Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.... Because the dev team is smaller, suggestions should not be subject to negative feedback or opinions?! How is that supposed to make the least bit of sense?! At least we have the game to play. And we have a dev team willing to read our suggestions and work on making the game better if they can. Since the suggestions we would like the devs to consider are posted in a forum, they are open to discussion. This enables the community to try and refine and improve possibilities. People are going to disagree on pretty much every suggestion. That is part of the feedback process. Sometimes it leads to a suggestion getting better and becoming more refined. More often it serves as a sounding board to highlight faults in ideas. That does not make negative feedback bad. And by the way? The devs that read our suggestions can agree or disagree with the suggestion as well. So there is still a good chance of negative feedback, this time from the devs in the form of lack of implementation. Edit: And before you say I am taking your post out of context, you quoted @arcane's post saying "People are allowed and even encouraged (“feedback”) to disagree with suggestions. If you’re one of those anti-disagreement types, expect lots of disappointment from life. Constant affirmation isn’t a thing in the real world." as part of your post I am quoting. So that is the only way I can read your post.

"Hello, I'd like to make a suggestion." "I don't think that is a good suggestion." "I like the suggestion, think it is a benefit, and needs to be implemented anyway." "I still disagree, here are my reasons for it, and would rather it was not." "You're bullying me." "No, I'm just disagreeing with you." And round and round we go.

The problem with reducing Spring Attack's tier and requirements is that it is treated as the tier 9 attacks of the same style. An alternate version that does not include an attack that only sends the character to the selected target a la Combat Teleport is feasible. It would just need to be created. Or a non-teleport animation for Combat Teleport that was a dash or a jump could work too.
-
The opposition is strictly in regards to mutating Confront and AS into something else. When you made the comment you just wanted more gap closers that were not teleport, there were other posters that agreed with you. Finish the origin pool sets and have gap closers in them was one such comment. Making new pool sets that have a different type of gap closer was another. I can't speak for anything else.
-
@ZeeHero, do you just bother to read the responses that let you keep going? It has already been said that the addition of more pool power sets that include more gap closers is fine. Your complaint has been noted and actually supported. The part not accepted by the bulk of the posters in this thread is mutating Confront, which is used by multiple players in this thread as it currently works, into something that does not provide the core function of Confront. Summary: Your request for more gap closers is fine with everyone. (Edit: Just not turning Confront or AS into one.)

The kama was not thrown in a kusarigama. It was typically held in hand and used to finish off the target you caught with the attached chain. That said, this is a video game and I have no clue how it would be implemented. So if the devs decide to give us kusarigama? That would be welcome.
-
Yeah, adding in a kusarigama would be great, but it would run up against the same problems as whip. There is a reason why the promised whip set morphed into the demon summoning set and the whip is a projectile firing weapon.

@Glacier Peak was likely referring to my follow up comment for buff pets to be able to zone too. On the characters that have the buff pets, I use them as vanity pets. Extra props for my characters' appearance. And after a zone change or two, I just stop summoning them. Like with the vanity pet.

Having a gap closer, you target a mob and use the now taunting combat teleport, will not give you any travel benefits. It will send you to the target. So, yes, I ignored it as being a contrived defense. Edit: It is an attack set power. Using Confront as the basis. That is a ST mob ability. Not like Shield Charge, Savage Leap, or the other 2 that are AoE attacks you target a location with. Edit again: As a reminder, in your post, you were the one that said you wanted a power pool slot freed up.

Showing the context of a thread does not make a person a liar. Forum posts are not thoughts in a void. If you do not want your defense to be associated with the OP, then you need to say as much. Else there is no reason for anyone to think your commentary is not to support the OP you are being read as defending. As far as the original post you say I am ignoring? That is the basis of the perception you want Confront turned into Combat Teleport so you and the OP can keep access to the Fab 4 power pools. Your words. Want to try again?

