  1. I might look into the decreased mez time. I don't recall my henchmen being mezed all that often. I don't plan on respec'ing any of them (none of them are anywhere near level 49), but I will probably have to sort around some slotting. Oddly enough, the first one I logged into ... I went to a tailor to do one-thing-or-another and had a costume part error message. For whatever reason, it didn't like the weapon I had picked on that robotics mastermind. No idea when that started. I haven't tried to do anything to their costume for a longtime. Oh, I remember why I went into it, I saw that there were different Walk stances so I went in to set one of those (not that I really ever use Walk).
  2. Do you run an antivirus program? Does it have cleaner or optimizer feature? Run it. People say that it doesn't make any different, but I would suggest going into any browsers that you use and clear the cookies and history. After that reboot. If you use Windows, see if there are optional updates. In rare instances, those optional updates may be needed. I'll go into the City later and check on this use of the windows key to toggle out of The City. I use Alt-Tab and have no issues.

I'll start off by saying, if enemy is closing on you when using a ranged weapon, falling back seems to be better than drawing a melee weapon. In a fantasy setting, you're going to see an archer fighting by themself, but, probably in most historical cases, you are going to see archers mixed in or behind a line of warriors with some kind of melee weapon. Rows of spear bearers (some times with different length spears) with archers behind them was commonplace. That being said, you could hold the bow in the left hand and draw a sword (knife, axe, mace, etc.) and fight with it one-handed. Of course at that point, the plan would be to drop the melee weapon when it came time to switch back to bow use (or maybe sticking it in the ground if it is a sword - which isn't good for the point of the sword). I would assume you would be using both hands to resheath a sword (maybe not a knife) or put whatever other melee weapons back in what was holding it. Depending on how fast the enemy is closing and, the calculation that a sword would be of better use, and you might have time to stow the bow.
  4. ... was immediately against microtransactions. yes. We escaped that bane. Why even bring it up? There is no need to unless your goal is to bring them back. One of the reasons I quit my subscription to City of Heroes was because of the microtransactions. So, yeah, you are going to trigger me if you bring up microtransactions.
  5. That is flipping as well. I would also consider crafting an enhancement, placing it on the market, taking that money, and buying an attuned one at a lower price than you made on the sale of the item to be flipping as well.
  6. The three of them do have a history of working together. I agree that the microtransactions and the push to use microtransactions (through various means) has increased at Daybreak in general in recent years. In DCUO's case, I blame the player base for much of that. There are those that seem to be more than willing to throw what seems to be hundreds of dollars at DCUO whenever some new money-sink is offered to them. I've had been able to buy a lifetime membership with Daybreak a good while before Homecoming appeared. It paid for itself within 2 years. It was a good investment at the time as I was playing quite a bit of Planetside 2 at the time as well as DCUO (more Planetside than DCUO). With the 500 Daybreak cash they give members every month, they have been paying me to play for a good while at this point, but I have restraint enough not to fall into their money-traps. It is a tangled web. That is why I cited the sources.
  7. No. It is not against the rules. But, as others have stated, the person doing so won't often get the profit margin they may be expecting and even might go into a loss. Well, "flipping" isn't necessarily "buying up all of something up". It is buying something at one price and selling it for a higher price regardless of the quantity. No threat powers are autohit in PvP. Not that all that much PvP goes on. That and being able to buy such a wide variety of things with merits.
  8. I'm going to need to fix my masterminds. Only 27 of them, should keep me busy for a while ....
  9. Yeah, Star Trek Online was another Cryptic game. Oh, Jack has been involved with Daybreak as a whole since On June 8, 2016. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Emmert "...He designed the MMORPGs City of Heroes and City of Villains.[2] Emmert was the chief creative officer and directed the design of all games from Cryptic Studios, and was involved in the development of Marvel Universe Online.[2] He and Cryptic later decided that Champions would be a suitable replacement for the Marvel Comics IP that they had lost, thus Cryptic purchased the rights for the Champions game and its universe from Hero Games in 2008.[1]: 153  Emmert was the online producer for Star Trek Online.[3]... " - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Emmert Yeah. that "Jack". "... On June 8, 2016, Emmert was made CEO of Daybreak Game Company, a studio in Austin, Texas. He was in charge of the Daybreak Games studio that was responsible for DC Universe Online, and he oversaw all development while reporting to Daybreak headquarters located in San Diego..." - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Emmert "The leader of Dimensional Ink Games is Jack Emmert, who serves as the CEO and is a well-known MMORPG designer." - Google AI search response But, yeah, Andre Emerson and Al Rivera were part of the team that worked on Star Trek online as well. Jack is in leadership above them.
