  1. Gotta hand it to them, though. That's a pretty funny GMOTD.
  2. I read an article about him and the experiment just the other day. I never played PvP but remember a big to-do in the forums about him. I don't find it all that surprising that the behavior of the inhabitants of a social structure might sometimes be influenced more by the rules formed among themselves than by the rules intended for them to behave by. Rules that weren't enforced to be followed either. Look at driving behaviors in big cities. In a large city where police don't ticket for speeding as much, you might see different behavior socially enforced by its drivers than those cities with smaller population and quieter traffic. Once a social behavior is adopted and creates some level of stability, people are gonna react negatively to anything that doesn't follow that behavior. Still, the way people reacted went overboard sometimes for sure.
  3. There's some useful guides in there. Thanks! Here's a rather specific question. Does anyone know of a way to toggle up different Real Combat numbers windows? I was hoping there's a way to switch up which 10 stats are being shown by just making a couple of binds. As a /Bio brute, it would be nice to see different stats on cue when changing adaptation modes.
  4. Sounds like you've had some good timing. Every evening has been like this for me. Just the nature of the beast when dealing with limited resources, man power, and a popular title. We just have to keep calm and play when we can.
  5. Agreed. Did CoH not perform better than Champions or the DC MMO? And I'm sure they had way more marketing.
  6. My main back in the day was an SS/Elec Brute (Durahell, Protector). /Elec is indeed a fun and viable set. Combined with def and +rech IO sets, it was incredibly tough to kill. That said, I was highly impressed with /Bio when testing it during i24 beta, so I'm determined to give it a go. Anything you can suggest or discuss about Rad Melee would be awesome though. Def post that build, thanks!
  7. Ah, thank you! Any idea how to pull up the smaller window? I know there was one that you could have that would display up to 10 stats.
  8. OP could be referring to showing you over all stat totals. Like seeing your def, res, dmg+ bonuses live in game play. I've been trying to recall where you can do that, but it's been so long I haven't been able to remember how.
  9. That was a feature added to the game a few years before being shuttered. First you could do a mission arc to take your hero or villain to the other side. Then they made it so that you could create any archetype as hero or villain from the start.
  10. [insert shocked face] Well, there goes any and all productivity I'll have at work tomorrow.
  11. It's possible to want to do, and enjoy doing both, you know. And as stated before, it's not as appealing to level up the same set of a favorite as it is to just start a new character with different power sets. However, if it should look like there would be an unbalancing to the game with these older characters, I'd be ok with some things not being able to copy over with them. I could trust the devs decisions on what those would be.
  12. Oh man, I remember these stories! The were amazingly well done.
  13. As the title implies, I'll be rolling this brute up this evening. I had an opportunity to really test out Bio Armor on the test server before the game was shuttered, so I know what kind of greatness it's capable of. I thought Radiation Melee sounded like a good combo with it and was wondering if anyone could suggest power selection order while leveling up. Any good strengths/weaknesses to be aware of? Any powers that are skippable?
  14. Holy crap! These forum mods are really killing it today! Wiping out spam posts. Making new subforums on demand. You guys rock! Thanks!
  15. Technically, any toons we make now would still be subject to copyright laws, so I'm not sure how that's any different.
  16. I know this is the way things are done these days, but I have seen more forums devolve into popularity wars because of it. I'm not keen on it. Agreed. Voting on comments would get hairy. I seem to remember the CoH Forums had that issue sometimes. But I wouldn't mind being able to upvote thread topics. For instance, if someone posted a great guide, it could help people looking for guides find better ones more easily. Just a thought.
  17. I'm looking forward to starting fresh with new builds without PLing, but don't find recreating old builds as exciting. Are you sure you're not thinking of the actual account data? Old account data would certainly be a legal issue. But the toons we played wouldn't have any private information in their profile.
  18. I was wondering about this, too. Before the shut down I exported a lot of favorites, would love to revive them if it's possible.
  19. Yeah, plenty of spam bots for drugs. And not any of the fun kinds either. :(
  20. Agree to all, but especially Archetypes arranged like this. There's new brute sets I'd like to ask about but feel like those posts would get lost in the current set up.
  21. Just to clarify, do you mean you enhanced with End Reduction? It's been a while, but stam red sounds like it would be for draining an enemies endurance, not reducing the cost of your endurance. As others mentioned, slotting your attacks for end red would be more efficient. Especially if this is lower level generic enhancements.
  22. But you sure as hell can have a Homecoming! The flood of nostalgia overwhelming me as I return to my favorite game is completely surreal. Knowing that this could be taken away at any moment makes me appreciate the chance to play again, even if it's brief. As a show of appreciation I thought it might be appropriate to share the memories we hope to relive thanks to SCoRE and their efforts. So please share yours here. A few memories that stand for me: Double XP Weekends!! Any time they were announced I would immediately alert all my friends so we could plan out new characters and coordinate times we could all be on. Running the End Game tasks forces (their proper name eludes me at the moment). The multi-team aspect of running these was an awesome feature. It gave my tight supergroup friends and I an opportunity to team up with other groups and make some good alliances. Spending hours on Mids Hero Builder. I loved planning out builds, not just for me, but for friends and strangers too. Which reminds me, I need to reinstall Mids!
  23. I had a few alts that would roll with the RO gang. Can't quite remember if I was officially a member. But I did frequent their site from time to time. Cyanspike and I would usually be playing together with them. Great group of people!
