.  I honestly preferred the pre-IO CoH/CoV game.  If there was a state of the game I'd prefer, it would be like shortly after CoV launch.  Brutes, Stalkers, and Masterminds were quite strong in comparison to the current game version.  I leveled a stalker to 50 by assassinating bosses for mission exp, did it in Siren's Calls where I'd do missions there and in between them I'd pick off a player or 2, it was fun.

But I get it, things chance to the liking of some, but to the detriment of others.  Someone in one camp isn't going to see eye to eye with someone in the other camp, so arguing over it is pointless, but it is what it is.

I can get a team of 8 in a few minutes 99% time to run any content or trial.  Granted I have not tried to lead teams in non TF/SF/Trial stuff, I solo all that.  When I need help in a mission (certain badges) I get the help.  FAST.

HC is way better than live IMO…. The AH market was f*cked up beyond repair on Live, & it made building toons a PITA.  As a high schooler, I didn’t have time for minmaxing.  Now I do.

Yeah live was....maybe months away from the "Softban on influence in trading" that would have been inevitable due to how badly inflated influence was.

That achieved something.   What have you achieved this week?

The verbage on the Beta page was updated hours after I pointed out that they never said they were rolling back Tank AoE increases, just adding more.  Maybe that was a giant coincidence.  But it happened right after I pulled a Karen in the Brute forum about it.  And hey, while I may not play Brutes much anymore anyways, I will always have Fury…

Instant respect that you were able to quickly admit you were incorrect about the buffs, that still gave me a good laugh though :D.

Thank god it’s not the CoX of 2004. It’s 100x better by now.

100x this.
