I'm soloing Goldside.

 

Admittedly, this was resurrecting a Praetorian alt from Virtue, but so far it hasn't been that awful. It helps that she's now a claws/regen brute, though I'm regretting not getting the offensive boosters while they were cheaper. You don't realize how much you miss not having the DFB accuracy boost until you don't have it.

 

So, anyone else dusting off stuff they haven't done since Live?

Lots of things! I try mixing up content whenever I do solo level a new toon.

 

One of my favorite activities is running through the sewers to Steel Canyon by myself! It's totally doable with a few START goodies and a couple of Base TPs to train up occasionally.

I'm curious as to how easy a time a MM would have in Preatoria. I went brute because Fury makes for free damage buffs before you can fully slot out, I've also thought a blaster and stalker would have a better time there as well with their insta-kills, crits, and defiance buffs.

I'm currently running a stalker thru Praetoria, but just the Warden branch.   I have a Claws/Regen Scrapper that will do the whole thing.

 

Haven't run the Story Arcs completely for about a year.  A group of us started the redside ones, i'll probably run one of my chars thru soon.

Followup: Re-discovering why I wasn't playing goldside. Big open rooms full of yellow conning minions with stuns at level 7. It finally forced me to grab the offensive amplifiers just so I could land hits.

I was over on Gold Side yesterday to get some exploration badges for a Blue Side character.   As I flew over the plaza where Marauder is stationed, I was shocked to see half a dozen players running around the plaza.  Normally, any place I visit over there I never see more than 2 other players at a time, and usually none.  I do wish it would go back to a standard of higher numbers.   Not necessarily like Excelsior's Atlas Park, but enough that the place feels inhabited.

I've seen a few other players around the plaza in Everlasting, but oddly that's only where I've ever seen them.

 

Having made it to Imperial City and done some missions there, I'm probably going to be making some suggestions over on that board once I'm done with my Praetorian run.

It is okay to take a bath.  They have studied it.  The water (in most places) is now safe.

I think if I was gonna try something like that I'd have to take a pretty static character that can go for the set piece - My Dark/TA is seeming quite promising but I fear it would lack damage. Maybe a Demons/Storm (I was gonna say Beast but they are more close range)

Never heard of the Jarmels before!  That type of music takes me back lol. Great lead vocal, love the tone and gravel he threw at it. So many modern singers have great pitch and sound and zero style.  This guy leaned into it like a motorcycle taking a corner at over a hundred

I'm doing the same thing! I chose a Poison/Water Defender, which has been a bit difficult at times because there's not really a lot of people Goldside if you need help. I have taken to dual boxing outside busy hours on particularly hard missions (like right now I have to fight two orange bosses with my level 13 defender, died twice lol so yeah I'm bringing in an alt). 

 

I love the flavor, it's just a little quiet and awkward being trapped there until you finish the storyline at 20 where you go either hero or villain. The story experience is far more coherent, and I really dig the options to lean your alignment one way or the other based on circumstances. I recommend that anyone who hasn't tried Goldside to make a very solo-friendly toon to run the content so they don't have it so rough.

Poison/Water is very potent if you don't mind taking your time.

I was very worried with how well my Ice Control/Cold Domination controller would fare in goldside 1-20. Now, I did sugar daddy him a Panacea proc, and 50 million from petty cash. But even without using the START vendor, he destroys things. Very nearly as fast as my brute. Largely that is on the power of Arctic Air confusing all the minions and lieutenants though, freeing him up to focus on the bosses. He definitely had an easier time in the early levels than my goldside Ice/Dark sentinel.

 

For things I haven't done in forever... I've gone a full week without caffeine?  It won't last mind you. But it's reassured me that I CAN in fact give it up, if I ever wish to.

I am sticking to my Pyro/Dark/Dark Dom for a bit longer than usual for me.

I have been working through all my alts, so I only give myself a month for each.

 

I decided to work through as many defeat badges as I can.

At one point, I did Chapter 1 of the Croatoa arcs to get those defeat badges finished ... especially for the Ghosts

I still needed Tuatha, and I ended up doing the entire Chapter 3. I forgot how annoying hunts can be. Especially when your targets are just over the boundaries of the area you need to defeat them in. Hadn't done these in a while.

 

I also did the Magic Man storyline. That was fun! And I enjoyed the mix of enemies in the final mission.
