I did this recently, failed the first time, completed it on the retry. Like almost everyone in this thread I thought that if I cleared all the spawned mobs in the zone that would do it. The first time, I tried to kill whatever group was heading for the gate, and then run around and kill as many stationary mobs as I could find and on my way back to the gate to try and catch the next group, I was pretty sure I saw mobs spawning, a short distance (just out of sight around some trees) from the gate. The second time I did the mission, I managed to get a mission complete, fulfilled the mission requirements, but instead of immediately leaving, I was curious. I went running around what I expected to be, at that point, an empty zone. It wasn't. There were quite a few mobs scattered around the zone. From this I conclude the mobs do spawn and at some point, you've outlasted them.

My two would be Yep. Nope. Alternative two Nope. Random Emoji 👻

I'm still not getting any clue as to how that is breaking the game for you. You don't think it's a good idea, don't use it. Since it is beyond unlikely that you and I will ever team together or otherwise encounter each other, and since I in no way find the game to be broken by this, we can agree to disagree forever. I officially agree to that. Making broad absolute statements where opinion is given as fact are game-breaking for life in general IMHO.

9001% nope. Full disclosure - I read threads like this but the whole discussion is hundreds of floors over my head. I'm what I guess you could call a casual, but hopelessly devoted player since Issue 3 or so on live. When CoX was shut down, I lost something I never ceased to mourn for, and having it back has improved my mental and emotional well-being by volumes. I love creating characters, mostly heroes, but I do have villains and did do Praetorians when they first appeared, because they were there. I love having super powers, or skills, or whatever the character's theme might be and saving random citizens (blueside)/smacking random annoyances (redside), running missions, mostly solo but with the occasional PUG. I have 1 50/Incarnate and too many alts. I do not have the head for/concentration or inclination for analyzing my game play on the level folks in this discussion do. I read the threads to perhaps pick up what crumbs my brain can absorb and have thereby improved what I can do solo (and my sporadic team participation) from it. But I am shaking my head almost sadly at how definitively some folks state what options currently available should be "destroyed" for everyone. I don't understand how something like emailing inspirations, or according to some, inspirations period, can be game-breaking. How is my use of anything the game offers breaking someone else's game??? I don't get it.

I never complained. If people who read the forums are 10% and it's not unanimous even on the forums, then less than 10% were complaining? The people who were complaining did get what they wanted, but everyone else got it too.... I have 1 incarnate, and when I want to feel really super, I play her. I like feeling really super sometimes! When I don't want to be so uber, I play other characters who are at lower levels. I like getting badges but since I solo 97% of the time, I know I won't ever get some badges. I'm philosophical about that but I see no reason to cheer when things are pushed further out of reach. I don't complain either. It be's that way, sometimes.

Your character concept sounds fun and perfect for this game. 🙂 You already have the right powerset for solo or teaming - you want to have fun and you want to be useful when you are teaming - you will be! You also have access to Pool Powers to supplement your build, and they are accessible earlier than they were on live, plus there are some new ones. See you out there!

I feel you, Lamb Chop, same birth date, if a few years before you joined us here in what we laughingly call "IRL". 😉 The closing of CoH on 11/30 left a bitter taste on my BD for every year since until Homecoming appeared. Now I can relax. Funny how having your psychological "home" ripped away can insert even more tension into and already challenging world. Happy birthday to you! And me! Long skirts. Here's my hopeful suggestion for porting an NPC (Talons) skirt that worked for me when I was costume hacking in Paragon Chat:

First the feedback - I love all the costume pieces that have been added and unlocked from npc costumes and elsewhere, since HC has been up and running. Awesome stuff. Now suggestion: at this time of year almost more than any other, I yearn desperately for long skirts. On Paragon Chat we were able to play around with using some of the npc parts with db editing, and though I never did a lot with that, I was able to find and use the long skirt I'd always wanted. In the db, it was geom "V_Hips_Talons.GEO/GEO_Hips_Ragged_Talons" tex1"!Skirt_V_Talons_02" tex2 "!Skirt_V_Talons_02_Mask" And it was the essential piece for this costume (you'll recognize the other parts, standard ones) (attached). The tex2 Mask creates the ragged edge and I used it with and without, so both version would be awesome. Clipping is minimal, and certainly nothing worse that sometimes occurs with existing costume parts now. Please oh please consider adding this piece the next time you are adding new npc costume bits. Thanks for considering. 🙂

All of you guys who are getting regular or frequent purple drops? Thank me now, you're getting some of mine? In my whole time on live and since HC opened up I have gotten 1 purple drop. To be fair I have only ever had one 50/incarnate, on both. But she gets diddly. 🙂

The rocket board is totally the bomb, however it detoggles everything, it would be the bomb and a half if that weren't the case. 😉
