  1. Hello everyone - The Spring Fling event is now live! Special missions are available from Ganymede, Scratch, DJ Zero, Jessica Megan Duncan and Arbiter Hawk in Pocket D Special Valentines tip missions will drop from any non-Incarnate enemies above level 20 Chilly and Dram are open for business in Pocket D In total: 7 badges and 7 temporary powers are up for grabs! Paragon Wiki has a comprehensive breakdown of what's on offer. The event will last until the end of February - which is 29 days long this year, woohoo!
  2. Just merged this. Please stick to just one post in the relevant shard forum only. Thanks!
  3. There's not been any intentional change to DFB, however... This is certainly possible as the patch touched every single power in the game. If someone puts up a bug report thread we'll look into it at some point
  4. There probably is. It's on a to-do list somewhere but not a massive priority at the moment. The above is good for now!

    Fix Burn !

This is a bug. It's fixed on the beta server 🙂
  6. @Abraxus There you go! Includes a bonus pro-top about email notifications...
  7. When do donations open? The last Saturday of each month at around 13:00 Eastern (click to view in your timezone), but sometimes it'll open a little later. How can I be notified that donations are open? Generally post in the following locations when donations open: The Finances & Donations forum In-game via an admin announcement The official City of Heroes: Homecoming Discord Can I sign up to be notified via email? Yes, however there's no guarantee that the email will reach you before the donation round closes. To sign up for email notifications, simply click 'Follow' at the top of the Finances & Donations forum: How can I donate? We currently only accept donations via PayPal. Sorry. What do I get if I donate? Donations are purely voluntary and will not result in any benefits or rewards. Anything else? You need to be logged in to the forum in order to donate, and you will not be able to donate any money after we've reached the goal for that month - generally this means each donation window only stays open for a couple of hours at most. I missed the donation round! Is there any other way I can contribute? Yes, you can. Check out this thread for other ways you can support Homecoming.
  8. I've come to realise this isn't really apparent to our newer players - I've been meaning to do a short sticky in this board explaining how and when donations happen, but it's not really been a priority given how quickly each donation round fills.
  9. He moved on sadly! Hopefully he'll be back at some point in the future 🙂
  10. Recruiting, inducting and training people is another one of those things that takes time 🙂 We also want to clear up as much technical debt (the recent powers updates and the upcoming retirement of safe mode) as we can before that happens, otherwise a good chunk of that training could go to waste. And the talks of course do have an impact, it's much more preferable to us that we are able to be more open and transparent when recruitment does finally begin. I am planning to post up a "What you can do to help" thing soon-ish, as the original development recruitment threads were put together in a rush many, many months ago.
  11. I think there's two different threads of thought here. One is us posting what we're doing, and the other is the why. What are we working on? This has been covered somewhat extensively already in the thread, and while I agree with the general sentiment, I think there will be some room for flexibility in the future. As you're all aware the focus of our (currently) very small team is quite split right now between our goal of becoming legitimate, back-end work (being able to retire safe mode), and actual development. When the first two are dealt with everything will become a little more streamlined. We aren't being secretive just for the sake of it right now, it's simply because our attention is so split that we don't want to get anyone's hopes up about exciting stuff and then us have to shelve it for six months. Just look at the Tanker patch and how (understandably) restless the community was over that. Now imagine that if there were some new powersets, features or story arcs stuck in limbo! Wouldn't be pretty. I believe that with some careful management and engagement from the community it is possible to improve this without some of the risks mentioned above, but we're not quite in the position do so at the moment. There is cool stuff on the horizon - just be patient! Why do we make the decisions we make? This one isn't as simple. I'm going to quote something from the other thread and post the answer here as it's more relevant. You simply aren't going to be able to get this - because you're right, quality is an opinion. Game development is highly opinionated. Any worthwhile creative endeavour is. We've stated our guiding principles as best we can, and if we tried posting anything more concrete at the moment it probably wouldn't be entirely honest. Remember this isn't a commercial operation, so we have no reason to sugarcoat or spin anything (which is what you're used to experiencing from almost every other development team, regardless of their intentions). We're just going to stick with the truth as we see it - if we aren't sure about something, we aren't going to pretend that we are. If we (for the moment, anyway) only have loose guiding principles, then that's what we're going to tell you. If something changes, we'll say so. And in the interest of honesty - the discussion in the other thread was somewhat off-putting. Having to re-state the same answer three times because it seemingly wasn't the desired answer doesn't encourage us to spend time engaging. But we still do, because we love the game and the community as much as you do. Please just keep the above in mind when reading something you may not want to hear 🙂
  12. I'm really not sure how I can be any clearer on this specific topic. I've given exact examples of why certain pieces will not be added. @DR_Mechano just proved my point: Many of the NPC parts are a mess. As for the ones that aren't - I refer you to my earlier post 🙂
  13. The weekend is when we actually have time to do this 😉 Just bringing it in line, not specifically targeted at Battle Axe.
