Plant/Nature Build - Perma Overgrowth Attempt

Griffyn

Recommended Posts

Here's my build. I'm shooting for perma-Overgrowth and according to Mid's I'm just shy by under a second with a Radial Core Paragon.  That works for me, but I was wondering if anyone saw anything that I missed in the build.

Found some issues with the build. I had capped out on two of the recharge bonuses. So I changed Impervious Skin to Aegis, and Ragnarok to Positron's Blast. I also dropped a slot from Strangler and added a 6th slot to Wild Growth for a Steadfast KB Protect. This gets me perma by a fraction of a second. I could get it lower, but I like the idea of using Power Boost on the buffs.

Comments are more than welcome!

I've a Plant/Nature that I rather enjoy.

A few comments from a cursory glance -

I have base to-hit as 48 in my Mids (for +3s).  1 Accuracy in Corrosive Enzymes is enough to have a final to-hit over 95% there.

Since you're not really chasing aoe and/or fire/cold def, I'd move a slot (the end/rch) from Wild Growth, which doesn't need a lot of recharge to be perma.

I'd move those 2 new slots to temp invul to either buff res/end in that power or perhaps provide a home to the two 3% Def IOs

Personally I love the Panacea set in Lifegiving Spores.  The proc works on teammates in the patch.

I'd sacrifice the Posi set bonuses to make creepers a proc monster (note - this is a thing I haven't done yet, I still have Posi in my Creepers but am going to change).  Testing results for creeper procs look impressive.

That's just my 2 inf, you'll be a-ok as-is regardless.

Would the other heal set procs also work in LS? Could be neat to to just throw all the heal/end procs in there.

Which Alpha slot would you recommend?

Any slots in Health or Stamina for +end/+heal procs?

Also, no travel power? I get the extra utility, but I think I'd get annoyed. If you were to take one, which power would you swap out? Power Boost maybe? Is that power any good?

Thanks!

Panacea affects the targets of the heal because it was made to, with a power description to match. The other heal procs do not, so only affect yourself.

Well there goes the plant proc patch plan! Still, I'll certainly make room for the Panacea proc if nothing else. Thanks for the clarification.

Has anyone tested this on the 'new' preventive medicine proc? It never made it to live, so I don't know if it was intended to behave like Panacea.

Also, a lot of changes were made to procs for I24, so has any testing been done to confirm that older healing procs weren't modified to affect allies. Not calling you a liar or anything. I just am working on my own plant/nature controller and wasn't sure if all the old rules still applied on HC.

Thanks!

What is your question about it?

Whether the Prev Med proc, like the Panacea proc, will trigger for allies in a Lifegiving Spores patch. Or if it's limited to only affecting yourself.

Great comments! I pulled the slot from Corrosive Enzymes and put it in Temp. Invul. with a +3% Def IO. For the slot in Wild Growth, the +3% Def IO are global enhancers so it doesn't matter where I slot it, right? If so, I'll swap the slot in WG for the Steadfast +3% Def IO.

Putting Panacea in Lifegiving Spores is a great idea. I didn't realize the proc would work on allies and I increase my global recharge rate too.

I really won't be losing much overall recharge if I drop Posi from Creepers. Even though I won't technically have it perma it'll be in the fraction of a second short.  My question is will Creepers benefit from my set Acc bonuses or do I need to slot Acc to hit +3/+4 mobs?

Thanks for taking a look at the build and commenting.

To answer the question that I posed, pets don't take advantage of set bonuses. I found someone who was slotting 5 procs in Creepers who was using the Nerve Alpha and a Boosted Ragnarok Acc/Rchg. That would cover the Acc gap especially if you were running Tactics as well.
