Here's something no one has mentioned. If they are a newbie, and sometimes even if not, are they keeping an eye on the chat window for instructions at all? Do they even have the chat window open? My mate has been playing since live, like me, but she solos most of the time and more than half the time her chat window isn't even on the screen. I'm lucky I'm usually in the same room with her when we do team together. She's not a newb, she's not stupid, she means no harm, but yeah, she never developed the habit of watching chat when teaming. I am anal about it, and even I have missed instructions or accidentally gone against them, but yeah. If it matters, maybe do a quick roll call before entering the mission and have everyone respond?

For me it's books, fiction specifically. I start reading and I seriously can't put something down (if it's good), to sleep, work, etc. Eventually I went to work at a neighborhood library branch - great for getting the books I wanted to read without having to pay for them, terrible for being distracted so much of the time it was stupid. So I stopped reading books. I know. But I had to. Now I read on the internet, fanfiction sometimes, and I have to be careful there too. I stay up reading half or more of the night when I have work the next day. I work at home on my computer and while I am conscientious , I have to be careful not to read or I'm gone. It's addictive behavior, I recognize it, I know, for me, where it comes from so I have to take it seriously. CoH does not affect me *quite* the same way, I can stop when I get tired, I can take breaks for days, if I'm busy with important RL stuff, longer. But when they closed Live, I was depressed for years not to have my vacation location available, and believing it was gone forever. Having it back just relaxes me as a fact of it's existence. So no, we don't all have to leave this too-good game, but each to his own necessity.

Car Wash, real name Carter Washington, surfer dude who works part time at Mr Bubbles Car Wash, another victim of a mysterious explosion when some shady type drove his limo through the Mr Bubbles while Carter was working.

Souper Salads, Water Blast Corruptor - she's a working girl, survived an explosion of some known tech when a Crey scientist spilled soup on a device he really wasn't supposed to have taken to lunch with him, on her shift. Her blasts are red (tomato) and her secondary is Nature - the salads.

Great suggestion! 😉 Sadly we are not that far from a time when any implication of homosexuality was intended to be a nasty slur. Some folks still react that way.

Now I am goin to be actively looking for a chance to use pocket battleship to refer to a cute young gay or bi man. I write fanfic.

in my head it harkens back to the actual pop group name you were riffing off of so yeah, ballet in a certain environment might be more brutal than dancelike. ^^

Apologies in advance if this suggestion seems irrelevant but I run the game with one earbud in. It gives me glowies and enough sound to make me feel comfortably *in world* but also lets me have a ear free to hear the phone or the door or whatever (food timer etc.). It also reduces the effect of annoying sounds quite a bit.

I use this on all my mele alts: /bind ` "target_enemy_near$$follow" You can change the key you bind to, I use the accent because it's beside 1 and nothing else uses it by default. Hope thi sshelps!

I did several on live quite innocently, until I was clued in that it was verboten, though I don't think any were exact clones some were darn close. One of the first was an exact copy, visual and name but not powers since this character's powers could not be created in this game. Yomiko Readman - The Paper, from Read or Die Never generic'd, I suspect the likelihood of anyone recognizing her was vanshing small, too obscure. She was renamed and remade as an elec/elec blaster without her signature outfit.

I don't see a problem, either way...