  14. Generally, yes, this is exactly what we need 🙂 However, this patch was a significantly more far-reaching than the norm - the underlying technical refinements involved touched every single power in the game. Honestly I'm quite pleased with how few problems there were once it finally reached live. That's what 5~ months of testing gets us though! Internally we've collectively breathed a huge sigh of relief that we're finally over this hurdle. Just one more big bump to get over (Safe Mode) before we can start working on some more exciting stuff!
  15. That wasn't actually @csr, I think he may be intercepting some comments intended for someone else. Either way, it's getting a tad too heated so please try to remain civil!
  16. @Miss Jersey @Kartanian Please submit a support ticket if you need more mission slots 🙂 Regarding the OP: As @The Philotic Knight pointed out, this has fallen by the wayside as we work on... other things. It will still be primarily on Discord as that's where all staff co-ordination happens. We'll either update this post or start a new one in this section when something is happening again.
  17. It was addressed, but as you pointed out, this is a matter of opinion and we obviously do not agree 🙂 As with everything we do (both from a development and operations standpoint), we strive to maintain - or beat - the level of quality and professionalism from the retail version of the game game wherever possible.
  18. This gets asked a lot, and there's a lot of considerations when it comes to adding things to the editor, but most importantly of all: Does adding it meet the quality bar, and can it be added without compromising another part of the game? Many NPC pieces are simply not built to be used in the normal editor. They are frequently anchored to the wrong location (eg: a back piece in the belt slot) on the body or the actual mesh doesn't line up with the standard character model, and often do not recolour properly (if at all). On top of that, there are many pieces that are tied to signature NPCs (eg: Neuron's arms, or Manticore's hat... thing) which will not be added to the editor for that reason. There certainly are some pieces that don't break these rules and some have actually been added already - but the vast majority simply aren't up to scratch with a ton of work being put in to updating them. With that being said, there are definitely more pieces that tick the necessary boxes and we would like to look at enabling more of them in the future - but we actually want to put the time into doing it right instead of just mass-enabling stuff and hoping for the best, and as you can imagine we've got a lot on our plate right now so there's no ETA on when this may happen. Lied is a strong word, and I don't think it's a fair characterisation. Someone on reddit figured out a proof-of-concept of how it could work, but there's a huge amount of work between that and something that's production ready for a server that actually has a large amount of players on it. Not saying it won't happen, just that it's nowhere near as simple as hacking it in and making it just about work in a local dev environment - and again, there's a lot on our plate and we have to prioritise.
  19. This has been resolved internally - fix will be in the next patch 🙂
  20. I'm struggling to replicate this. Standing in RWZ with a Rad/Fire using Burn on some 53/54 Rikti. No taunt auras on. Nothing scatters. Could you provide some more details on the exact circumstances you're experiencing this in? Same with this. LR has a 0.64 mag KB on it, so even level enemies and above will only ever be KU'd, not KB'd. Not able to replicate what you're describing - as above, can you provide more details?
  21. Locking this to keep the discussion focused in the live release patch notes thread 🙂
  22. Just added this to the OP as it was omitted from the original patch notes:
  23. It’s primarily because the Tanker changes are coming alongside some behind-the-scenes technical changes. That’s what’s actually been holding the patch back for the last few months.