  10. Of course, Homecoming "break even" every month due to donations ... it seems like not by your help. If you like microtransactions so much then try to get in early and help pay to keep servers running when the donation window opens every month. You can pretend it is a microtransaction. I don't really understand this outbreak of late of people wanting to return to a subscription model ... or even worse .. microtransactions!? I sense a Nemesis plot.
  11. If I'm following you correctly, this is only for login badges related to Events and not for any other kind of badge, is that correct?
  12. Er, are there are lot of alts that are all the same character? Are they the same level? Do they have the same power sets? They would have to get the badges if their player wants to make them stronger through use of badges. If they don't run the content, they don't get the badges. You can /respec for existing characters. New characters are new characters. If you decide to play a character other than one that you have gained badges on, then that is on you. The game is built to keep records of all of your characters individually. The game knows how long that an account has existed, the link of the game account to an email address used in the forums, the saved game options for new characters (Existing characters have whatever options they are set up to have), the global name associated with the account, the global friends list, the globals that are on ignore, the in-game email associated with the account, and what characters are linked to that account on each server. I can't offhand think of any other things that are linked in-game that are account wide. None of the characters information cross references between characters. I know this is something you want. Some other players would like it as well. I don't want it. I don't think it fits with the history of City of Heroes. I think it would be very time consuming for the Devs to set it up. All that being said, if the Devs want it implemented, it will be worked on, and I'll be stuck with it regardless of my opinion in the same way that you are stuck when a power set is changed (which happens to me at the same time). It won't. Farming ruined with the AE was supposed to be, and there is no going back. First off, there are people playing AE missions all the time. Most of the time, they are playing farming arcs rather than story arcs. One of the reasons that fewer players are running story arcs is that there is a perception that all AE arcs are farming arcs. Another reason is that farming arcs get the most play and positive feedback. The system shows the number of times an AE arc was played and the rating. People are less likely to play story arcs because they have fewer plays and some of the people that do play story arcs are very, very harsh critics so story arcs tend to have lower - sometimes much lower ratings - than farming arcs. And there are so many farming arcs that it is hard to find story arcs unless you figure out how to search for them. And, as @Dacy pointed out in a thread in the AE forum section, there aren't enough missions created that can be played through the lower levels to allow players to progress through the game by simply playing AE story arcs. Part of that is due to how the system sorts and the other reason is that if you want to get "plays" on AE content you're going to lose more than half the community if the missions aren't set and balanced for level 50. If the goal is really to get players to play AE story missions, then the best way to do that is to run teams and recruit for AE story missions. You can pick which AE missions to run, and the team will join you running the content you selected. There are players already actively doing this. Also, please check out the https://forums.homecomingservers.com/forum/31-mission-architect/ There is a player-run story mission contest going on ... or maybe it has already ended, but it started fairly recently.
  13. It seems a bit obsessive compulsive to feel like you have to get the log-in badges all on all characters. (not to say that I don't get a bit obsessive compulsive about things from time to time ... nor that I didn't do it when I was on playing before the Sunset ... but I had fewer characters back then). If someone has so many characters that it is unpleasant to have to log them all in simply to get a log-in badges, then maybe it is time to thin the ranks of characters you need to log in (at least for that log-in badge). For example, I tend to just log in my cold theme characters for the Winter event badges. I probably will log in other characters during that time window, but I'm not logging them in just to get the badge. Same goes for the Anniversary except based on what the badge name is.
  14. I'm assuming all of the content is "mind numbing tedious dreck" to you based on that comment. Is there content that you do not feel is "mind numbing tedious drek"?
  15. Each character is in their own timeline. When you run on someone else's team, you are running in their character's timeline. The badges are to show what each character has experienced as part of their timeline. I'm glad you shared your point of view on this, but I disagree. And ... there have been other threads about this "suggestion" in the past. What this would do mechanically in game, is give alts all of the perks/bonuses from the various accolades achieved on one character to new characters before a new character would have enough levels to be able to run the content in order to achieve those accolades/bonuses. That would make a new character very overpowered. Also, I tend to get some badges or avoid getting them based on my character conception of each character. You seem to be using "recommendation" to try to make your suggestion more valid. Very creative, but it does seem a bit grandiose ... to me at least. Recommendation: "a suggestion or proposal as to the best course of action, especially one put forward by an authoritative body".
