  1. It's been quite some time since I logged into the game. I do have my game account name, but have forgotten my password. How can I go about either retrieving it or re-setting it? Nevermind, I think I found it.... I'm a derp-a-derp
  2. p-string weirdness... happened back in the day all the time.
  3. daayuum ... sorry to hear that.
  4. Double check that the homecoming exe is added to your graphics card "priority list". I had window crashing issues on my laptop which has both an Intel chip and an NVidia chip. Had to go to the NVidia control panel and add the homecoming exe to the list (and set the desired graphics for it as well).
  5. Gotcha... Of course. Hence, the Echo cities workaround (derp!) But what about using the crystal to access/start missions?
  6. Hmmmm... according to the P-Wiki: Is this outdated info? I know a character is now allowed to be in the zone at a lower level (10?), but don't you have to be higher (25?) to start an Ouro mish (regardless if it is started via base pillar or Ouro pillar) ?
  7. Honestly, we've been hearing this for weeks. I've been sitting on an extensive base building manual because I don't know how to format it for the new forums. And yes, I always enjoyed perusing the art and multimedia forums. Creativity is contagious. Soon™ is getting less cool as time passes.
  8. This is correct. The number that the game appends to your word is your SG ID number. You can change the word any time with the slash command, but the number will always be the same.
  9. I could swear I saw a screenie of tintable blocks being tested. Dunno if they will actually materialize, but they looked pretty nifty. Clusters of pieces would be nice, but I think I'd rather see a function where we can create our own cluster/group items. Either way... same idea. Rename teleport points might be tricky, because you'd also have to rename the beacons. Alternatively, would love to have clickable items with editable text popups. Have a feeling that's a long shot, though.
  10. Snow, sand, lava, and a few other textures have all been mentioned in the Base Requests thread. ;D
  11. Love the "forge" for a crafting/salvage room. Hawt. ;-p If I recall, the forges were tables that you could craft raid items with. Since those items are now free decorative items, I think the crafting is disabled for them.
  12. I honestly can't say that I've had this similar experience. BUT, My base is so far pretty low on item count. Will keep an eye on it as I add more to it (and I do have quite a bit planned for it).
  13. Well, /tells and discord are kinda similar. Though some might just have their settings at "super private" or "no notifications". *shrug* I dunno. I'm not on FB, and I generally don't put my game email out there (and I rarely check it anymore). I was never one for really getting overly involved in the social platforms (I didn't do CoH Faces, no Twitter, no Instagram, etc.,.) As for the forums, I know some folks who avoid them, some who check them periodically, and some who check them regularly. It may be a case of folks just getting the messages late and then figuring it didn't matter anymore. Or, maybe ghosting is just the newest way for people to indicate they are not interested (which I would agree is kinda rude).
  14. It's .... kinda messy right now. I'd love to see a consolidated and organized list of some sort... maybe like the passcode sheet... that people could add to, or someone would be willing to maintain. But I could see that getting blown up, too (because we want ALL the shineys!). lol
  15. While it does sound really cool, I imagine that would take quite a bit of coding. It would have to be a new item, as opposed to what has been offered so far (in-game assets). Remembering that the staff and coders are all volunteers, I'm not sure how soon we'd be able to get new assets like this. Keep it on the wish list, though.
  16. What Raevyn has tried to tell you is that the measure for a PC's automatic step is quite small. So anything you use will need to be sunk into the floor if that is your objective. Personally, I would not use a floor tile for a platform. I might use the roman blocks (though you need to fit them together because of missing sides), maybe a dock, or a tech platform, or even some of the stone blocks or altars in the arcane tab. Heck, you could even use desks or cabinets. You could always use a "foundation item" and then top it with a floor tile if you really really like the look of the floor tile. Lay the foundation items, top with tiles, top with your decor/tables/whatnot. To save item count, if you've used multiple items for the foundation; delete the middle foundation items but leave the ones along the edges. No matter what you decide to use for your foundation, it will need to be sunk into the floor, or you will need to use stairs or ramps, to get that automatic step up.
  17. Even if it's easy to miss tells or mentions in chat (game or discord), ghosting does seem to be a rising trend. My excuses aren't any better than anyone else's; I usually miss messages because I've had my nose buried in the base editor. However, if I see that I've missed a message, I do try to respond with an apology for missing it. It's just a courtesy to acknowledge the communication. Whether it's a larger trend, I couldn't really say. All I know is that you're not supposed to ghost Nick Fury.
  18. You might want to take a look at rotating binds: https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/The_Incomplete_and_Unofficial_Guide_to_/bind#Using_.22Rotating_Binds.22
  19. Pretty much, yes. Just use /altinvite Charactername to add them to your roster. Bases are alignment neutral, so you can have heroes, villies, and even preats (until they have to choose, of course) on the roster. You can set your porters for all the necessary zones. Just remember that zones are still alignment focused, so heroes will not see villie zones and visa versa. Rogues and vigilantes should be able to see all zones.
  20. Will do, thank you. In tinkering with it a bit, I noticed that most of the time you only need to use the last portion of the file name and without the .ogg. For instance: the file AtlasPark_AtlasPlaza.ogg only needs AtlasPlaza to run with the /sgmusic command. However, some files did require using the full file name. So, it might take a couple tries to get it right. I was unable to get a normal file to loop by adding that parameter. Also, most of the files marked "unused" do not want to play.
  21. There are a few builders who will contract a base for inf. I am not one of them, as I am way too slow at it. I would say, for a large base, be prepared for some sticker shock. Base building takes a lot of time and expertise, and serious builders who contract out do take that into account. If you are not particularly loaded with inf, I would go with klokwerkaos suggestion and dig into it yourself. Keep it small, simple, and functional to begin with. Set up a functional space that works for basic needs, and a building space to acquaint yourself with the editor. Tinker in the building space before embarking on your grand plan. By keeping the functional space small, and then building in the background, it will not be so bad when you need to tear it down to incorporate it into your larger plan.
  22. SupaFreak, that is a beautiful base. Loving the mystical garden feel to it all. Would you mind re-sizing the screenies? Toggle the view with the icon to see the bbcode tags Add in a width parameter in the first image tag of each picture like so; [img width=500] It would really help folks who might be viewing on smaller screens.
  23. This might be a useful link from the P-wiki: Chat Window You can create new tabs and edit them to separate various channels out to your particular needs.
