Galaxy Brain Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 With the new buffs to this secondary, I'm curious as to what sets would compliment it best as a primary?
Waypoint Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 Dark or Plant. Both have strong AOEs that would counter the mostly single target that is earth assault.
Coyote Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 Electric and Ice also. Both work better in melee range due to PBAoE auras, and Earth Assault generally plays at melee range.
honoroit Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 (edited) I like the idea of dark, those pets on Dom would do well. For me tho, dark I pref controller dark secondary, it's that good. Albeit with different overall focus. Electric control is a good option. I have one named 'tale of salt and sky' who enjoys throwing boulders now 😳 Chaining knockdown on very short CD and another slot for force feedback recharge proc Chaining confuse on a short CD which will let you slot contagious confusion in a meaningful way at fiddy Pulsing sleep location placable is very nice for keeping you safe while in melee range (good end drain too) Conductive aura plays well with being near foes (good end drain) Edited August 28, 2019 by honoroit Mistype
Galaxy Brain Posted August 28, 2019 Author Posted August 28, 2019 Hm, ice/ has a damage aura now doesn't it?

I'm running ice/earth/mu and enjoying it - this is a dom that LIVES in melee. MunkiLord Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 I've been playing a Dark/Earth and I really like it so far. The Trevor Project

oedipus_tex Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 Fire Control seems like a very good pairing for Earth. Mud Pots is a Fire damage aura that recently had its range increased to 15 feet. This screams to be paired with Hot Feet. Fire/Earth/Fire in particular seems promising.
SeraphimKensai Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 I have a plant/earth permadom Domi that was strong before the changes to /earth.
Gyffes Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 Plant/Earth all the way, great combo before and the changes just made it even more fluid while giving some decent AoE.
Coyote Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 5 hours ago, Lancek said: Does Earth/ compliment /Earth? Only thematically. I think a nice strength of Earth Control is that there are no PBAoE powers, and three drop powers that can be placed out of LOS. But Earth Assault wants to be in melee, so you're losing the all-ranged benefits of Earth Control. Dark Control has a nice PBAoE Stun that can pair nicely with Fissure and add more damage if you put procs in it. Ice Control has a PBAoE aura. Electric Control has PBAoE aura. Fire Control has PBAoE damage aura. Plant Control also likes to be in melee since Carrion Creepers follow you, and its AoE Confuse bunches mobs up. Gravity, Earth, and Mind are all ranged.
