I've tried to make dual pistol characters, but I just can't.  The animations are SO ridiculous and unnecessary (and Bullet Rain is such an absurd power... bullets falling from the sky?  What?  PLEASE.), that I just can't stand it.

However, there IS a pistols set that looks fine.  Masterminds have dual pistols but don't go through the ridiculous acrobatics when firing.  Perhaps we can get the animations from Mastermind Pistols (from the Thugs set) added to Dual Pistols (for Blasters and others) as alternate animations?

No! Never! How dare you ask for that?!

Joking aside. This has been asked for many times. I would like to see this happen too please.

It will probably require some of the alternate animations to have longer apparent "aiming" time, because primary and alternate animations need to have idential animation times. Still. I'd gladly take a more "professional" point-and-shoot animation for each power. The wild flailing is .... not my cup of tea. I also currently have zero Dual Pistols characters because I cannot get past it.

But, those who like current animations should be allowed to keep them.

It is what it is. I personally like it and hate it depending on my mood. There are also other powers that turn me off soley because of animation or lack of customisation of animation. So I just don't play those toons until an update happens to address them. Until then, I'm perfectly happy just to be able to play the game.

I've made a few dual pistols characters over the years, including one just today, and yeah, the animations are wild.

Wish there was someone devoted to adding more alternate animations and weapons, for all sets. I want more axes!

My thinking is that the animations are already in the game, so surely it can't be all that difficult to make them available to Dual Pistols.  Agreed, the timing might need to be adjusted, but that also can't be too difficult.

Of course, as I mentioned elsewhere, it's not really for me to say what is or isn't easy to do.  I'm just putting the idea out there (again, it seems).

I'm in the crowd that would love to see at least an alternate animation for Penetrating shot. It's great if your character is doing circus tricks or something, but I can't stand it. I have a LOT of Dual Pistols characters, and my solution is I usually just skip Bullet rain and Penetrating Shot. Sometimes I'll make an exception for Bullet rain if it's a Wanted style "bend the bullet's path" character, or some Runaway style micromissiles or anime reflex warheads tech. All the rest are fine.

I don't think alternate animations would be a suitable answer for Bullet Rain though, because the problem is less the pistol animation, and more about the bullets falling from the sky.

I've had both a DP blaster and a Thugs MM for several years. It wasn't until today (after reading this) that I realized that MMs get different animations for Pistols, Dual Wield and Empty Clips. I'm all for having alternate animations for DP, especially Piercing Rounds. Clearly the animations for the first 3 powers could be ported from Thugs to Dual Pistols, but that leaves 5 powers. Perhaps some of the Malta Gunslinger animations could be reused.