  16. So my duo teammate on test continued to run their tank at level 20. I auto-leveled one of my stalkers up to 20. Seemed to play fine to me. Doesn't seem to be worth it to slot a hold enhancement in Strident Echo - Melee, DMG(Energy/Smash), Foe -Res(Debuffs), Chance for Hold 20% (?) is pretty low. Might as well not to have it take Hold enhances at that point unless the point is to slot a hold proc or more of the same Hold set to get the set bonuses. Honestly, putting a https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Winter's_Bite:_Recharge/Chance_for_-Speed_%26_-Recharge in Attune seems to go off more often.
  17. You are most likely going to get them cheaper on the /AH than you would be crafting them. Some people are still cranking out crafting all of the various levels of non-set IO's for the badges and/or portable crafting table. You should be able to get level 25's for far less than it would cost you to craft them ... even after spending a boat-load of loot to memorize the recipes so that crafting costs would be cheaper. That being said, I think highest level you can get one for free out of doing the University training missions is a level 20. That being said, sure, you could slot a level 10 non-set IO at level 7 and use it all the way to level 50, but the percentage will never increase. The IO non-set enhance percentages never increase, so you will have the same percentage for the slotted level 25 no-set IO at level 23 as you will at level 49 ... aka comparatively decreasing returns over time. I believe some players say that the turning point on non-set IOs is 35 where the non-IO set enhance percentage exceeds that of SOs.
  18. There is a bar at the top of the website click on "Support" and place a support ticket there or through the support option in the menu in-game (it will end up showing up under that "Support" tab in the forums where you can update information there. When you go into that tab, it only show you your support tickets. I would post there to get quicker response. They might PM you directly to resolve this, but I think you might get a quicker response if you use that "support" tab. This is forum section is more for help from other players.
  19. I don't know about powers that share with your teammates. But I do know if you target through another character, and they can "see" the target then your attacks can hit their target. So if your team can't see a target and there is a sentinel on the team, it is likely that the sentinel can see the targets ... and, if the team targets through them, then they can attacks the sentinel's targets.
  20. I'm pretty sure Sentinels have better perception than any other archetype, and I'm assuming that, even if your character is blinded, they can still target through a Sentinel and attack they target that they have targeted. "Sentinels received a new Inherent, Vulnerability, increased damage scales, perception, and resistance to perception debuffs" - https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Sentinel
  21. Yes. Many many threads about it. Easy enough to search for one. There is no provable quantitative number that either love it or hate it. You are implying more hate it, but there is no proof of that. Yeah. People that don't like it say that. From may experience, most of those players seem to be playing melee characters. It is, of course, opinion. If you don't like it, don't use it. If you don't like it when other people use it, then don't team up with players that use it. Enjoy the game. But don't try to ruin it for the other players that like knocking opponents around. Apparently, you don't. However, it isn't just about your enjoyment when you are teaming with other players. They want to have fun too. Some melee characters tried to tell me to, but It didn't take me long to just put them on /ignore There really aren't that many of them. We only have 30 ignore slots in-game and then they oldest one gets shoved off the end of the stack. It has been a long time since I put anyone in-game on /ignore I guess I should word that since I "had" to anyone in-game on /ignore So if you really don't want to team with people that use knockback, one good way is to put them on /ignore That way when you recruit, they might be sending you tells but you won't get them. I have to say ... a team where everyone has knockback is a lot of fun.
  22. But I thought it still is 2004. Look at all the CRT monitors, desk phones ... heck ... payphones on the street corner. Those Menders meddling again ... I bet. They are mangling the timestream and have you thinking it is 2025 when there is evidence all around you that it is 2004!
  23. A level 1 can walk into City Hall, go down stairs, and go in Recluse's Victory and get the Ouroboros portal without anyone helping. More difficult than door-sitting. What exactly is the "BS"? Is it other players wanting to join up to help you or, at least, fight alongside you while you battle to achieve your goals? Is the "BS" all the other members of the community? or just the ones that want to team up with you? You do seem to be pretty frustrated. It sounds like that level 4 that wanted to play was frustrated too. I think it is good to not be frustrated about things. But then I like PuG'ing and running around with people that I have no idea how they are going to behave when we confront our foes, watch the chaos happen, and then revel when a team gels and turns into smooth-running superhero team up. But maybe that's just me.
  24. If you announce it, you are pretty much saying you are recruiting and/or you are willing to join a team to run/do/defeat whatever it is you are announcing. You have to ask yourself if you want to be part of the community and help build it or if your goal is to upset other players that want to join in something you are announcing by ignoring their response to your announcement? That is to say, are you announcing something so that you can use others to achieve your own goals and you don't expect them to get anything out it? Maybe you should just announce "I need some bodies to get something going, but don't even think I'm going to team up with you so that you can get a reward for helping me do what I want to do." Maybe you are playing villains. I expect different kinds of behavior from villains/rogues than I do heroes/vigilantes.
