Dark Grasp - acts like a range attack, can slot quite a few damage procs Living shadows - AoE immoblize, I slot for targeted range sets. Minor damage, but helps Fearsome Stare - Bread and butter, slot -tohit in it. You got Domination, doubles fear mag, already lasts 30 seconds, and enough recharge its sub 30. -tohit to absorb alpha return fire Heart of Darkness - PBAOE stun, I have 3 Dark/ dominators and only have it on 2. Its kind of meh, living shadows and fearsome stare are range its habit to not run into melee range. its ok, rarely use it though. Haunt - have 1 character with it, others skipped pets and play like a blapptroller. I can't find a use for Possess unless solo, groups just tear up groups that a single target confuse is useless. Shadow Field - AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS. It is an unimpressive waste of a power. IT is primarily a -tohit patch with 5% chance to hold for 48 seconds, seen Hellions run out of it and this was at level 50. Volcanic Gasses look like it auto hits hold for 8 seconds, much better in my opinion as the hold is reliable and hits multiple bad guys. Shadow Field would only be good as a proc bomb with hold damage procs.

Actually, the last 2 powers are up to you. you could drop acrobatics and assault than move the 2 free slots to the resist/defense toggles to slot some +KB protection. Can pick any 2 powers for the last 2 options but they would be unslotted mostly; like maybe the laser eyes for a cheap range attack.

Try this, its relatively cheap on the farmer build to be affective, but requires 2 Brute AT sets so it may run 350m influence (you can hodgepodge anything if you wanted to even cheaper). Its PVE capable as well farmable, 45% defense smash/level to run +4/8 and I don't know anything for the forms but any one of them looks to be effective; I mainly play SM/Fire for my farmer so understand a combo set up. No hasten, realized the build has very few clicks so its not really necessary, Cloak of Fear and Oppressive Gloom -- Slotted for damage procs -- Endurance heavy on Cloak -- Oppressive Gloom is light as CJ on endurance, but has a -HP penalty with it. Luckily dark regen has a short recharge and very powerful heal. BEWARNED! This build is endurance heavy, you cannot run all of these toggles unless you have incarnate which I didn't select as its up to the player. You can turn off Assault and be ok or you both Assault + Cloak of Fear. Acrobatics is good for missions, if farming shouldn't be needed unless you are running something with KB/KD/KU. If using in a PVE mission, turn off 2 or it will drain you fast. Note, if you custom build a map; avoid lethal attacks so make sure you check the powers for the bad guys. Make sure there is no -def or KB/KD/KU; the -def works against you and DA lacks any KB protection inherently (Acrobatics). Its easy to customize a map to avoid some of the negative aspects of your power combo; Electric armor can do a map with Energy Melee / Energy Blast bad guys, couple of +KB IO protection, a smash/lethal defense to check against the smashing portion of the Energy attacks (split SM/ENG); do not use Electric Blast or Electric melee to avoid endurance sap.

you are going to need to ask him if he wants fire farm or lethal/smashing, dark armor has the same amount base. Fire you can cap easier, as you will use purples or winter which have 6% stacked up 5x.

Not a fan of spines, but here is something KB protection is lower than I like when above the ground and jumping, no travel power unfortunately and you need to +5 boost the defense powers + build up to get the best effect. Sprinkle incarnates to your flavor.

ok, my worthless opinion, 1 useless power with stealth unless you like to toggle it and you are probably never going to use the stealth power on others. Think I have seen it used twice even since live. Not going to plug and hype flight, but that vertical height helps with melee attacks and avoid getting bashed by a freakshow with hammer hands. -

and evasive maneuvers in flight, been my go to travel power for almost 6 toons, hover 1 slot, flight 3 or 4 (max speed), and evasive with 1 LOTG or sometimes a second with endue reduc, its a little heavy running 3 flight toggled. -
Always boost the defense IOs like LoTG, gives about 1.5% extra defence which can save a slot. Also boost the generic IO recharge in hasten, makes 2 enhancement worth 3 at ED values. My Savage/Fire brute is +5 everything, the only one I ever did for shiggles.

Pick a set, make your own build. My Grav/Psi dominator is just a blaster with ranged attacks using propel + hold and a cheap perma domination build. My other dominators are built as DPS more so than holds, no pets and some procs, such as fear power with 2 damage procs. My poison Ice corrupter, damage procs in its debuffs...not huge but its passive in a way. for example take the single target holds, you can get about 4 damage procs in it. Dont slot for hold, just pretend its a ranged attack. -
Slight tweak of Flammefatale, lots of +Fire defense which is negligent if a pure PVE build and you use another build slot. This is a lethal/smash defense build which will work against 75% of the attacks with split damage types, which check against the smash/lethal part

Make different-level SO enhancements fungible on the AH

Meh, you are wasting influence. Scrap the AH of 48+ SO, by dirt cheap for less than a 1000 or sometimes 100 inf. Sell to vendor, profit! ACC and Damage are like 15k, resist are like 11k and some are as low as 8k. It takes time, but you are able to buy the generic IOs around level 10-15s, by 30 your should have enough influence for generic 30 IO. -
Depending on preference, I prefer Ice. Hoarfrost give about 500hps more and down for 20 seconds with enough recharge. Select and ice storm are easy to 3 slot and still be very useful.

