change the graphic of ice armor, looks more like cold air flowing over an ice block. use a dark color, looks a bit like fuzz. Much better than the old block look.

Nope, I read it. What you are saying applies in the era of I4 with SO. A tank would only need about 15 slots dedicated to the resists/defense, rest can be dedicated to attacks. Tanks can't really train unless you got retards who don't know to stop that continue to run through groups. aggro cap means they can only pull 16 and anything else is aggro on the team member who went to flirt with the next group; which tanks cannot pull off very well. a defender or corrupter could slot radiation blast for -defense to enhance the character with what ever their buff set is. Tenebreous Tentacles in dark blast can take range target or immobilize. You don't even need to slot single target hold for hold duration, recharge and ACC can cover it with multiple applications. A single hold enhancement would just help cover that gap. Single target hold can benefit from range damage sets. you can slot AoE hold all you want, but it would benefit more with recharge and acc, as the recharge is so long with a short duration its worthless because everything is dead. Can use damage PBAOE sets for just an extra bit of omph to kill stuff. With an IO build for smash/lethal def, I can avoid 75% of incoming damage. Than empathy or force field are useless power sets with their buffs so splash heals like dark miasma, radiation debuff, or time work pretty well. team benefits more with debuff which radiation blast can cover in spades of need be. My 2 dominator are built more for damage, an dark/Ice build around the pets with just the immobilize and fear cones slotted for damage. Dark/Psi built more for damage, has the PBAOE stun which hardly uses, as the fear and immobilize work better, which are slotted for damage and procs. Both have the Ice mastery, so with hoarfrost it can tank a return alpha with stuff debuffed from fear and the immobilize wearing stuff down. The single hold is slotted with damage procs to nail bosses.

lo you are playing the wrong game my friend. People can slot how ever they want and still function. Once you get to IO set, it doesn't really matter what you pick and slot.

Derp me. I was looking at typed. You are soft capped all posital, +5 boost the defense and you can cap that AoE. So for a hodge podge build with defense and resist, you pulled it off. I noticed you have 6 LOTG global recharge, can change it to something else. Maybe move the +3 defence global in tough to it, free up 1 slot.
-
Reconsider your slotting, first line of defense on a defense based set is....defense. You got Deflection slotted with resist, where as you cold get another 5% defense out of it with defense sets. Change out the sets with CJ, put more defense in Deflection. You could probably get by with 75% resist and soft capped defense, having capped resists doesn't help if you are getting slapped around with -15% from the soft cap and getting hit by anything with a -defense debuff further making it worse. Here is a defense build I had been looking at, with low recharge trying to make a cheap one. Could possibly give you some ideas, I may reconsider it after getting back to the character. Resists are about half what you have, I hadn't even bothered to consider that you could put resist sets in the defense toggles; thats so opposite of every other defense toggle.
-
I am not going to critique or give a suggestion this time as I already did, I just have one question What is your end goal for for this toon ? I look at the title and the build, I get 2 conflicting answers that I cannot come to a conclusion of 1 as to what you are trying to do.
-
Avoid TW, the mechanics are clunky and you start to lose that fun factor real fast. If the set up time was 1 or 2 attacks, no problem....its all of them, generating the momentum to counter the delay in the set up or unlocking the certain ones that rely on it. For a first time player, play something like Katana/Claws/Savage/Martial/Kintetic. Much faster animation times and recharge, the clunky slower ones are a turn off for a beginner; Axe/Mace/TW. Energy Melee is probably ok, explain the slower animation time in the last attack can be countered with the other one. For a secondary, Invincibility or Willpower. Easy passive play sets so they can start to understand the game mechanics of +def/+regen vs number of enemy or the taunt effect.

Who the hell listens to that idiot? Guy is a moron. Don't listen to him! lol 🤣 How is it working out? Never thought I would be useful in a build creation, more of a suggestion in how to go about it and point people in a direction they may customize it to their needs. Yeah, drops are faster. Its not as efficiently in drop percentage, but if you can blitz through a few more missions in the same time as a +4/8 it averages out more. I have to AFK farm with my SM/Fire on +3/8 as I used stealth to cap out defence; before they buffed it into Invisibility. Used to be able to aggro stuff near by as they patrolled on Briggs maps, now they need to run through the Burn patch to get aggroed.
-
Agree, but for a melee attack working the same way its not very great. Since the dot damage takes so long to apply, it's inefficient on anything not a boss. With enough recharge, the dot stacks but if you EXHAUST! one time you are on cool down for like 6 seconds where the damage is still barely finished. And fast enough recharge means I can just hammer the first 3 attacks and Hit rending flurry at 4 Bloodfiry to keep up an attack chain while clearing minions around. Get the recharge bonus consistently going, clicks like Firery Embrace or Bio clicks come back a little faster.

