  1. Ah. Thank you.
  2. You seem to be comparing a barebones SR build to an augmented non-SR build. If you're going to run a comparison with SR without the power pool add-ons or IO set bonuses, then you need to compare it against other armors without power pool add-ons or IO set bonuses. I'd imagine it would get pretty tough regardless of the armor set. Edit: And as an aside, if you can't convince the community, you may find it difficult to convince the devs. If your claim is as solid as you say and there is proof, can you provide it?
  3. Don't know what AMA is. Sorry. So I guess I'll just have to take your word for it. And while content may have been referenced and dropped, I would still prefer we maintain lore. Just like I said I would like to see it completed in my previous post, but made no other arguments about it. If the lore is to be abandoned though, I still see no reason why it could not be built up as a RWZ-style Neo-Shivan combat area. The Neo-Shivans are an interesting group. Especially with their conflict with the Shivans. Who I think actually work with the players to some extent in a mission/arc... it's the one with the giant Neo-Shivan that duplicates or something like that? It's been a while since I did that, so apologies if I am getting anything wrong here. The possibility of taking that mission and making it a zone sounds like fun to me. That is just me though. Other than what I have posted though? I don't care. I have my preferences, but that is all they are.
  4. Being required to leave the zone if there is an alternate zone of your current level that you can go to would not be terrible, no. If you are in one of those ranges where you only have access to 1 zone though? And you don't want to PvP? Now you're effectively being told not to play that character until the event is over. And sure, the PvE'er can try to get to the device and clear it out, but how likely is that when now other players are hunting the players in that zone? Especially if the location of the device is not known? (Edit: And reading the OP, destroying the device does not end the event. It simply awards a Super Pack. So even if the device were found and destroyed, the PvE zone would still be a PvP zone until the time was finished. And if it did end the event? I'd be willing to bet money PvP'ers would work to ensure no one touched the device until the timer was almost done.) Regardless, I think you would still see a portion of the player base leaving the game if PvP suddenly became possible in PvE zones. Even if it was announced it was going to happen. Especially if they log on into the event with no advance knowledge and find themselves defeated by another player. In a PvE zone. There is the understanding that if someone enters a PvP zone, whether they like it or not, they are in PvP. You really think that is going to translate well in a PvE zone?
  5. There were 10 incarnate slots planned. And though I'm not particularly attached to the Battalion bit, it has already been referenced in current content. So I would like to see it completed. If it is to be abandoned though? I still say build it up as a Neo-Shivan force combat area. Possibly a neutral zone where blue and red siders can fight the Neo-Shivans as per the RWZ. I hate to see established lore just thrown out. Edit: And since the 1st slot you can unlock is Alpha and the 10th is Omega, I really don't see the incarnate content as being expanded beyond that if the game had not been shut down.
  6. The destruction of Galaxy City was the scout wave from Battalion to the best of my knowledge. So unless the HC team isn't going to do the Battalion bit, I'd say leave Galaxy City alone until after Battalion has appeared and been defeated. Edit: Or build it up as a Battalion forces combat area after Battalion has had his bit started.
  7. According to the wiki, streak breaker affects both players and critters: https://archive.paragonwiki.com/wiki/Attack_Mechanics So not counting autohit attacks, each mob will be affected by streak breaker to hit the player per the formula/data on that page. Edit: I'm probably reading the page wrong, but it looks like if your defense is high enough, the mobs may not enjoy a streak breaker until 100 misses though. So if your SR defense is high enough that the enemy has a 20% chance to hit or less, it will not get a forced hit until it has missed 100 times. And that is calculated for each critter individually, not as a group. Again, that is only if I am reading it right.
  8. Well, there was a scene in a Marvel comic where (fake) Xavier was trying to psi-blast Gambit and commented that Gambit's mind was as elusive as his body. I think that was a Gambit trait though.
  9. I think (s)he is just talking about accessing the other portal in the same building. And yes, I agree. Being able to traverse a conjoining hallway between the two portal rooms would be very nice. Or just clicking the door and winding up in the other room.
  10. No. Since resist caps at 90%, then it would be considered a constant partial fail by this analogy. Which worsens as resist is debuffed unless your uncapped resist is high enough to ignore being debuffed.
  11. Aside from Omega Maneuver and the summons, the powers listed for Arachnos Soldiers and Arachnos Widows all seem to exist on the existing mobs in some form. Psychic Wail is the description for Static Overload on the Arachnos Heavy Blaster. Heavy Burst is used by the Wolf Spider Assaults. So on and so forth. Except, as stated, Omega and summons. So the PC versions are all types in a pick your adventure style set up for development.
  12. Horns. Goggles. Other odds-n-ends. Animal characters can be techies too. Or be horned. Or be.... *imagines a fedora'd feline detective and an eagle tinkerer wearing goggles*
  13. Is there any chance of getting dragon horns added as an option to the "dragon head" in character creation? Or at least getting access to the existing horn options, please? Edit: Well, beast heads. In this case, beast 6. Though other beast and animal heads would be nice too.
