  1. I'm for it!

    https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/33013-make-weapon-type-selectable-for-masterminds/#comment-423503

But then, I'm also generally in favour of anything new, interesting, and grants players more options to explore City's best feature.

So . . . do you envision this Archetype maintaining the Control Pets, @biostem?  Or would the presence of Henchpets in the Secondary necessitate that all the Control Sets have their Pets replaced with some other type of Power?

As suggested in the post I linked, I would think an Archetype like this would work well by removing the three Attack Powers from the Henchpet Sets, and replacing them with self-Survival Powers.

ie:  Mind Over Body, Indomitable Will, and Heightened Senses from Willpower for Mercenaries.

Dark Embrace, Murky Cloud, and Dark Regeneration from Dark Armour for Necromancy.

Ninja Reflexes, Danger Sense, and Kuji-In Sha from Ninjitsu for Ninjas.

Dampening Field, Energy Protection, and Energize from Energy Aura for Robots.

Fire Shield, Plasma Shield, and Consume from Fiery Aura for Demons.

    et cetera.

  2. You'll always be the Orenbegan Ziggy Stardust Fan, @Coyotedancer.  Title or not.

Also also, related to this latest version of Invision ...

    image.png.b11e54ac8afd7d6dc0545ce7a69b3a97.png

I just started a new topic and saw this little box had changed.  What's the "or All / None" thing about?  Those both appear to be clickable, but I didn't get any hyperlink or context clues as to what they'd do.

  3. Not even 4 days in, and they've reached half a million in donations this year:  https://desertbus.org

They reached over $1,000,000 last year, but that wasn't until after the main fundraiser was done and they were counting merchandise sales.  I wonder if they'll manage to break that milestone while still streaming this year.

  4. Presumably unrelated to the Badges themselves, this update to Invision seems to have also removed the "Title" feature, and changed the quick-profile pop-ups by removing some of the displayed data in the process.

What are the odds of a rollback?  How much of this update had important security features bundled in it?

  5. I'm still off on vacation and don't have access to my home PC, but as I recall, that information is stored in the mission files, which are stored on the servers.  I don't believe any Clue or Souvenirs are stored locally (other than AE Souvenirs).

It might be handy to post about this in the https://forums.homecomingservers.com/clubs/2-unofficial-homecoming-wiki/ Club.  Someone there might be able to review the i24 files to fixer-up'er all the Wiki pages for missions that are missing Clue details.

  6. Here I am on the completely other end of this where I feel the Local distances are too short.
Although, chat scroll in crowded places is definitely a disruptive influence.  Additional features to reduce barriers and improve players' abilities to keep their chat experiences easily organized is very welcome.

How much of a pain would it be to give players an option to set their Local reception ranges independently?

Bonus points if we can have multiple ranges of Local (ie:  Local 250, Local 100, Local 50, Local 25), and players can pick-and-choose which Chat Tabs receive which ranges.

  7. Stalkers are single-target specialists, mostly.  Wiping out a mob of minions is more of a Tanker, Brute, or (shudders) Scrapper thing in melee.   (Also, special nod to some Epic Archetype and Dominator builds in this regard.)

I tend to focus on building my Stalker to capitalize on as much burstiness as possible, particularly for a Set like Kinetic Melee.  I don't have a build in front of me right now, but . . .

    - Try getting the heavy hitter single-target Powers up in both terms of Damage and Recharge, and using the weaker ones as filler or finishers when the target has just a sliver remaining.

    - Don't be afraid to use Assassin's Burst again during a fight; the Crit chance is high, and can sometimes outright delete targets that you thought you were just going to soften up.

    - Your Tier 9 Primary unlocks at level 32, and while it is subject to much complaint and controversy in the hands of any other Archetype, it's quite solid for the Stalker specifically!  It should help tremendously.

    - Pop Build Up every chance you can during a fight; the ATO Proc that refreshes it can give you opportunities to triple stack it (very rarely)!

    - Popping a Gaussian Proc in there also helps a lot, as it gives you (if memory serves) +80% Damage for roughly 5 seconds on top of the normal Build Up Damage boost.

    - Finally:  If you know you can considerably soften or even defeat a Lt or Boss without popping Build Up before hand, consider using Build Up to help you mop-up the stragglers instead.

This is just what works for me, mind you.  Other players might offer contradictory advice.  It's all good!  Try everyone's suggestions, and see what's right for you, @Aeroprism!

Good luck and I hope you have tonnes of fun!

  8. From a stance of PvP, I recall a thread recently where someone asked what it would take to get non-PvP'ers more interested and engaged in PvP.

Aside from some players saying "literally nothing," the biggest take-away I got from the thread was "things don't behave the same way in PvP as they do in the rest of the game."

Disabling something like Jump Pack for edge-case hardcore PvPers isn't likely to win over any new blood in to the PvP environment.

I dabble on occasion, but I sure don't like the leagues-of-legends-level of metagame that hardcore PvP entails.  Calling targets?  Having to use discord?  Those are massive barriers to entry.  The Zones should be the accessibility gateway, shouldn't they?  Wouldn't it be wiser to have the Zones behave more like the rest of the game, and if someone gets hooked, THEN you can bring them in to the depths of the mire that is arena culture?

As for me, I explained my personal issue in https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/23657-focused-feedback-pvp-updates/page/7/?tab=comments#comment-288316

Was there more to that I could elaborate on to further articulate my concern with this particular issue?