Perma hasten, domination, and tie it to a rolling bind tied to W. Put Hoarfost on similar bind to S, but its not a rolling bind it just activate say turning it to an auto fire which switches to auto of hasten or dominate with the W.

Plant/Psi maybe. I have 2 dogs with Psi melee, one high build and 1 cheap, both are perma Dom. The high end dark/psi can fear, immobilize, (couple of procs in them), fly in, drain to get 13 end / 120hp a sec hp regen, than spam Psychic Wail (forget the name, between the short PBAOE and the long recharge nuke).

Alright, it needs a better name. Anyway, playing with a /martial arts dominator. The animations are pretty, this needs a pure blast set for ranged types. Shuriken throw - Swap animation with trick shot, Trick is tossing one single star and seems more appreciate. Trick Shot - First, needs a better name but can keep the chain aspect with up to +16 targets, maybe less. Swap to Shuriken throw, which throws 2 stars underhanded out from the body. Pose reminds me a little of a cowboy draw with 2 pistols. Masterful throw- double toss two stars after a power up. Needs animaton fixed, the stars come together but spin on the wrong axis. Explosive Shuriken- grab a massive star from your back, spin, and toss it. Envenomed blades - Instead of build up, a +DoT attack is added to the weapons. Maybe borrow aspects from Dual Pistols like damage types. Half the powers are missing, no different animations. I don't know what else to think of

Dominator I don't really know for farming compared to a brute, as I haven't finished one but my dark/Psi/ice is pretty survivable in PVE missions but I only run it in groups; cones don't really work well to use control without them spread out a bit but Psi Shockwave hits hard enough to melt them. the thought process for farming is the same, - Defense to soften the alpha; if you avoid 3/4s of attacks you will survive long. - Resist to absorb the remaining 1/4 attacks - Map type, you said mission so there is an advantage there that the spawns are spread out. Compared to a briggs map, slowing down the rate helps control the kill rate and not be overwhelmed The few doms I see, usually a smash/lethal farm. They tend to be plant/ with confuse and rely on Creeping vines for damage. Looking at my own dom for farming as a Plant/MA/Ice for something different as 2 of my Doms are (Dark/Psi high end build, Gravity/Psi cheap build), 1 is Dark/Ice built around pets but probably respec out pets, and one is Dark/Savage (doesn't play well, can't get a flow going). I am not using pets anymore, at +4/8 and in groups they just die to +5 AoE attacks. I don't have enough experience to make a fire/psi dominator explicitly for farming, but a few I could suggest or at least in my opinion - Fire cages, slot for damage over immobilize purple. Its already pretty long and short recharge; its basically an AoE attack - Bonfire. Its a burn patch and soft control. Its popular with blaster farm characters. - Map, standard briggs maps don't work well as you need to control the flow of NPC to you. If you cast fire imps, each and every imp will aggro more than you can handle. The city maps with fire damage type would work well. I had a Fire/Kinetic control back in the day, never did AE farming but would run over to Dark Astoria when it was a level +30 hazard zone. Farm the BP zombies, stun + immb than run in with hot feet. Cast Cinders when it wasn't a half hour recharge so it was a back up hold. He was my go to prestige for SG farmer with all SO, and did well in normal content but that was before you could +4/8 a map solo.

Farming Dom? You have almost zero fire defense to avoid attacks to soften alpha strikes, fire resist isn't capped, and you are way over slotted in Health or Stamina when you got Psychic Drain.

stop making super man builds, its not mandatory. Set yourself up a challenge to make intentionally weaker characters, I started a personal project to make 3rd stringers who are effective at their job or different. Instead of Batman level, aim for Superman or Flash....I set mine for Booster Gold comedy sidekick level.

Should organize it by type Travel - Run, Jump, Flight Control - Hold, Confuse, Stun, Immobilize, Intanble (defunct), fear, Taunt (funky form of control), Knockback, Sleep Buff - Resist, Defense, Heal, Endurance Recovery, Tohit Debuff - Tohit debuff, Defense Debuff, Slow Generic - Accuracy, Recharge, Damage, Endurance Reduction, Interruption, Range Picturing a convoluted periodtic table, like -Tohit next to +tohit but DMG/Heal next to each other as well since its +/- HP.

Do the HC developers still talk to the original Devs? I have crackpot conspiracy theories that there are a few Live Decs with HC who managed to snag the base game code, how else were they able to get it? Intern Jimmy "accidently walking" out with a game server to be repaired by IT and forgot to return it 🙄 -
Still have entries for Intangible, but they removed them and dindn't even do anything to the powers but for the one in gravity. And I am sure there are less than a handful of intangible powers.

Savage Melee Secondary (/Energy, /Rad, or /Something Else)?)

Nice seeing more shout outs for Savage, rarely see it in game. Savage is now my main thing, to roll a bunch on various AT with different secondaries than make cheap IO builds. Just made a stalker, doesn't flow well with AoE so dropping Shred and Rendering Flurry; think it will be better at single target DPS. Regen means nothing high end, 1 CoT death mage or something beam with -regen; you are screaming like a baby once your defense gets a cascade failure. Haven't really looked at anythig with Regen debuff protection, but any character I have that gets hit is 0.0 regen a second. -
