  1. @Nemuthanks man, lots of great stuff to consider in your version. i'll take some time to digest it. question: saw you were forced to eliminate Hasten ... looks like that has pretty significant impact on the recharge time of certain powers like Geyser (went from 30 secs to 45+ secs) and to a lesser extent Whirlpool and Water Burst. woudl it be worth fitting it back in (have to eliminate Fly pool and stay on the ground with CJ, Hasten, Superspeed)? what's your take on incarnate powers? Musculate for +dmg and Clarion for mezz protect? Seems like Agility would help solve the no-hasten approach but leaves mezz vulnerable.
  2. key for savage is to put FF +recharge procs in Call Hawk and Savage Leap (at least) ... my build above has some slotting suggestions. Once you reach soft-cap to S/L you'll be a lot sturdier, as it generally lets you run in and hold everything (or disorient) under permadom. the confuse is also great for soloing, even before permadom as you can pretty easily double stack it (at least you can on dark, i assume mind's single-target confuse works the same). the utility of Sleet in the PPP for teams later is not to be underestimated.

  4. Thanks, that's solid feedback and much appreciated. I was going to try Hover blasting and avoiding melee attacks on this build, to the extent possible. So there's some orientation difference there, which is fine. But your build has some good tips. I might swap out Ragnarok for an Artillery set in Geyser so I can pull some +ranged slots from something else. I'll also probably move around proc'd strangler. Need to do some theory crafting. Here's an alternative iteration. I am just kissing soft-cap ranged at 44.99% (if I +5 some of the Def IOs, vs. 44.78% if I Catalyst the LotG sets) but I was able to slot a FF recharge proce into Water Burst. Not sure if Tactics was needed but threw it in. Kept Spore Cloud at high levels for AVs / hard targets, figure every bit helps and they'll be enough +end/recovery buffs on teams to help - it was only 1 slot and seemed like something worth keeping in the kit if ever needed. I could go higher on ranged def If I go back to 6-slotting Artillery in Water Burst, not sure if a little buffer on ranged def is worth it. I guess the question is whether the 6-slot Numina in Wild Fortress is worth it for the extra absorb vs. 6-slotting with Preemptive Op for +end? Numina's seems to give >100% absorb which seemed useful. Given this is supposed to be a ranged build (where possible) I kept the focus on ranged def with a resistance buffer for E/N and S/L via slotted Tough and Charged Armor, vs going for the S/L def orientation that could be done with Scorp Shield. What are thoughts on Incarnate powers? Go Musc for the 45% damage increase? And Clarion 120sec mezz protect I assume? Others?   6. Thanks folks, I will take a look. Everyone kept singing the praises of Spore Cloud, but I take your point. Will see what I can come up with. Fair point on the proc-bomb idea vs. other aoes in the arsenal.
  7. I posted a dark/dark build yesterday, it may give you ideas. The AOE hold gets a lot of mileage out of just 4-slot Basilisk's Gaze, including helping your recharge for permadom. If I were goint to skip anything, I'd skip one of the pets, maybe the Beast. Keep the Haunts for hard targests like AVs. I must say, if you plan to team at all, the epic with Sleet (and Ice Storm, Ice Armor, Hoarfrost) is really the best for helping others. From what I recall Sould Drain is on a very long timer, and honestly if you're teaming you won't get as much benefit from it given the other buffs the team will have. If it's just concept driven, sure go for it. I have a Dark/Savage build I posted with a 50+ version and an exemplar, leveling version. That can give you some tips as well. My 50+ version is petless, while the exemp version has both.
  8. Thanks for the tips. How is Vines with procs as a proc-nuke? Better to just slot out strangler and use it Single-Target more often? I wish I could figure out how to move slots around and keep the >45% ranged def to proc out Water Jet ...
  9. i agree with savage/shield ... savage on its own has Feral Charge and Rending, both up fast, and you can add the PPP AOE (Mu for example) ... imagine shield charge on top of that.

