Dark uses both to hit debuffs, stun effect, and fear effect to mitigate incoming damage. Adding to hit debuff to a stun aura increases the overall effectiveness of your to hit debuffs on opponents

I agree that would be superior but thematically the idea is the shot is piercing through two other targets. It's a narrow cone because doing so is a mechanically simple way to evoke that idea.
aethereal Posted August 29 Posted August 29 (edited) 5 hours ago, JayboH said: Nice, do you happen to know the answers to my questions regarding the proc? To hit debuff from the AA proc lasts 10 seconds. Not affected by enhancements. 7.5% to hit debuff, resistable. Edited August 29 by aethereal

If everything is designed around stunning your target, why would you care if they get hit with a to-hit debuff? Does the full set stun duration outlast the to-hit debuff proc? Etc. 11 hours ago, JayboH said: I have tried to get Dark Pit some buffs a few times over the years. It costs a lot of endurance, it has low base accuracy, it has a low mag stun, and the stun is short. How do you slot yours up? Dark Pit on a Corruptor inflicts a Mag2 Stun with a Base Duration of 8.94 seconds and a recharge time of 60s. Slotting a full Absolute Amazement set into it will get the Stun duration to a 18.05 seconds (regular unboosted) and 18.54s (if they're boosted to +5) https://cod.uberguy.net./html/power.html?power=corruptor_ranged.dark_blast.dark_pit&at=corruptor The Absolute Amazement Proc inflicts -7.5% ToHit (resistable) for 10 seconds; at an activation rate of 4.5PPM https://cod.uberguy.net./html/power.html?power=boosts.crafted_absolute_amazement_f.crafted_absolute_amazement_f&at=corruptor So if you're putting the entire +5-boosted "Absolute Amazement" IO set into Dark Pit; you can expect: + Inflict a Mag 2 Stun with a duration of 18.54s (vs even-level enemies) + Capped Hit Chance vs +1 enemies (can become capped vs higher level foes with more Global Accuracy + ToHit buffs etc) + A Recharge time of 28.93s (this can be made lower with more Global Recharge + Hasten etc. getting it down to ~15s is often viable) + A chance to inflict -7.5 ToHit (vs even level foes) for 10s. At 4.5PPM with the above slotting this will have a 72.6154% activation rate. Personally... I skip it. Dark Blast is one of those powersets that only has about 5 powers that (to me) are worth taking. I will sometimes take the T1 Dark Blast. But Dark Pit, Night Fall and Torrent for me are always firm skips. ...and that's not a bad thing, because it give me lots of options for pool/epic/patron powers etc. (On Sentinels it's a different story but Dark Blast there might as well be a completely new powerset!)

Oh I take everything except the ST Hold and the abomination known as Black Hole. On my level 50 build i may have to drop one the T1 blast. Which makes me sad. But i want Leadership Tactics, which means Manuevers. And with Hasten and a Travel Power…. But I try to take them all. I like the hold. But no room, no options to stack in Dark^3 and therefore it is much less useful. I have been on this Dark^3 running all content since March. Every contact every mission Red/Blue/Gold. The powers work wonderfully together once you realize the timing and opportunities. Only against rare EBs do I start to get pressured solo. Tons of mobs? Debuff, Stun, Tar, Spirit Drain, Blackstar. Even when i cannot kill stuff fast I rarely have issues due to all the mitigation Dark^3 throws out.

Such an odd proc choice, where the more pieces of the set you get on a power, the less effective the proc becomes. JayboH Posted September 2 Posted September 2 Sonic's been toyed with a couple of times recently right? Pretty sure in the last huge patch it was altered again. How is it now? Helped make Honest Game Trailers channel content, and channel EnergyOne Flint Eastwood

The blast set? They simplified the -res. There's just one type now and it's -11.25% (for corruptors) on all the powers, with varying durations. Powers don't stack with themselves, but they stack with each other. It's pretty easy to get up to 3 stacks. Uuniverse
bustacap Posted Saturday at 12:26 AM Posted Saturday at 12:26 AM The t1 in sonic does not stack with the t2. I think Shout and screech can stack with either the t1 or 2. They lowered the stacking of the - resist and upped the base damage. Screech actually getting damage is chefs kiss. Used to be 1 of those no damage control powers. powers do not do slow or -def so not very procable. One of the cones does kb for FF shenaigans if you want. 1

It was changed again in i28p2. None of the powers stack with themselves but they all stack with each other. Sonic Attack Simplified the -res stacking. The following powers now apply a scale -1.5 resistance debuff for various durations: Shriek - 8s Scream - 8s Howl - 8s Shout - 10s Screech - 15s Dreadful Wail - 20s Quote Design Notes: This changes should make it much easier to understand Sonic Blast's -res effects. Each power is simply independent of each other and has their stacking set to replace. Players should be able to see slightly higher average -res than live with most builds, but the effects will continue to be much lower than they used to be before the last pass. 1 Uuniverse
