  1. With regards the Guardian I always thought it was unwise to scrap it since, apparently, it was fairly close to completion and it was basically only the original SCORE crew that decided "oh we don't like this..." and not the general populous we now have, especially since Rebirth is now in the process of testing it for an issue 24 server. Especially considering Sentinels didn't go down well in the current population and apparently they were deemed worthy enough to go in over Guardians.
  2. Sentinels were basically 'in the code' on the beta test server before the game was sunset. The SCORE guys basically worked things out and added them into the game so they finished something that was incredibly barebones at the time. However Sentinels are going to be looked at once the Mastermind changes (ranged pets nolonger run into melee) and maybe the Tanker Changes (whole host of changes) go through since currently they're considered kind of...meh...by the community in that they don't really fulfill a major needed role, at least in my personal opinion.
  3. Having taken a StJ/SR stalker to 50 and heavily outfitted her, I will say that she is a beast. Yes Bio will output more damage than SR and but the joy of Super Reflexes is that it's very simply and cheap to hit the 45% softcap and then you can pile everything else into +Recharge (with the already added bonus of +20% recharge in the power set itself). StJ even without Bios help can practically two shot elite bosses with the good old Build up (With Gaussian slotted in it for double build up fun)>Assassin's Strike>ATO Hide proc>Crushing Uppercut. Sometimes if you get really lucky Build Up then refreshes from the other ATO unique and you're shaving off that last little bit of health remaining with ease.
  4. Made a few tweaks and got everything to roughly 40-41% without any incarnate stoofs on. Once I get even the rare agility core going it bumps it up to 43% across the board and with the Very Rare it makes it 44% across the board without Barrier, so with Barrier I'd be at 49% defense at its worst. The only big defenses gap is Psi but eh..I'll live with that, it'll build character. Thanks for the suggestions. I'll post the updated build again here if people want it.
  5. Hi guys, wondering if you could take a look at my WM/Bio build and see what you thought. 6. Thankfully we're in the situation now where if one server does get shutdown there are plenty to immigrate too and because the sourcecode is now out in the wild NCsoft would have a hard time trying to get all of them. Take a look at World of Warcraft. The entire reason they introduced classic was because they saw the money the private legacy servers were pulling in with donations and the like and also so that they could point to a product they were providing with which to easily shutdown any private server in court. NCsoft aren't in that same situation, they CAN shutdown private servers just as easily but if good old Blizzard can't manage to do it (still a huge number of private servers kicking around since classic only covers vanilla and not all the other expansions that were sign as a big deal, particularly Wrath of the Lich King or Mists of Pandaria) I doubt NCsoft could be that bothered to chase down a game which they nolonger use the IP for, nolonger run the servers for and was a failure in their home territory, especially with the MMO genre on the backfoot these days.
  7. Yup I say go ahead with these changes they've been called for by PvE Masterminds for a bloody long time, not only that other servers have implemented them like several months ago. Sorry PvPers but I really don't want a change that's wanted by quite a large chunk of the largely PvE focused playerbase to end up being like the Tanker Changes where the small minority that PvPs slows them down. Get these changes live and then balance for PvP. If there's anything I can't stand it's PvP focused changes slowing down or affecting PvE changes.
  8. Yeah now THIS is something I can get behind, make the entire set less reliant on Rage by increasing the damage of the powers, I'll definitely take that.
  9. Well, unfortunately, a lot of the ATO uniques kinda suck for a few classes. Tankers and Brutes get ones that are decent. Scrappers and Stalkers get ones that are life changing. Controllers get ones that are on par with Sentinel in being just god damn awful as do Blaster IIRC.
  10. As the original poster, the explanation that was posted by Jimmy (its on the recommended post tab up the top) is more than enough for me. Thank you for your time I was just curious as to why we hadn't seen things like new powersets or new costumes and you gave an explanation as to why, things like the 64 bit server and technical back end stuff.
