I flat out reject the possibility that a Vet level 100 *anything* is turning out obsolete without the error being on the individual player’s end. That’s absurd.
Are you acknowledging that this request is only for tri-form kheldians then? If not, no logical reason to bring up the outlier.
Also, both my khelds are all human but.. well-played tri formers don’t seriously carry a lot of toggles do they? That sounds like awful playing to me.
You’re good man. I don’t really appreciate the type of thinking buried in the very last bit because it insinuates motive (“opposed to progress”), but I do understand why you made the post in the first place out of frustration that people seem to be writing off ideas you like a little too quickly.
Sorry Replacement, but you don’t get to make sweeping declarations that all of a subset of arguments are invalid and that critics are simply opposed to progress. No logic in that kind of thinking.
I’m sorry but if you still can’t see why we can’t have powers firing simultaneously for obvious balance reasons after reading responses to this thread, I think we’re at a loss and pretty much done here.
Yeah assuming this cap is effective I think this suggestion would be fine. +400% isn’t much higher than players are already with IO’s, hasten, FF procs, etc. As long as the individual inspiration value is small I see no real issue. They’ve already made some powers impossible to perma (T9’s) with the current cap.
And already, quite literally, that’s all fire brutes have had to do for years. Turn on toggles, put burn on auto, go make a sandwich, baddies fall over “arrested”. Just amuses me that your post isn’t even hyperbole to some specialized builds (and circumstances..)
If you think IO’s and incarnates are the only thing that has made this game easier, you haven’t played very long at all. There have been countless changes that have dumbed down the game. Blanket power buffs to bring older things in line as a result of power creep, ability to disable bosses entirely in solo play, absolute erasure of formerly significant travel times, etc. are a few examples that come to mind immediately.
Yeah if you have such fundamental problems with the game’s most basic mechanisms this might not be the game for you. It sounds like you’re in a world of problems the second you log in.
Darkness Affinity *is* Dark Miasma essentially. Would be silly to give an AT both. I think Darkness Affinity is rather overpowered but hey this is Homecoming, lots of things are.
I only started jumping in these threads periodically because a handful of posters continue to post either (1) “there is no reason to make a brute” or (2) “brutes are useless”. As soon as people stop posting this preposterous hyperbole that their own data contradicts, the sooner we can all move on.
I think Bill has implicitly suggested exactly that considering the perceived imbalance between brute’s extra damage and tanker’s extra mitigation is something he’s been ranting about forever now.
