Nayeh Posted yesterday at 02:24 PM Posted yesterday at 02:24 PM It’s hard to believe this was greenlit. The new connection between Kings Row and Perez Park feels less like thoughtful city planning and more like a rushed patch job. On the Kings Row side, the entrance is crude and jarring compared to the rest of Hide Park. It’s like the developers forgot the neighborhood had standards.  Y’all did Kings Row dirty!  Perez Park Side Offenses Spelling Error: The mini-map can’t even get the name right — “King’s Row” instead of “Kings Row.” Sloppy. Faction Logic Failure: Kings Row is Skull territory, yet somehow the Hellions instantly won the turf war outside the barrier. Where are the Skulls? Where’s the battle? This is lazy narrative design. Dumpster Disaster: One dumpster clips into the wall and awkwardly positioned logistically. Making it impossible for a trash truck to pick up. It’s not just ugly. It’s nonsensical. Tree Cluster Madness: Three trees shoved into a tiny concrete square. Who approved this landscaping nightmare? Tutorial Relic: An “information” device plopped here like it wandered out of the tutorial zone. Out of place, immersion-breaking, laughably cheap, and provides no "information".  Kings Row Side Offenses Unsafe Barriers: Narrow pathways and unsafe distances from the stairs, with a tree clipping into the wall. It screams “unfinished.” Vehicle Logic Breakdown: Barriers block vehicles, yet dumpsters sit in a spot no truck could ever reach. Did anyone think this through? Dumpster Fire (Literally): An actual dumpster fire next to residential housing. This isn’t edgy — it’s reckless design. Watchtower Overkill: Four scout towers crammed into the area. Excessive, absurd, and unintentionally comical. Are we spying on the neighbors now?   Sloppy implementation...  From spelling errors to faction misrepresentation, from clipping assets to unsafe layouts, it feels like the developers threw darts at a wall and called it “city planning.” Instead of enhancing immersion, it undermines it at every turn.  Kings Row deserves better. The players deserve better.     Perez Park - Kings Row Entrance  Kings Row - Perez Park Entrance 1 1

Acroyear Posted yesterday at 05:43 PM Posted yesterday at 05:43 PM I have to agree with the poster here. I checked out the new connection last night and thought a lot of the placement of exterior art objects was very odd and haphazard. It really does not look like it fits in well on both sides. The Information Terminal on the Perez Park side really through me too, as it has no function at all and seems like an odd addition.  I guess the main question I have is, was there a high demand for a connection between Kings Row and Perez Park? I've been playing the game since 2004, and I've never felt that it was needed, so I guess I'm just surprised one was added all these years later.Â

Arbegla Posted yesterday at 05:54 PM Posted yesterday at 05:54 PM In lower levels, there are a bunch of 'go hunt kill' in perez park missions, especially from the old contacts. Having a connection to Kings Row is invaluable to those who walk everywhere instead of using the different teleport powers.
lemming Posted yesterday at 06:02 PM Posted yesterday at 06:02 PM If you had looked at it and compared to live, a lot of the elements were already in place. I agree with the info terminal, I think it's smaller than usual and should be functional. I glanced at it on beta, but didn't have any notes. iirc, the four watchtowers were there on live. The spot for the gate was there already. I'm guessing the contractors just followed the specs and didn't feel cleanup was part of it.  About Kings Row vs King's Row.  Follows the same logic on the IP road sign (and teleport beacons, menus, etc...)  Various elements should be pointed out that are clipping etc, but Nayeh is pretty abrasive in their feedback. I've never had a dev come back with "Thanks for being a jerk about the bug report"  2 1

Where are the Skulls? Where’s the battle? This is lazy narrative design. Kings Row may be Skull territory, but the connection point for Perez Park is in Hellion territory. The Hellions have always held that part of Perez Park. The Skulls hold the west side and part of the north side of Perez Park. The Hellions hold the east and south parts. (Edit: The Hellions also hold half of the north side. Basically, the Skulls and Hellions have Perez Park split nearly evenly between them with the waterways and woods controlled by the Lost, Clockwork, Circle, and Hydra.) The south part lacks a Skull to Hellion transition because of how the map is laid out. Where the transition would happen (matching the north), the wall cuts northward into Hydra territory. That isn't lazy narrative design, that is pre-existing zone control.  5 hours ago, Nayeh said: Watchtower Overkill: Four scout towers crammed into the area. Excessive, absurd, and unintentionally comical. Are we spying on the neighbors now? All the entrances have security measures to keep people out of the overrun Perez Park and keep the threats inside Perez Park. At all zone connections to Perez Park, there is security running out to the road. Steel Canyon has the road right at the gate, so it only has the standard police drones and personnel. Atlas Park, Skyway City, and Kings Row have the road further away from the gate, so they have security fences and watch towers. Kings Row has its road rather far away from the gate. I'm surprised there aren't 6 watch towers with fencing to keep people out since the Kings Row entrance is the only entrance that doesn't have security going all the way to the road.  Edited 22 hours ago by Rudra 1 1

Basically if it isn't reachable by tram or O-zone, does the zone even exist? 1