  11. To be fair this problem IS solved but require putting the 'chance to hide' proc in AS. Since your combo goes BU>AS>CU since you're attacking from hide this also means that CU will crit as well, this pushes your alpha strike powers waaay past that of a scrapper since you're doing two massive hits that can (and I've done this myself) shave off half of an elite bosses health bar in 2 hits.
  12. My main point of contention is the large number of currently NPC only costumes that already work just fine, don't cause clipping or animation issues, in the -n version of Titan Icon. Surely they wouldn't take too much work to flip off the switch form NPC/DEV only to PC availability.
  13. Look at CoXG/Rebirth, they've had tons of stuff added, new powersets, a new AT, new costume options, lifting the restriction on NPC parts going to players (not all of them but those that make sense and work without any issue). Meanwhile CoXH has had 1 new AT (which is in need of a rework, admitted by the devs themselves since it is currently seen as a bit lackluster), We've not had any new costumes (we've had patterns but no actually new costume pieces) or had the restrictions lifted like on CoXG. We've had 2 new story arcs and a lot of back end power balancing work (which also goes on on CoXG I might add). It just feels like things are a touch slow when compared to both Rebirth/CoXG and I'm curious if, because CoXH is looking to become 'official' that they're currently being rather conservative and restricting to mostly power changes.
  14. Sorry to resurrect and old topic but did we hear anything more from this and our dear William Valence?
  15. Well M40 Grenade for assault rifle deals just terrible damage and requires a KB-KD IO in it to make it worth while. That's the only one I can think of that really needs a good look at.
  16. I'd actually like to see a proper fantasy style hammer for Titan Weapons, you know the ridiculous oversized one that would never work in reality. Currently we only have axes and swords in a fantasy style (even if the default sword does look a bit janky) but no hammers.
  17. Just because some builds have it does not mean that it doesn't need buffs. Repair really does need to have its recharge time cut down imo since it is a heal that only applies to henchmen, not to self or allies. For what it is the recharge really is aggressive.
  18. Fair enough, I missed that post since everyone else was like "Yeah I never take it since it's useless..." which, having played a bots/FF on live...yeah I gotta agree that it really needs a major buff or a complete rework. I'm not sure which guides he's thinking of...since heck even medicine is more effective I think.
  19. Personally my own buffs to Regen would be give it large absorbs on most of its heals, making them useful pre-fight like steampunkette suggested and turn IH back into a toggle. I get the feeling that powers like Dull Pain etc. Would be absorb instead of +max HP if they were made in modern CoH and not one of the 'classic' sets. I'd have it so that a Regen character could have like 75-80% of its HP bar as absorb since it has no other defenses.
  20. Literally EVERYONE in this thread is agreeing that repair needs a buff or a complete rework....what on earth are you talking about? What people are talking about is how people are working on getting the AI is in the midst of being looked at and talking about how the AI works.
  21. Well good luck and god speed William.
  22. Attuned and Catalyzed are basically the same thing. What you're thinking of is Attuned and Boosted (using the enhancement boosters to raise it up to +5). An IO cannot be both boosted and attuned.
  23. Bio armour is basically what Regen should be with more focus on the Absorb/regen side of things. Bio armour in offensive mode is actually less squishy than regen and it gives a large damage boost.
  24. We had any updates on how things are going via testing?
  25. Actually, having looked into it we've found that there isn't JUST a singular AI that governs pets but there are several 'configs' that govern pets. We've delved right into the code and found this out. There are, at some points, three different AI guidelines written by 3 different people in 3 different locations that apparently all seem to do roughly the same thing but via different ways of doing it, which may be the reason we see resulting conflicts. So saying it's 1 AI running everything is a little underestimating things, it's basically 3 different AI arguing over what the pets should be doing and how to do it in a tangled mess of code which will be a nightmare to untangle but it seems like we're making progress on untangling it, if very slowly.
