Right!  Which is why I'd like to see new UP.  New goals, new challenges, new (non-exclusionary) rewards that have no effect on gameplay.

    What does UP mean?

I think misunderstood Yomo's comment. I think he was joking that @Techno was asking us to do his homework.

Still, the more I think about it, the more I should have just said "of course I'll be happy to help. Please send me your ATOs while I roll around in my inf pile. Do you have any friends who'd like to swap the brute ATOs.".

But @Yomo Kimyata is right though, it is profitable in that way, with @MunkiLord's numbers.

    Just now, Yomo Kimyata said:

Actually, I was asking someone else to do the homework for me!  It seemed like a profitable swap on the surface (I don't deal in the superior market -- not enough volume) but since I don't get out of bed for less than 50mm, I was hoping one of you could let me know how profitable it actually was.

As @Yomo Kimyata mentioned, it's low volume, but the margins are bigger.  Separately, it's tedious to catalyze then unslot.  Sometimes that tedium is worth 4 million each.  Sometimes its not, depending on how much sleep I had.

No, I get that there are badges you don't want to pursue.  Why pursue those badges at all?  Is there an uberbadge for having every "official" badge?  I'm trying to understand the badger mentality and I don't understand why if there are badges that are too tedious to accomplish, you still do them.  Is it for the title, or for bragging rights in the forums with screenshots?  I'm definitely not criticizing; I'm just trying to see your point of view.  thanks!

I'm with you 90%.  I only get badges for power increases  i.e. 4 passiave accolades and sometimes Geass of Kind Ones to tank Psi damage alphas back in the day.

  5. Like World of Warcraft, give me a way to show it off.

In addition to badges, give us powers!

    Entourage

5 billion to buy a "sprint power" pimp-mobile that has an entourage of women (or men) holding bags of money, following me around as I travel to missions. These people serve limitless drinks (dual inspirations only affecting you, not the team) that you can freely buy. Run speed is normal Sprint speed.

    Jet

10 billion to buy a "flight power" Concord or Black Bird jet that serves limitless drinks (dual inspirations only affecting you, not the team) that you can freely buy.  Flight speed has After Burner already. Also allows you to.... CARRY ONE PASSENGER WITH YOU!!!!

    Alfred Jarvis

15 billion to buy a "pet power" that summons Alfred Jarvis, a vendor/trainer/crafting table/dual inspiration selling/P2W Power Selling/Ouroboros crystal quest giving combat butler.  If you go /afk, he starts practicing his kunai/chains/sword/ninja shadow clone techniques/summons a mini gundam and flies away.

    Gundam

20 billion to buy a "Super Speed, Super Jump, Flight Power".... you become a Gundam pilot.  Morphs you into a huge "Gundam" (like halloween costume toggles) complete with beam saber, rifle, dressed as Sub-Zero or Scorpion.  His new F7 line... GET OVER HERE!!!  Over course, this "travel power" allows you to carry one passenger with you

    Gluttony

25 billion buy a permanent power to exceed the 2 billion inf cap by 1 inf

    Plebian Repel

50 billion to buy a "toggle" power that repels anyone with less than 1 billion in their inventory.  Repel radius is 8, like all PBAOE damage auras

    Life

100 billion to buy a real life

Yes!!!  People would have all these converters they don't know how to use and they'd lie fallow.  Ebil marketeers would starve because they could only convert a hundredth as many as they used to.  Prices would increase towards the soft cap based on merits.  It would be chaos!  AND SO MUCH FUN!!!

    No daddy no!

Don't make me actually play the game!

  7. @Werner straight forward, you're providing anecdotal directionless detail that provides no further insight into answering the OP's question without the OP already knowing the answer.

All your answers to the OP are on the fence

    5 hours ago, Werner said:

Yeah, most of the time I'm not at the damage cap. But I'm often at the damage cap.

What are you saying?  Are you often at the damage cap, or most of the time not?  It's like i'm talking to David Mitchell from Would I Lie To You.

    2 hours ago, Werner said:

So I'd suggest it on a damage-oriented normal content build. But I wouldn't suggest it on a survival-oriented normal content build, or perhaps surprisingly, on a dedicated farming build. I think I'm very much in the minority on that last suggestion, though.

Aside from tanking Lord Recluse, what +4x8 content requires a survival-oriented builds?  Reach 45% s/l defense, get a heal, and we're done.  Even blasters can solo +4x8 with occasional death.  Notable exceptions include ITF defense cascade failure, end-management versus specialized mobs, psychic damage, pure energy damage, etc.  It's a case-by-case depending on the mobs, hence why level 50 PI +4x8 groups choose Council.  We both know these minute details, but the OP is requesting a general answer, to which you've provided anecdotal directionless detail.

    5 hours ago, Werner said:

He's admittedly not my most survivable Brute. But he's very solid.

What does this even mean?  Is it he survivable or not? What makes SS/Fire more or less survivable?  We both know these answers.  Your answer is anecdotal and directionless.

    5 hours ago, Werner said:

...and his massive AoE damage (admittedly much lower outside of fire farms, but still nothing to sneeze at)...