  14. And I guess I should have said I still prefer VEATs over HEATs instead of saying they work better. *shrug* I enjoy playing VEATs. I hate playing HEATs.
  15. Well, to be fair, as a VEAT you are bucking the system and defying Arachnos to find your own destiny as a self-made Destined One.
  16. That would be nice. Most of the 'with skin" options are just so boringly bland. And if the patterns were themselves locked, sorry, limiting customizations here for a reason, it could actually be implemented despite the way the color palette system works. (Then later, if the color system were overhauled and no longer had that limitation, the options could be customized for colors as well. Or if the textures/patterns had their own single color palette that was overlaid on the existing texture/pattern that forms the 'with skin' options. That would still allow for a 2-color pattern using the main texture's color as the primary color.) Not sure how feasible any of this is this though.
  17. Here's a random thought follow up to @battlewraith's idea. The competition could be held in that one zone. Trying to remember its name... Echo Plaza or something like that? That would give people a reason to find and check out the zone.
  18. Something that might help sell the idea? If it could be implemented, that is. Forced despawn. When you re-summon a defeated minion, the defeated minion immediately fades away.
  19. I think you responded to the wrong thread!😉 Was wondering if the GM would spawn a glowie that all participants would click to register into a list. Then the GM might spawn a localized pop-up with the populated names for non-competing players to choose someone, and the GM announces the lowest vote getter. All competitions have rules. I was asking what rules you were intending. Edit: Well, that and your proposal for how the tournament itself would work.
  20. How do you do an RP tournament? How would a moderator objectively judge such a thing?
  21. They still work better than HEATs in my opinion.
  22. Conversely, add a Rikti monkey option to the arena. All players involved are Rikti monkeys. Go nuts! 😁 Edit: Sorry. Bananas. Go bananas.
  23. Here is a counter-proposal loosely based on your idea: Create a new PvP-specific faction. Have them use PvP versions of the powers. Or don't, it doesn't really matter. It just would be nice for the mobs to play by the same rules. Have that faction spawn as part of a PvP zone event. The faction would spawn at a higher level than the zone itself. Like the Malta Hercules Titans do in Warburg. (They're +5 to the zone? Sounds like a good benchmark for the new faction.) The faction would roam (in a very limited fashion) like Arachnos and Longbow do in Siren's Call. Since they are hostile to everything, they attack players and mobs alike. Because they don't actually roam that far, they won't clear the map. They would be flagged for location like the hot spots and bounties in Siren's Call. Now for the kicker. If you defeat X number of this faction, you earn a Super Pack. Not more than once per event. They have set up a device, marked on the map or not, doesn't matter, as per your Nemesis part above. If the device is completed, which will happen at end of event timer unless destroyed, the device explodes as a Super Judgement power. Like Hamidon levels of damage and over a very large area. If the players do not destroy the device in time, they need to make sure they get out of its ridiculously large area of effect. If the players do destroy the device, they are rewarded with a Super Pack. This Super Pack does not count against the limit from defeating faction members. The event would be announced on all sides both as a warning it was going to happen and again when it actually starts. With a final notice when it ends. Destruction of the device does not end the event, so players that still need/want to hunt faction members can still earn their Super Pack. (Edit: Oh yeah, the new PvP faction would not be able to spawn outside of the designated event.) Edit again: While this event would not disable players' ability to attack other players', it is hoped that the incentives are sufficient to get players to cooperate to some extent to deal with the event. Duplicity on both sides is still expected. Especially if the player in question is not concerned with getting a Super Pack or already has the 2 available. Edit x3: May as well add a merit reward to the mix for successfully completing the event. Not to be awarded until after the event has timed out and not to be awarded if the device goes off. If you earned the merit award, you can leave the zone and still get the merits when the timer finishes.
  24. As far as I know, mobs are not affected by PvP. So mobs would not be subject to power changes. Just players.
  25. If your idea had been a way to convince RP'ers and general PvE'ers to go into a PvP zone, other than the incentives the Live devs put in that only badgers go for and only long enough to get, I would have been interested and possibly even inclined to agree. Instead your idea is to bring PvP into non-PvP zones. And the way to not be involved is to not be in the zone for 15-20 minutes. Even if the zone was the only one in the level range of the character the player is currently playing like Sharkhead if you're in the low 20s red side, Cap if you're in the upper teens red side, Brickstown if you're in the 30s blue side, etc. The player can log off and grab a different character for those 15-20 minutes? Then it becomes an issue of the player is not being allowed to play the character they want in the appropriate zone for the sake of PvP. Which again, is not in a PvP area. Making PvE zones suddenly PvP is not likely going to get more players back. It may even get current PvE'ers to stop playing. If you want to convince PvE'ers of any stripe to try PvP, you need a method other than effectively forcing it down their throats. Your intention does not seem to be to force PvP on others, however that is how it looks and feels. With the only options to avoid it being play a different character until event ends, leave game until event ends, or be lucky enough to be in a level range that has more than one zone available for playing in.