  12. Thanks for the feedback. I have a 50 dark/savage dom (build below) that I've enjoyed. I don't have any slow resist on him and I don't recall losing permadom, but it's a good tip and definitely will pull a slot out of Gloom (thanks!) and put a winter's cold slow resist into super speed. The dark/savage has HoD slotted basically the same way (but with 1 more dmg proc from Armageddon, which is used in ED in this build) and it seems to hit stuff OK -- it's key to locking down spawns under permadom and doing damage, I love it. What's the math on accuracy? Figured I had enough with the Kismet +To Hit and Tactics. My savage dom has melee attacks, which is why this time I was going for all ranged. It's also why I proc-slotted Dark Grasp for damage to use in a ranged chain. Not sure how DG is with procs -- maybe it recharges too fast for them to fire regularly. I saw it on a Dark controller build. Figure it would be FS, jump in for HoD and ED, jump back out and start pew-pewing from Range with a sleet on top. My dark/savage has ice storm 5-slotted with Ragnarok, and while it seems OK to throw on top of sleet, the damage seems anemic over time. HoD makes me a spawn-lockdown master *and* does damage. My dark/savage is petless at 50, so this time I wanted to try to take both pets and especially see if Haunt could bring damage to harder targets like AVs on TFs. I wanted to double proc Haunt but couldn't find the slots. I'm running under 45% because I figured I hit most spawns with FS before jumping in, or I'd use a small purple, or be on a team with def buffs. Also I think If I build up to the top Barrier that lasts 120 secs it gives about an additional 5% def that should soft-cap me?
  13. Hi Folks -- synthesized some water/plant builds here and came up with the following. Soft-capped to Ranged and almost E/N, hover-blaster style. I assume you have to go Clarion for the mezz protect (I don't think there's an perm-mezz protect blaster power in other sets?). I tried to slot out Vines for proc damage but could only go with 4 instead of 5 damage procs as I needed the 2-slot Basilisk for ranged def. Any know if Vines is worth it as a proc damage power? If not, I could probably move slots around a bit and take another 1-slot power. Appreciate the feedback! Been trying to see if I could make a Dark/Dark build that got reasonable soft-caps while maintaining an all-ranged attack chain, with the PBAOE exceptions of using Heart of Darkness as a proc nuke and Engulfing Shadows as well. Kept the pets thought maybe they're not needed post 50. Got S/L and Ranged defs to ~41% but can't seem to softcap without having to use more complete IO sets that ruin my proc-slotting. Cribbed together ideas from a number of dark dom / dark troller threads, lots of credits to others. Anyone got ideas on how to make this better? Maybe the answer isn't to push for the 40%+ S/L/Ranged but to let it fall into the 30s (%) and reslot for more damage? I wanted to give up Sleet but it's just too good on end-game TFs.   16. FWIW I spent a lot of money doing an exemplared-down 2nd build, trying to build for permadom at lower levels and powers better suited to TFs etc. when exemping. I used catalysts on most of the sets so theoretically their benefit stays at lower levels (it only goes down to the level you took the power at, right?). Anyway, I ran Manticore last night and was able to get Permadom at 35. On Posi TFs, I could get dom to fire 2 times sequentially but couldn't stay perma. Added the pets back for more punch at lower levels and for set bonuses. Seems to be working out OK. Hat tip to Oedipus Tex for the idea. (Everything above level 38 is empty because at 38+ I'm going back to the main build above, not this exemp build).   17. Savage is insanely addicting due to Feral Charge. The mechanic is kind of cool too -- a 5-stack Rending Flurry is like a PBAOE bomb.
  18. Dug up some old builds posted on the forum here and made some tweaks. Anyone have feeback in general? Also looking for guidance on whether it's worth putting the 6th slot in Arcane Bolt as Force Feeback +Rchrg assuming it wilil be spammed. Perhaps the recharge time is too low and the proc won't trigger much? Appears to be soft-capped def to S/L as well as F/C (basically) before any external buffs, with reasonable 38% S/L resistance (and scaling resistance proc). HP appears capped with Earth's Embrace, which (a) appears to be perma and (b) gives ~28% toxic resist as well. Figure this provides better safety margin and gives enough Single Target (esp Seismic Smash and Arcane Bolt) to take down bosses, minions should melt from the other stuff, and on-demand mez protect from Rune of Protection.   21. What are the benefits of Elec / Kin vs. Fire/Kin? I thought the Gremlins were supposed to be the worst pets. Do the other Elec powers make up for it?

FYI this build is a blast to play at 50 on speed radio missions, TFs, BAFs, ITFs, etc. So addicting to keep Feral Charging stuff, AS, and then fire off a 5-stack Flurry for whatever's still standing. It exemps down pretty well even unajusted, though I'll probably need to make a 2nd build for <35 exemping for lower level TFs. Anyway, really enjoying it. I read somewhere that Inv scrappers can somehow slot Gaussian Build-up into the defense shield (Invincibility?) that scales with mobs around you, and have it fire based on number of mobs? I assume this doesn't work on stalkers due to how the power was changed?
  23. Having played this on 50 teams and TFs a while this weekend, I can say that Unkindness is not a power to keep at 50. It activates too slow, the damage is a slow-ish DOT, and the cone isn't quite as big as Fearsome or Living Shadows. Also it recharges fast so I think proc chance is low. In groups doing radio missions etc., I generally found myself spamming Feral Charge and Call Hawk to try to get the +recharge buff from Force Feedback so the 2 AOE controls would be up faster, especially Heart of Darkness. Used Fearsome largely when those were down. Thinking about a build that swaps it out 6-slotted for Rending Flurry, so that I can have a 4-procced out PBAOE to hit after Feral Charge, sometimes with 5-stacks. Though it may recharge too fast for may procs to be useful? Otherwise, for team play, I see why josh went fire epic for Fireball.
  24. This is where i ended up after some input from a forum member via DM, who had built for +res and taken the fire epic. Largely involved abandoning all pets (no haunt) and proccing out Heart of Darkness. Took Hoarfrost as it seemed like it would give extra margin of error on hard moments. Playing this now to see how it goes. Def to S/L and Ranged are 40%+ so I softcap with Fearsome stare or a small purple or probably easily on teams. I see the appeal of Fire epic for the Feral Charge / Fireball / Heart of Darkness proc-nuke goodness. But I still wanted to try Sleet/Icestorm.   25. Was toying with swapping out Maneuvers for Hoarfrost (2 slotted with heal sets maybe numina). Not sure worth it or not. On the one hand, lowers the defs to S/L/R down to ~36%-37%. On the other hand, adds (apparently) like a 400hp buffer but is up only every 180 secs or so for 120 secs.
