Bet those times when adjusted for the ole Nostalgia Lens filter were Higher than a lot of the times we see now.
I don't remember tankers in the sub 4 minute range back in the day
Even ST only Stalkers aren't worthless.
My MA Stalker kills bosses like nobody's business exemped to any level.
You end up hunting bosses though. Finishing them off for anyone stuck fighting them who isn't as ST awesome as you are. Which is basically everyone.
My STJ Stalker just outclasses the MA in real COH fighting though (past the early levels anyway, hard to beat Storm Kick, Crane Kick and Cobra Strike by level 8). Since then I can just run ahead and solo while the team is deciding what costume to wear or whatever it is people who sit at the entrance do.
Yeah so at half life you are capped to S/L even with no ATO. Now if only Tankers got an OLD school Blaster defiance ATO proc ..
My SR tanker has no self heal. Can just Regen (not built for it specifically, just normal rate) back to full even when swarmed.
END isn't especially a problem any more than any other set that has no END tool.
Bursty isn't a thing past a maximum of 30 seconds in this game.
Most likely a lot less.
Not even Blaster Melee is Bursty beyond a few attacks.
So it really doesn't enter into Pylon times.
I can never slot Tankers as "Tankers"
My builds look more like what you'd see on a Scrapper.
Maybe with even less slots devoted towards increasing survival. After all, damn Tankers are nigh-indestructible.
So my attacks and damage will be the focus.
Taunt should reduce their range too helping you draw them. Seems like a good tactic.
=============
Arguably SR on Brutes is the best version of SR.
Tanker numbers for SR are actually too high, a lot is wasted for most content.
Brutes still get the really good Power Pick Progression, with Melee, Ranged and AOE toggle defenses by level 20.
Brutes get a Taunt Aura in Evasion as well.
The sad thing about Rage is its not as good on Brute as Tankers due to the lower scale and Fury eclipsing it.
Seems weird tbh since "Rage" is such an Iconic Brutish thing.
Would you not be at the damage Cap with 2xRage+2xGuassian's typically?
I'm more interested in the idea from a sort of esoteric principle
Invulnerability controlling when Guassian's fires seems .. elegant somehow.
Sort of like Rage being up all the time compared to build-up does.
Skipping the fighting pool ..
and so on.
I would probably build it for damage to the extent it could be though. Inv is more than tough enough, I imagine just the set bonuses that come out of having Purples, ATOs, etc will make it nigh unkillable. The main goal would be perma-hasten in order to feed double-rage.
I don't really care about pylon times. I care about run off ahead at 54x8 and smash up mobs times.
Enough Purples should take care of the Exemplar thing.
Guassians definitely can stack.
It stacks if used in tactics. Notably run ahead of the group, then once they catch up it will often double fire.
It stacks when used in build up also. Happens often on my Stalker due to the ATO.
Which is nice, double build up plus double guassians crushing uppercut crit is a very effective boss smasher.
In another thread (I think) they mentioned it triggers based on enemies affected.
Sounds like perhaps an Enemy triggered variant of how it works in Tactics
It works really well in Night Widow Tactics from my personal experience (Bigger Radius). Works fairly well in normal Tactics from my SR/SS.
It must have both meanings.
Its like any other super hero/villain name that is a descriptor rather than a popular name- You pick it for the meaning.
If you have the name "Cannibal" as a Villain name. It doesn't mean they called people eating people by something else entirely.