I only flagged 1 power as passive. I declined to flag the rest as toggle or click so those with a better understanding can flesh it out if they want.
-
Maybe something like: Tier 1: <name?>: Slows close in attacks, provides some damage resistance. (Resist smash/lethal damage. Some melee defense.) Tier 2: <name?>: Passive slow aura. (Passive resist damage, resist slow effects.) Tier 3: <name?>: Ages incoming projectiles to past their dissolution. (Resist fire, cold, energy, negative energy. Some ranged defense.) Tier 4: <name?>: Reverts physical form to prior state, undoing some harm. (Self heal.) Edit: Tier 5: <name?>: Armor status protection ability. Tier 6: <name?>: Slows all attacks. (Resist damage <not sure what types>, some AoE defense.) Tier 7: <name?>: Expanded slow aura. (Slows all enemies within set radius of character.) Tier 8: <name?>: Briefly accelerates time for the character. (Gain some very short duration boost. Maybe the character gains +?% recharge, regen, and recovery boost?) Tier 9: <name?>: Temporal regression restores character to life after defeat. (Self-rez.) I don't know if that is anything like you were imagining, but how is that? And everyone else? I know this post is nothing like I've asked others to provide, but I really can't come up with anything right now. Sorry. Edit again: The tier 8 would be a time expansion version of the author's time stop attack ability. The tier 9 could be a nuke attack instead of a self-rez with a really long recharge to mimic stopping time and attacking frantically before restoring temporal flow.

You don't need to be an expert. Just throw out some themes/ideas you think would be interesting. Letting everyone know in advance you're just spitballing ideas helps. You giving your impression helps open and guide the discussion though. So just throw out a list of 9 concepts you think would be interesting. Take the 5 already provided as a base. For instance, on another thread, someone mentioned a time armor mechanic. It would reduce the damage by slowing the impact or aging projectiles into uselessness. So what themes are most interesting to you on this?
-
Yes please. And the buff pets too.
-
Sure. Sounds good. Do you have ideas on how to populate the set? Preferences for way to go with it?
-
Ancillary Power Pool. The epic power pools.
-
Yeah. There's this. The OP is about folding an existing pool power into an existing AT primary power so that the pool power can be accessed without taking the pool and enabling the OP to keep the Fab 4 pool sets. Your entire argument from the beginning has been supporting that position. If you do not support that position and instead hold the position that Confront needs to be improved, then we can all throw ideas at improving Confront. No one responding negatively to this thread is against improving Confront. If Confront is turned into a gap closer, as you have supported in this thread, that is not an improvement except in the eyes of some players. It is a massive downgrade in the eyes of others. You want to improve Confront? Let's talk ways to improve it. This thread and your own posts do not attempt to improve Confront. And even if Confront as a gap closer retains a taunt component? It is still not Confront. It is a taunting combat teleport. Confront is used to pull enemies to the character by the players that have the power and are arguing against this thread. I even gave an opinion on how Confront could be improved. So have multiple other individuals. In this thread. And yet you seemingly have nothing to say to those comments and you keep entrenching yourself to defend this thread. So of course you are going to be held to be in support of turning Confront into Combat Teleport.

Oooh! Water Armor?! You mean something like Noelle from Black Clover?! Fricking AWESOME!!! Yes please! I want my water plate mail please!
-
That could be fun to watch. Maybe double the animation speed since the throw would be part of the move rather than needing to pull a trigger and have it repeat the animation once?
-
If you just want Confront to be more interesting, then how is this: add a move speed buff to the target of Confront that lasts 2 seconds and give the target the ability to ignore other mobs to close with the scrapper for that duration. Maybe even give the target a damage buff with a to hit debuff to reflect the target's anger at the scrapper. The damage buff and tohit debuff can last for the entire duration of Confront.

And from April 28 to May 4, I did stay out of the thread. If my giving my opinion is me holding court over the suggestions thread, then I'm curious as to how you view anyone else. Scratch that, it doesn't matter. You keep arguing for things to change. And things will change. And the devs will always try to make things better. Your request for change however, steps on the people playing the game using powers you think are useless. Powers get nerfed and buffed routinely. They do not get overhauled into something that does not resemble their prior application. Not after launch at least. That is a problem of games like CO. They are always changing how their powers work. That requires the player to completely re-visit how their characters are built. Which is what you are asking for. (Edit: And is one of many reasons I stopped playing that game.) This thread does that as well. The game already gives the ability to do what this thread requests. Changing the game to do something it already does makes no sense. Especially when the sole purpose of the change is so the OP can keep using the Fab 4 pool sets and not have to decide how to incorporate a function he wants without giving up something else he wants. Edit again: Do you have anything to say about Provoke not being a suitable substitute or replacement for Confront?