What does this even mean?  Is his AoE damage massive or low?  Why or why not?  How is the OP going to understand what you just wrote without prior understanding?

    2 hours ago, Werner said:

Rage normally helps damage output overall, but perhaps by less than some people may think, perhaps typically 10% to 20% in normal content. Good, but not great, and on a survival-oriented build, or if you just hate the crash, perhaps not worth the crash. And as damage bonuses climb, Rage helps less and less, and eventually even starts hurting damage output as you approach the damage cap. So when farming with a highly-efficient SS/Fire build and using keybinds/macros to convert inspirations to reds and chug them down, you can expect similar clear times with and without Rage. So I'd suggest it on a damage-oriented normal content build. But I wouldn't suggest it on a survival-oriented normal content build, or perhaps surprisingly, on a dedicated farming build. I think I'm very much in the minority on that last suggestion, though.

If you point out these problems with SS/, why are you suggesting the OP SS/Fire?  Why don't you suggest Rad/Fire, or Spines/Fire?  SS/Fire is your answer, except you're not using Rage?  Then go Rad or Spines??

After all the details you've mentioned, what clear direction have you given the OP?

  8. 17 hours ago, Unrandom said:

Hmmm... That is a good question.

After reading a bit more: what would be best for AE fire farms, but also great for +4x8 endgame content?

@Unrandom You're asking a very generalized question ("great for +4x8", and "best for AE Fire Farms"), for which there are 3 specific answers.  I will also answer for iTrials since everyone gets to iTrials after boredom of +4x8 settles in.

    +4x8

Assuming you have the Influence to buy IOs to reach 45% S/L softcap, due to SS's rage increasing your damage, SS/Any-armor-with-damage aura is best for +4x8.  @Werner makes a good suggestion of Super Strength/Fire Armor due to the increased damage from SS's Rage, and /Fire Armor's Burn AOE damage hitting everyone.

Other Armor sets with damage aura include /Bio /Rad Armor /Dark Armor /Ice Armor (this one is relatively bad though, and /Stone Armor (this is really bad)

    AE Farms

Spines/Fire is the undisputed champion of AE Fire Farming.  Spines is the only Primary Power set that has a damage aura, and /Fire's Burn AOE power hits everyone constantly.

    Titan Weapon/Bio Armor

TW/BIo is a well known combo to be the best at highest single target AND AOE damage across all power sets.  /Bio has a damage aura and has the ability to buff all damage by a certain percentage in exchange for lowering your resists, and TW/ is the highest single target and AOE damage.

    iTrials

If you ever set foot into iTrials, you will need better energy damage mitigation + a good heal.  I recommend either /Dark Armor (strongest self-affecting-heal in the game) or /Rad armor for good resists and high life regen.

Could you say more about this?  I'm not seeing that at all.

Winter IOs, especially the Targeted AOE ones are selling at 20-21 million.

Some Purple IOs did drop in price to 20-21 million, but seem to have risen back to 24-25 million (someone even bought at 28 million even though supply is over 50)

As of this morning, I think some of the prices have risen back to normal.  Or it may just be left over buying from night time when supply is lower.

  10. After all is said and done, markets seemed to have settled thusly:

Things that have not lowered in price

    1) Capital salvage (salvage used to do things) such as Converters, Enhancement Boosters, Catalysts

    2) Salvage salvage (rare, uncommon, common)

    3) Recipes

    4) Though they sell slower, people still buy Catalyzed Winter and Catalyzed ATOs at insane high prices because ?

Things that have lowered in price

    1) Very Rare lowered about 2-3 million

    2) IOs in general lowered about 2-3 million

    Odd things

    1) Someone flooded the PVP IO market lol

    2) Sticky prices on recipes but not on the IOs themselves

    Anyone else notice this?

  11. The Winter IOs, especially the high selling ones Targeted AOE and PBAOE seem to have settled into 20-22 million range.  Others (melee, ranged, etc) are even lower.

1.2 (IO/pack)  x  0.9 (AH fees)  x  22 million revenue = 23.76 million revenue after all converting is done (not including cost of converters)

If people were buying Winter Lord packs and selling, the break even cost is:

25 million revenue = 1.2 (IO/pack)  x  0.9 (AH fees)  x  Selling amount.  Selling amount = 23.14 million (not including cost of converters).

However, the inventory of Winter IOs is not lacking.  I conjecture either people are selling from 1) Merits,  2) Left over Winter Lord Packs from Xmas (now decreased in value),  or 3) They don't know what they're doing.  It is my understanding that people are converting Merits --> Winter IOs.

  12. Anyone have a macro to open the Heroes and Villains, Rogues, or Winter packs?

With prices on Winter IOs dropping to 20 million, it is not profitable to even open Winter packs and convert anymore.  The tedium itself is just over the top.

This would be a great idea, provided that there's a suitable bias in favour of the house.  Since the AH tax is 10%, I would suggest that as the minimum house margin.  This would be good for the game economy, and also Johnny Sonata is not going to be giving away his inf.

Like real casinos, make it 70/30.  Return 70% of all influence gambled, in medium and large jackpot-type winnings.

    Devs, make it so!
