It seems to me that if you really want to stick to the aura represents power for your own characters, you could easily do so with the many costume change/save options we have. However, there is no need to press your way of playing a character on everyone else. Why restrict everyone else's choices? Maybe someone wants to play an alien that glows, or a young hero who doesn't realize they glow... or any other number of justifications for an aura or cape. Level locking something as minor as costume pieces and effects has always been nothing more than a silly metric to keep players coming back to a commercial game. It is completely unnecessary here in a volunteer, non-profit environment.

An easy way to find things is to use the black box when you are in select item mode. It's a search feature. For instance, if you enter "glass", all the items that have "glass" in the name will show. You can kind of see what you recently put into a room with the "current room" mode. I think new items are tagged onto the end of the bar/list. That's probably as close as you're gonna get at this time.

Did you know that the Ski Chalet is open?

Supergroup prestige turned back on

This is going in my signature. lol Okay. It's just the way I've always approached any game, really. I prefer games that I can set down and come back to without feeling like I've wasted my time. If it feels too much like I am endlessly grinding at another job, or if I feel like I'm getting nickle and dimed... yah, I tend to walk away. I don't want to see the City that I loved become like those other games out there. The City is different for a reason. -
I had problems with all dialogue boxes crashing my game: trainers, contacts, etc.,. But oddly, not the merit venders. Turned out to be a simple fix of putting the score executable on the list for my graphic chip. Had to go to the NVidia graphics control panel and add the executable, double checking the file path while we were at it. We did that by a simple browse and click. Also made sure to select the NVida processor (not the Intel processor). Checked all settings carefully. Everything worked smoothly after that.

I'm assuming you have added the score executable to the NVidia control window for your GForce? I had horrible lag and crashing until we finally figured out that simple fix.

Supergroup prestige turned back on

gawd no The problem with prestige is that it became a divisive metric. Smaller SG's were not able to build fun things. Creative builders were stuck with larger groups because builders don't actually play all that much... they build, and only larger groups had the resources that a creative builder needed. Prestige created a community of haves and have nots. Getting rid of it makes everyone truly equal. This is a game. It should not feel like a second job. -
I'm assuming you've logged out of the character, and back in by now? sort of a "reset"? Otherwise, double check the rank permissions and make sure you are the right rank. It should work. Only other reason it wouldn't might be if someone is already in the editor. I don't think two people can edit at the same time.

hee hee... I get the need to keep things neat and tidy... But then HOW would you sort them? Everyone sorts in a different way, so you would need something customizeable. Maybe not as easy as ya might think. I eventually succumbed to the way things are, and just use a series of binds that uses inspies in order of size. There are also binds to combine inspies, and when you get high enough to be running content where the smaller ones are useless, you can go to the P2W vendor and buy the dohicky that keeps them from dropping in your tray. Something for the future, though... maybe an interesting idea.

We used to have a TankHQ base on Justice for everyone to put their tank alts into. Has anyone done this on Excel? It would reduce the risk of losing names/bases when hopping servers.

Supergroup prestige turned back on

This has already been brought up, albeit in a slightly different form. The general consensus is... NO. NO, thankyouverymuch NO. -
Please excuse the cross post.

So, there has been mention that some folks were experiencing horrible movement lag, to the point of motion sickness. I was also suffering from this, which was boggling to me since I'm using the same laptop I played on during live. Nevertheless, I resigned myself to setting my graphics to "performance" and turning off Ultra settings completely, which I had not needed to do before. Then the last patch did something... and every dialogue box caused an immediate hard crash with a .dll notice. WTF??!!?? Been on the game for how many weeks and never had this happen. Long story short.... after several hours of troubleshooting, with frustration levels escalating, Hubby got the idea... See, my laptop has the on board Intel graphics chip AND a GForce GT chip. We'd heard there had been problems with the Intel chip, but I didn't worry about it because of my GForce chip. Problem was, we hadn't told the GForce chip to take care of the game! SO... We went to the NVidia control panel and had to add the score game executable to the list of programs. This was done with a simple browse and click. Then set the NVidia graphics options, and voila! all problems solved. My movement is smooth, game movement is smooth, graphics back to ultra, no dialogue crashes... It's a beautiful thing. Wanted to share, in case anyone else might have a similar situation.

First thing I'm thinking is double check the file path. There is an option to do that if you click on the little palm tree in the upper left corner. Then double check the manifest. Then re-validate files. That's about as far as my troubleshooting goes. Anything beyond that, I call for my resident geek. <3

Can you flip it on it's other axis? From the cheat sheet: Shift + Alt or Ctrl = hold for 360 spin

Coalitions "can" work ... but last I checked (Issue 23) there was a limit to the number of SGs that can be in a single coalition (10). And you are still only a member of one SG (presumably your own)
-
lol I'd completely forgotten about that. I do like to occasionally use SG mode as a quick costume color change, but the tailor will not change your SG colors. So if you're in SG mode when you go to the tailor, you may not see the changes you want to see. lol

Freakenstein, those are awesome. I am assuming you are using the fog sky effect, did you use the indoor sky volume or the default sky command? Someone on Discord was saying the two settings don't like to play nice with each other. I've just barely gotten my base functional. I filled the largest room with pillars to build on top of, and kept a side hall for the functional items while I work. It's not pretty (yet).
-
There is currently no way for a character to belong to two SG's (and therefore have their own base/housing). Only way to have independent housing is to start up a solo SG/Base. I have no idea if it would be a possibility in the future, but if it could happen, I think it might be a while.

Someone else in base building had this exact thing happen. The screenshots were on the clipboard instead of in the screenshot file. No idea why. Seems like a bug?

accept or decline teleports, accept or decline trade invites, dismiss mission intro text popups, etc. /bind Y "dialog_yes$$dialog_answer Accept" /bind N "dialog_no$$dialog_answer Decline" Useful for hunts: /bind alt+g beginchat /bind g target_custom_next enemy alive {replace g as necessary} Pressing alt+g will present you with the whole target_custom bind in your chat line. Then you just need to add the (partial) name of the enemy to complete the bind. Remember it needs to be an enemy name/type, not a rank/level. Hunt the specific enemy using the g key.

I hope you don't mind me re-sizing it a little ;-)

As has been mentioned, there is a search function... From the i25 patch notes... Added Search function to UI. Clicking on 'Place Item' reveals the search bar. Remove query from search bar, to regain access to the complete base library. You should be able to find it with a keyword such as "ice" or "flame" or "ice and flame"

In one of my old bases, I had the 'porter room laid out in such a way that the porters were under a raised ceiling along the edge of the room while the main body of the room had a lowered ceiling. This created a place for me to hide the arcane beacons on the inner edge of the raised portion, and put the tech beacons in a more visible place to mark the 'porters. However, now with the new commands, you can get even more creative with hiding those beacons (as long as they remain "attached"). Heck, you can make them attach to the floor and put a plant on top of them, if you wanted. lol
