Citizen Bane Build

Recommended Posts

I had a variant of this back in the day. Now that IOs are easier to come by, I thought I'd go back and try once more. I'm questioning if I need Aid Self or not? I'll give it a test run. Am I missing a "must-have" power? Here's my plan. Softcap to all positions, solid resists and a self heal with 108% global recharge, 147% Health and what looks to be OK DPS. Will try to solo AVs with build. Thank You.

+1 to Venom Grenade, It's the single best SoA power, well maybe after TT:M.  Yes it's annoying for redraw, still worth it.

Aid Self sucks, it's a long cast that's interruptible, it might possibly be useful if you took Field Medic as well.  You can save yourself the power slot by just buying some med packs from the P2W vendor, they're expensive at 500k per 10 uses, but saving a power slot's more useful, or just rely on green inspirations.  In half a day of play on my bane today though I think I used 1 green when I took about 1/5th my bar, just as a precaution.

Aid Other also sucks, ditto long cast, interruptible, and to that extremely short range, even with Field Medic it's worse than the worst support heal.  The only thing I ever found it somewhat useful for is an MM who took a no heal support set like cold - it's going to be a lot harder to heal players than pets you can tell to sit in place and they immediately listen.

But give them both a try,  I'm thinking of making an almost no attacks Bane with it, just as a full support concept.  If they do work for you let us know.

Hey thanks so much for the feedback. I'm still in the funding phase of this project and have yet to respec. I'll get back to the drawing board to incorporate Venom Grenade. Thanks.

Alright, after some recommendations here I've gone back to the drawing board and come up with the follow.

-Softcapped to all positional defenses

-70% resistance to S/L. 30% to other types.

-93% Global Recharge (sad to whiff on perma Hasten) but should be enough to sustain DPS on an AV

And now the bad...

NO KB protection.

Probably going to need Cardiac Alpha to sustain DPS and endurance

Lacks -Res Achilles Proc IO in Poison Ray and Venom Grenade

No way to self-heal

Aid-Self is a 30% (on my stalker who has 1600HP it heals 466HP) heal on a 6 second cooldown. Calling it bad is a bit headscratchy. Yes, it needs uninterrupt IOs, yes, it cannot be used on caltrops or fire patch or when DoTs are up, yes it works (a lot) better on a defense based build. If any of these three is up then insps or the medpacks.

Arg! You make it sound like it's a worthy inclusion. I respec'd last night and fully IO'd out and didn't include Aid Self. The good news, I guess, is that at soft-capped defense and some decent resists have made munching greens much more reliable. Not including a KB IO was a huge mistake. It doesn't happen often but man, it's super annoying when KB hits and I'm left flopping on the ground. I was able to get perma-hasten in the build. It's been a huge boon. This has allowed me to chain Shatter Armor > Bash > Shatter > Pulverise > Poison Ray > Bash > Shatter Armor. Not entirely sure this is the best DPS chain but it's working well for me so far. Haven't  tried to solo any AVs yet. I'll update when I do.