Do These Powers Work With Powexeclocation Slash Command?
Outrider_01 replied to Tailcoat's topic in General Discussion
Savage Leap is target based. Teleports to target, PBAOE attack. -
Fire's secondary, is extra damage. Could say its like Sonic that adds -resist, but Fire's is +damage (not a modifier, just straight added)

Rough build, not super happy with it but perma hasten with 3 50 IO and +5 boosted, as well as all defense IO for the LOTG. Ends up 45% S/L soft cap, an extra 6 KB protection when jumping and grounded isn't taking effect, and S/L/C/F all with about 83% resist. Will hurt against CoT with how much Neg damage and -regen, but should do ok against Carnie. Anything else, like Praetorian or some of the positron cyborgs depending on if you are hit with a debuff. And the Superior condition is useless with Endurance reduction in Energize And I didn't see you had flight, easy switch for CJ/SJ for Hover/Flight. Drop Vengence, pick up Evasive manuevers. Now slot Hover and Evasive with LoTG global recharge. Downside to flight pool, it negates the benefit of Grounded and the KB protection. -

Bonesmasher, Total Focus, Power Crash, and Energy Transfer have you covered. Bonesmasher and Power crash are about the same for your low damage attack, Total Focus and Energy Transfer are your "Yeah, sorry about that; I am sure they can reattach your head." You only need about 4 attacks on a tight min/max build, the ones I listed are 3 single targets with sufficient recharge you don't need barrage and the cone is so wide with decent damage it can substitute for a single target in a pinch. edit: derp, forgot Energy punch which you need to select at creation but wouldn't need to slot depending on the build. -

build for smashing/lethal defense, checks vs all split damage like Energy Melee/Blast or Ice Blast/melee; Dark blast will hit but some of Dark Melee N/S will be avoided. You can get the resists upwards of 75-80% on everything but Neg, Toxic, Psi. Problem with electric is, your weakness is healing, your recovery click is a +HP with regen on a long recharge; one CoT mage or some energy attack with -regen and your brute will be crying as those resists are doing nothing while gettting hit with Range/AoE; hope you don't get hit with Rad blast with -def. -
Even if its an HC only function, let me ask you this Are level 1 hellions grey at 50? Are level 6 Clock work in Atlas (upper right corner map, near perez park) Purple to you at level 1? How many level 54 are even con at vet level 4? How many 54 are grey at vet level 10 ? Why at vet level 100 do you do the same damage as a level 50 (before vet 1) against a +54, yet your damage increases to laughable levels when smacking around a level 1? Vet levels are just a status number, its a way to get cheap incarnate pieces which you will max out on what you need by Vet 20. After that, vet levels mean nothing but that its your favorite character or its a fire brute.
-
The max cap, is 50. There is nothing beyond it. Every time you ding a vet level, its just 50 all over again for a shiny explosion of light to give a feeling of accomplishment. It rewards nothing because it means nothing and was just a way to keep people invested in playing the same character back on live. Like a minor milestone in life, makes behavior feel like a great achievement because it shows 9,001 vet levels.

Stalker's Savage Leap doesn't crit inside hide. Trying to figure out if this is a bug, as its a teleport PBAoE like Rending Flurry which does crit. thinking the tohit check is made first, drops hide, and there crit check is after the hide drops.
-
Yes, just don't forget to add KB protection and aim for Smash/Lethal defense. Rest is up to you.

