  1. Do you have a mustache that you habitually twirl?
  2. The question was regarding indoor skies, so that is what I focused on. To clarify, there are two options for skies; indoor and world/default. The world/default sky can be changed with /base_default_sky # (where #= 0-15) The skyboxes are smaller volumes of sky usually for use in rooms with a bit of open ceiling. The default sky can also be seen with open ceilings. The good news is, you can have it all... You can have the larger world/default sky set to one thing, and then have multiple different skies set indoors. Heck, you can even set skyboxes OUTSIDE if you want. Some folks like the multiple sky option. So, it comes down to a matter of preference and what you are trying to create.
  3. We have all these lovely new household items, kitchen, bedroom, bath... but I haven't seen any towels.
  4. Bases are instanced maps but, as I understand it, they have code that is different from mission maps (and AE?). Basically, working doors have behavior code built into them that breaks bases. That is the simplest explanation that I've seen Leandro give.
  5. Only problem with that is that coalie members cannot access storage. They can use 'porters and crafting, but not the salvage/inspie/enhancie bins. This is a safeguard against griefing. You could still create an SG for salvage, and then have the "manager" email things via global email. But, like I said, with all the salvage a character can hold, you could do the same thing (use email) without a base.
  6. You cannot enter your base? Or you get stuck when entering? There is no line command for starting over. You can delete everything (which requires you to actually be in the base), or you can kick everyone from the SG which should "delete" the whole thing, and start over that way. If you can be a little more specific about what is happening, we might be able to help. Or maybe a GM can move the entrance for you to access the base.
  7. Lovely lounge, Bizi. Ocean view. Are you going to add boats? Love the dueling pianos. What did you use for the white stripes on the floor?
  8. Do not fear... you cannot delete a salvage unit (incl inspie and enhancie) if it has stuff in it. There is, however, a limit of 18 salvage units per base. So choose wisely on what you decide to store. We can store quite a bit more on our characters as well as the AH these days.
  9. I usually go for 600, but 700 is okay too. ;D Skyoholic, is that a steam fx or fog fx?
  10. It's a common request for bases. I end up doing a lot of crafting in RWZ due to access to the merit vender. The base portal there also makes it a quick hop in and out of base as needed.
  11. Storage is limited because every time you add a piece of slavage/inspie/enhancie, you are literally adding those things to the map itself. There is a limit of items that can be added to the base map, because too many items break the base. This was actually tested back in the day. The item limit for salvage is factored into the max item limit that has already been determined for bases. The only way I can see to raise salvage would be to lower the max item limit.... When you consider how much salvage you can keep on your character and in the AH, I don't think raising the SG salvage is going to balance out.
  12. The AH cannot be accessed in instanced missions (which bases are), because it puts excess load on the mapservers. This has been the case since... always. Doubtful it will change without recoding... everything.
  13. Color the walls a dark color. In select style mode, click on a section of wall. A color palette should show in the object window (you may need to switch tabs in the window). You should be able to apply your colors to room or base as desired. Also note that certain styles of wall have darker shading than others.
  14. To create an indoor open sky... 1. Go into select item mode. Select a section of the room. Use the object window to raise (remove) the ceilings to the highest level. Hit the "apply to room" button at the bottom of the window. 2. Go into select style mode, high ceilings tab. Select open sky. It should automatically apply to the entire room. 3. To change your indoor sky (not the default/world sky); go back into select item mode, skies tab. Select a sky box and place it in the room. 4. If you want to switch to a different sky box, be sure to delete the existing one first. Go to current room mode and scroll until you see the sky. Click on the sky to select then hit delete, or hit the sell button. Items are added to the end of the scroll as they are placed. So depending on when you set the sky and when you decide to delete it will determine where it is in the scroll.
  15. I've also notice weirdness with the history window. I'll click on the "find" button on an item I have stored or selling. It will show a history. If I click some where off the button, in the item's box, another history will show. Sometimes, if I click the "find" button a second time, NO history will show. It's definitely glitchy.
  16. I agree that the buffs seem short. I remember getting on a TF team and hanging out in my base until the team was filled and nearly ready to go, so I could craft a buff that would last through (most of) the TF. It was really frustrating when the buff would wear off before the TF was completed. "Oh, I know it's the last mish.. but I need to go to my base and buff up again!" thhppppt!
  17. The only wrinkle I can think of for accessing salvage via the crafting tables is that it might allow non-sg members to access your salvage that way. An unscrupulous person could easily wipe out your salvage. AFAIK, storage racks do sort alphabetically automatically. Not sure what you mean by tables not working... what tables?
  18. Exiting from the Base Portal (inside or outside the Base) is a RANDOM radial direction. Really? Because it's been pretty consistent for me. There must be some kind of directionality to it, because the base portal in RWZ is tucked next to a wall... and I almost never run into it when I enter the RWZ. Also, I remember back in the days of desk stacking that the desks almost always came out facing the same direction. In order to "break" them, you had to make sure they were facing east (which usually required a spin). Then you had to spin them some more (hold & spin, set down, repeat x2). I dunno, but it seems to me that some kind of directionality is in play here.
  19. ??? Just exactly who are you claiming to represent? Because it ain't me
  20. BTW, this makes for a nifty transporter power. Pick a TF (say, Posi) Set lock your team (so it's just you) GO! (when you enter the queue, you will be ported to Posi, and the "team" will disband) Voila! You've just ported from Atlas to Steel... Use to port to other difficult to get to zones (I'm looking at you, Cim)
  21. I've noticed that once I get the Rapid Response badge, I have to log the toon out next to a base portal for a while to "charge" it. Only then does it appear in my powers tab. I thought it came with a certain number of uses before it needed to be recharged?
  22. I found it in the Powers window. Had to drag it out to a tray. And I think the P2W version is per character.
  23. Bases are an art form. All art is personal in some way. When we share our art, we share ourselves. Therefore, it is painful when our art is not appreciated, or worse, destroyed by others.
  24. Not that I'm aware of. I think Coalies can use 'porters, crafting, and mission items... but not storage.
  25. I noticed that I enter at least one of my bases facing south. Have not checked others. I do remember, back in the day of stacking desks, that the desks usually came out facing a certain direction. In order to "break" them, you had to spin them to face east... THEN you had to spin them some more. It makes me wonder if all items have some kind of directional code built into them. Dunno. Just Hypothesizing.
