It would be cool, but you know some pranksters would deliberately put in the silliest costumes they could come up with, just for the lulz. Maybe it could be used as a prize in costume contests? Winner gets added to the cell block randomizer...
-
Just a quick "Thank you!" to everyone involved in this impressive display of creativity. I can't even imagine how many man-hours went into putting this together. Well done!

Nothing wrong with taking a break, if you need one. I dropped out for almost a year -- I'd been grinding my way through the Incarnate system, got Tier 4s in every slot, and it burned me out big time. Hearing the news of the NCSoft license deal made me nostalgic, so I popped back in, and now I'm having fun just trying out builds and running normal story arcs again.
-
Yes, but WHY? What is the problem you are trying to solve? You already have the option of selling salvage to the auction house, so what would this arbitrary restriction add to the game? I wouldn't mind being able to do that too, actually... Wait, THAT'S the reason? Kinda burying the lede, there. Sorry, my dude, sounds like a skill issue.
-
I'm not sure I follow your reasoning here. What are you trying to accomplish? Personally, anything that can be sold at a vendor, I do, just to get rid of it quickly. Why shouldn't I be able to?

I try to keep a couple of Wakies and Breakfrees handy, in case of emergency. Reds, Yellows, Oranges, and Purples tend to get used as soon as they drop. I might hang onto a few if I know a tough Boss is coming up. Mostly, I just let the tray fill up with Blues and Greens, because when I need those...I tend to need a lot of them in a hurry. 😄

Enhancement Diversification? 😄

Yes. Also, any time the number 69 comes up in any context, you are legally required to nod knowingly and say, "Niiiiiiice..."
-
Not sure how much more clearly I can spell it out for ya -- a "1337" Boss gave him a "1337" amount of experience. It's a funny coincidence.

Ghostcrawler Calls Streamlined Leveling in MMORPGs a Mistake
JKCarrier replied to Lunar Ronin's topic in Video Games
To me, levelling up is the fun part. I enjoy trying out new power combos, gradually unlocking the abilities, and seeing how the character grows and develops. Especially the early levels, when you're levelling up every few minutes, is like constant little jolts of serotonin. While it's true that eventually you've seen all the major story arcs, there's enough of them (especially factoring in redside and goldside) that I can mix them up and not feel like I'm travelling the exact same path each time. It doesn't feel like grinding, unless I'm going for badges (which I do occasionally when the mood strikes me). The "Endgame" is a complete bust, IMHO. I played a bunch of the Incarnate Trials back on live, and they were uniformly awful. The idea of running a "hardmode" TF makes the veins in my forehead start throbbing. Now, if you actually enjoy the Endgame the most (you weirdo), I can understand why you'd want to fast-forward to it. But to me, hitting level 50 pretty much means "time to start a new alt". Which is cool, because I like starting new alts. -
Can confirm. My "main" is currently sitting at 1283 badges, and I'm a scrub who runs at -1/x1 and folds like an accordion whenever I run into an EB.
-
On the other hand, I don't understand why this information would be of any interest or use to anyone.
-
It never hurts to ask, but I imagine if the devs were willing/able to make that information public, they would have already. I wouldn't be surprised if there were NDAs involved.

I looked through the patch notes, and the accompanying discussion thread, and couldn't find any official word on the motivation for the changes. Was there some specific problem that was occurring due to the Council being "weaker" than some other faction (I personally never noticed this alleged discrepancy)?

This Was Your Life...? [ID: 64453] Heroic

This description is probably the best advertising I could ask for. 😄 Thanks for taking the time to check it out! -
Set up a Kheldian embassy/cultural center.
JKCarrier replied to Greycat's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I love this idea. Maybe even send new Kheld characters there for a specialized tutorial? I know the complexity of the class has always put me off... -
Say, does this "Council randomly turning into Werewolves" thing only happen at certain levels? Because I just took my lvl 33 Scrapper through Jose Escalante's Council arc, and I didn't see it happen once. The Galaxies weren't rezzing, either.

So why no balance pass on Halloween EBs after 2 years?
JKCarrier replied to mechahamham's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I had only ever fought these guys with my lvl 50 Incarnate Brute. So as an experiment, I decided to try soloing them with my lvl 32 Martial Arts/Super Reflexes Scrapper (no temp powers, only common IOs except for a couple of procs in Health and Stamina, nothing but small Inspirations). I managed to fight 3 Crone Matriarchs and 1 Hollow Reaper before I got tired of door clicking (Got a boatload of costumes, though! Wish I could sell them...). On the Crone Matriarchs, I consistently could only get them down to about 1/2 health before I ran out of Insps and had to flee. I beat the Hollow Reaper, but just barely. We were both down to a sliver of health, I decided to take a chance, and was able to finish him. Are they too tough? I dunno, probably not. They seem to be about on par with some of the nastier EBs in the regular game. If I had done more prep (like loading up on large insps), I probably would've been fine.- 37 replies

This Was Your Life...? ID: 64453 Architect Entertainment has announced that you can now use their holograms to re-live the events of your own past! Take a whirlwind tour of your favorite hero's triumphs and tragedies! (But be advised, there may still be a few bugs in the system...) Length: Very Long Morality: Heroic Level Range: Starts out 1-10, then gradually ramps up to 40-54 for the final mission. Two missions contain Archvillains, but you get (optional) helpers. One mission is Defeat All, but it's a small-ish bank map. Kind of meta and a little bit goofy, but hopefully has some fun surprises along the way. Enjoy!

The PvP zones are also a convenient place to hunt for certain mobs if you're trying to get the defeat badges. I think Bloody Bay is the only place you can find Shivans just hangin' around in the open world, for instance.

Extra Rewards for Team/League Leads?
JKCarrier replied to Gravitus's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Amen. There is literally no incentive the devs could offer, short of maybe real-life cash, that would make me want to lead a team. And believe me, that's for the best. -
One is a symptom of the other. If they spread the spawn points out a bit, that would solve both the "long, empty stretches" issue and the "clumping at intersections" issue. Now, I have no idea how difficult this would be ("Standard Code Rant applies", as they used to say back on live). If it would be some huge undertaking, then no, probably not worth the devs' time. But if it's just a matter of going into some spreadsheet and moving some values around, then it'd be a nice little Quality of Life adjustment.

Admittedly, it's more of a minor annoyance than a major concern. Still, the difficulty settings ought to do what they say, no? If you want double-size spawns, you have that option, and more power to you. If not, the maps shouldn't take it upon themselves to double up the enemies for you. Otherwise, what's the point of having difficulty settings in the first place?
