In the early days of Homecoming before it was even called that, I was bouncing around excited about more than one server (once there was more than one). I liked all the names and didn't have any associations with any other them. On live I had crafted a Yeti character rather carefully and I still had my costume files from lives (yes I saved them), so when I saw one of the servers was named Indomitable, I jumped on to make the Indomitable Snowman! Did make him, but didn't like the first set of powers I picked, so I deleted him and immediately made him over and... couldn't get the name. Either someone else happened to make a character during the 30 seconds or less after I deleted, or... I dunno. I had to make the name without the space. I would make my Indomitable Snowman. 🙂 Other than that, I've never had a name conflict. I don't think there are any other Trixibelle's on servers other than Everlasting, though I haven't looked, or tried to block it out. Not sure that would qualify as a dream name though.

General question I've wondered, apologies if it's a dumb (or ignorant) one - how do you know what the seeded prices for salvage are?

I solo a lot and pets can be helpful. On live I usually started trying to get shivans as early as possible for my melee toons who needed help with av fights. I have one plant dom and I love my Flytrap. She's loyal and pretty. Her name is Venus. I loved it when I figured out you could rename pets. 🙂 My first and ever incarnate chose Rularuu for Lore because giant chomping eyeball. Period. His name is Ivan. Never looking back. 😄 MMs - I thought I would love Beast Mastery but it turns out I hate when my wolves and lionesses get killed! Or even hurt! And I'm not the only one, since I learned there's a mod to silence wolves whimpering.... On the other hand I didn't expect to like Necro but I rolled one up for a Halloween themed toon and I love her! Turns out I don't care if her zombies die... they're dead already! Ha ha ha! Also Necro MM plus Sorcery equals flaming zombies and using flaming zombies to kill "evil" zombies (Vaz,Banished) is so much fun. Have avoided Demons, other people's are too noisy, having them would drive me crazy. No shade to those who love them! I tend to have a lot of melee toons and it's definitely a shift in playstyle, more thought and planning to incorporate pet use or switch to an MM, not always up for it. But when I'm in the mood, it's going to be concept that wins over logic for me.

Super low level redside, both Kalinda and Matthew Burke have snakes which is easily magic adjacent. Blueside Matthew Habashy send you against Hellions which are definitely trafficking in magical artifacts. Missed any of these, you can do them in flashback.

I'm happy with the event going live, I don't need an announcement or even a badge, however I'm mildly saddened that they didn't turn on what was a Homecoming exclusive as far as I know: my Gravity Controller's Propel doesn't throw presents as has happened in previous years. That was the awesomest. I miss knocking foes down with big shiny wrapped gift boxes. Take that, naughty foes! My Yuletime toon Missus Claus has a sad.

From a roleplaying immersion perspective, I personally would never put a long skirt on a martial arts using character. Hence my reference to player personal responsibility. Simply put, if it looks bad and makes no sense, don't use it. Why restrict say, an electric blaster from wearing a skirt? I realize I'm tilting at windmills. Back under my rock.

I definitely need to go and check out the inevitable disappointment and anger about sloppy costume pieces being added. I assume it exceeds my disappointment and sadness at not being able to use my long Talons skirt. Will check it out. I myself would have nothing but praise for someone who certainly appears to be producing quality work as far as I can tell, but who would also be willing to let players take responsibility for their choices in the costume creator.

Actually that is not exactly what was said, it was closer to the dev not liking the clipping and not wanting to "put their name on that". I think about it every time I fly on certain characters and watch buttcapes merrily clipping like mad. If we can endure clipping buttcapes, I seriously hope the dev in charge of costumes will reconsider her stance on my long Talons skirt.

How would you use the demorecord to reset a corrupt base file?

I have several, first that leaps to mind for seasonal reasons is Missus Claus. Her bio: "Goodness gracious, now don't cause any trouble, young people! Be nice, not naughty, so my hubby won't have to leave you a stocking full of coal this year! And please don't give me any aggravation, either. Just because I'm a housewife doesn't mean my work isn't meaningful, or important! So settle down and play nice or I'll have to get my rolling pin...." She was specifically created a couple of years ago when I discovered that the HC folks had made it so during the Winter Event, all gravity controllers threw presents instead of the usual stuff. 🙂 Her secondary is Time.

Moi auci. I plan to celebrate my BD and get on line to play, rejoicing that in the super hero/villain/whatever world, death is rarely permanent. Even whole worlds can come back.

But then I wouldn't have been able to name my personal supergroup The Everlasting Gobstoppers... (yes I really did that) 🙂
