  1. I wouldn’t really say GW2 was really any more strict about roles than this. More or less every class had the option to be high damage vs tanky vs supportive. Pretty much all 3 light armor classes could be built to be insanely tanky. Agree with others though, there are nuances down to the power/powerset level that make it not super helpful to define roles/niches by AT.
  2. Last time regen’s weakness came up I hadn’t played one since early live days. Now that I have an ice/regen brute I’m afraid to say I see no problems with the set.
  3. Cannot wait to see what y’all do with the other origin pools now that we’ve arrived at such awesome buffs for this whole pool 🙂
  4. Close the gap? Absolutely yes. As much or more? I’ve never seen evidence of it personally.
  5. That was their assertion, and yet their own data pointed to brutes having higher clear times. So their point really boiled down to “tank mitigation >>>> brute mitigation so much more than brute damage > tank damage [and that could constitute a problem as a matter of opinion]” NOT that tank damage was actually better than brute damage. Which is kind of fair, but the implication that all balancing formulae must follow linear equations is ultimately dubious.
  6. Admittedly I always grab Ageless Core on all my stormies, and, if playing below 50, I deal with it by not using additional toggles like fighting/leadership at the lower levels. If I don’t have Ageless, I just run Steamy Mist/Super Speed/Combat Jumping and things are ok. Great thing about Ageless Core is there’s more or less no build it doesn’t completely mitigate end problems for. For instance, a lot of people are raising eyebrows at the two new Sorcery toggles, but you can pile those on top of everything else and Ageless would still make the problem vanish.
  7. I tried to read this thread but I think I need an adult.
  8. Thank you for always providing the raw data!
  9. On cast, yes. Not constantly. But if you have multiple procs you just keep casting em 🙂
  10. I guess it’s not like you can’t still have other FF procs going. My Ill/Storm chains LS-Tornado-Gale-Psinado for more or less perma FF.
  11. Sure, but what kind of loon isn’t slotting this bad boy with BOTH KB>KD AND FF +RECH anyway 😉
  12. The mere possibility of a pool power EVER having DPA close to a fast snipe should make everyone’s pants a bit moist, I’d think.. That’s incredible.
  13. Oh yeah. That one. I wish I could justify it because the animation is beautiful. I guess I have “set is amazing as a whole [but maybe doesn’t get there because of every power]” and “set has 9 whole powers I’d rather not miss” separate in my mind. Though Trick Arrow satisfies both criteria now 😄 Thunderclap definitely ranks 9th. Then Snow Storm and O2 fight over 7th/8th. The rest I have never skipped (now that Gale = FF proc and Sudden Accel proc), though I have considered skipping Hurricane (but not gone through with it).
  14. Sorry, Storm is an A+ set in need of no buffs.
  15. I stopped reading here since we’re already in the realm of misinformation. I have not and would never call Flurry perfectly functional in the current meta. Aid Self is pretty damn powerful nowadays though, so you got me there.
  16. I said no such thing and yet you’ve repeated this lie multiple times. Please cease and desist. I think the words you’re twisting are the ones where I stated that I was more in favor of the change after reading the various arguments, but ofc that doesn’t equate to this slimy little smear you’re doing here. I’d move on, if I were you.
  17. I assure you I already have several characters with the live versions of these powers.
  18. I have already addressed the popularity issue several times in other posts and why popularity and effectiveness are not as strongly correlated as one might think. But that has nothing to do with the post you quoted which asks how a few protestors can constitute the level of consensus that demands GM reconsideration. I know I’ll be selecting Sorcery more often once these changes go live.
  19. Think you might have hit quote on the wrong thing. This answer has nothing to do with anything I typed.
  20. And there was plenty of disagreement from people who actually use RoP. Just how many people do you think play this game that leads you to think the little handful of protestors constitutes some sort of consensus?
  21. Irradiated Ground is absolutely OP with procs. If it’s half that good it’ll be in a great place.
  22. If you want to dismantle the game’s core design principles, other servers that have already done so are the way to go as opposed to trying to spoil one of the relatively conservative servers for players that enjoy its approach.
  23. Your break frees double as high resistance buffs? ... Can I have some?
  24. It might very well be a garbage argument were it not for the indisputable fact that it’s a core design principle and has been from day one.
  25. Do you mean to imply that a couple dozen angry forum PvP’ers doesn’t constitute a perfect statistical sample? I’m shocked 😉