You missed the key phrase at the end Range enhancements let you reach out and bitch slap the enemy first outside 80 range, calling collect and putting them down Swift and hurdle increase speed with generic, you put the IO sets in sprint. Unsuppressed movement at this point Blasters have this thing called /XYZ Manipulation secondaries, the official term is "Chew bubble gum, drink caffiene, and kick ass." "Sadly, hyped on caffeine and out of gum" is the other term, followed by "Shit man, didn't mean to hit you that hard" Quick movement to bitchslap blapping range from 100 range with that range enhacement to "oops, you head was where my fist was" melee range. CJ you can slot quite a few from defense sets, and IO travel sets, to maximize speed movement See unsuppressed movement Secondary effect damage procs help Ice or Dark blast, Fire blast gets nothing but you can maximize both range and melee with the speed to from here to there. Fire would benefit from everything listed except the damage procs. If you want to play different. With soft cap defense and perma hasten. I have rolled 2 dominators recently, picked up flight. I abhorred flight since 2004 because of hover speed and flight's drift....now they stack....and only better with Evasive Maneuvers. One dominator has 48.5% soft cap to smash/lethal, so I can turn off hover if I want ground movement in caves. They don't have range enhancements, but different playstyles where the Dark/Ice has Dark's 2 pets and ice blast where the Dark/Psi has only 4 control powers but a mix of PBAoE, Cone, Single target damage in the secondary. Both have the Ice Mastery, with hibernate for recovery and Hoarfrost for extra hitpoints; one has Sleet and Ice Storm slotted for damage (both) but the damage against a 54 is tiny so the debuff slow/resist are minute anyway. No incarnate on them yet either. I have a Trick arrow corrupter, most of the debuffs can reach out to almost 100 with range enhancements. So, with oil slick or glue arrow slowing them down they can't get close enough while debuffing everything else...plus the team mates in front of me. Two brutes that feel more like tanks with a higher damage cap, so kind of meh without a smashy smashy feel to it. Trying to get teleport to work with a character concept, but can't find an AT/Prim/Sec that fits my needs. Something different, outside theme which I only ever used on 1 character on life. They are not the WTF iPWN! BBQ!?!?!?!?! at damage or tanking or control but they get the job done in very different but clunky ways. And it works.
-
to be fair, it could allow more slotting by opening slots not tied to defense. Ice Blast, there are no damage range procs but there is a slow IO -smashing damage proc. Maybe add range enhancements. Move slots to mobility powers like CJ, Infiltration, Swift, Sprint, and Hurdle for unsuppressed movement. Its not ideal top end FOTM damage, but allows one to maximize DPS in different ways based on preferred play style.
-
Because I can cap 45% soft cap smash/lethal, bypass 3/4s of the damage in game from split types like fire/smash (Fire ball) or cold/lethal (Ice blast). Energy blast is a joke at this point, defense against smash or if it hits you got KB protection from IO. Biggest weakness being pure energy like Lighting blast or Dark Blast is the only one I worry about more so for side effects of -end or -tohit. Toxic and Psi are so rare even end game, you only have to worry about carnies. I worry more about heavy front loaded lethal/smashing attacks that fail the defense check, because its going to hurt...badly. Otherwise I hope to get hit with a splash heal or pop a green. In the process I can get perma hasten at 180% with 2 IO 50 which is +5 boosted, resulting in 2 dominators taking the Cold Mastery to get almost perma Hoarfrost for an extra 550 hitpoints with only 20 seconds downtime (Incarnate only brings it closer). Frozen Armor is just as good as Scorpion shield, with a bit added cold resist. Hibernate, only 1.5 min recharge or less, iPWN! button for endurance recovery between perma domination/hasten and hoarfrost on a seperate keybind; swapping 3 powers as auto clicks. One dom has Ice Storm/Sleet for minor debuff with slow/-resist, other has more attacks and in Psi I can get pretty decent regen for 30 seconds as well as slow the attack rate of stuff; which is minor but enough recharge puts a cone or AoE on sub 5 second recharge. Pretty much none of my characters feel like powerhouses, but the dominators are still good at locking down with pretty decent survivability. Brutes feel more like tanks, probably because they are built similar to the dominators and have slow animation powers; even on electric armor with 3 different primaries they gulp down blue like its going out of style. the tl;dr - almost no point for a force field, it doesn't bring much to the group you can't fix yourself. No debuffs, so the rest of the set is useless in most cases unlike Cold/Sonic/Fire that have buffs/debuffs.
-
which AT has /Whirlwind powerset ? Is that like Blasters? *gust of wind* FACEPLANT! type thing? Any blaster could go toe to toe with Thanos and win, until they go up against a stiff breeze blowing by.
-
Wow such terribad suggestions Anything/Regen Cause it had to be thrown in and said for meme sake. 🤣
-
Pretty much this. 4 clicks on this character, Dom, Hasten on key bind for movement. Hoarfrost on right movement, so the 3 alternate. Keyed to e is Drain Psyche, used about half the time. Did ITF yesterday, worked pretty good with only 1 face plant. Still feel clumsy with 2 many powers, but it works if only I remember when to use in what situations. Cone fear, immobilize, and Psi attack or PBAoE psi drain, attack, and stun. Lots of movement shifting into the right position.
-
That's not a farmer, that's a utility swiss army knife good at everything but not useful at a specific thing. You should have a specialized build explicitly for farming, use one of the alternate build options at a trainer and make one for PVE. I noticed the brute ATO, lots of other cheap sets like the Miracle set and the triumphant sets are cheap. No LoTG global recharge in the defense toggles. The overwhelming force and steadfast +KB protection is useless in a farm stat wise unless you need the KB protection which doesn't exist in a farm. If you want to farm, replace superior conditioning with Mu or Soul for an extra AoE attack. And the Stamina slotting, its not 2004 as I said the Ageless incarnate has you covered.
