  1. It's called IC/OOC boundaries. Griefing other PLAYERS is not roleplaying. It's being a jerk. Unless they are following you around and targeting everything you target it is not griefing. Apparently you didn't actually read the post that started this tangent. I was referring to using "I'm RPing an evil character" as an excuse to be a jerk to other PLAYERS. Disrespecting boundaries and the like. It's like in other games where "ninja looting" was a thing, people claiming they're justified in doing it because they're a thief/rogue and "RPing their class". No, that's crossing the OOC line by abusing a mechanic to be a jerk to the players. "RPing" used to justify bad OOC behavior is just despicable.

  3. While this specific matter is nearly universally agreed to be a non-issue with only a few standouts who make a big deal of it, this comment right here is troubling. Why should you care about it? Because I should hope OOC you're NOT a villain. Please don't use RP to justify being a jerk to other PLAYERS. It's not cool at all and only gives the real RPers a bad image.
  4. Nope nope nope. No pay privileges. Once you implement those they're no longer truly "donations". Keeping the game alive is reward enough.
  5. Unfortunately, being able to wear two different shoulder pads would pretty much require completely re-writing the costume system. Asymmetrical customization just wasn't built into it, and a simple mod won't change that.
  6. maybe COH is the wrong game for you because this behavior, isnt seen as "kill stealing" or even as rude and disrespectful. it is highly apreciated and welcome behavior if someone helps you in a fight. Like someone else said, it only becomes a problem if the person is persistently following you around and sniping your kills even after you ask them to stop. But "killstealing" in general in itself isn't seen as rude by the vast majority of players.
  7. Except the vast majority of people don't consider it "unkind". Never have. The system in place makes it a non-issue. "Killstealing" simply isn't a thing that really applies to CoH. You can't actually steal someone's "kill".
  8. A lot of sources? Like what? Seems no one else here has had the same hit, even some people using the same scanner...
  9. Yeah, no, it really isn't. To you, maybe, but your opinion is kinda the minority one on that. Was even when the game was live.
  10. I mean, honestly, for teaming, anything less than +2 is less efficient than soloing...
  11. Bah, stupid initializing confusing the issue. I mean, not to harp on it, but he didn't abbreviate the powers he was talking about in the sub line. ;) Anyway, I can't give a solid answer to the question at hand as I don't crunch numbers that much. I just go with what feels fun. I know I enjoy Street Justice far more than I ever enjoyed Super Strength.
  12. Might want to re-read what he was asking, Charistoph. Had nothing to do with travel powers...
  13. I do recall Leadership being absolutely awesome and pretty much a necessity for Masterminds. ;) Doesn't answer the stacking question, but I'm just sayin'...
  14. Doubt it's any sneaky marketing scheme. Comparisons are natural and even inevitable.
  15. I know it's not a satisfactory answer for you, but "the feel" is what it comes down to for me. CO just felt bland and like a LOT of wasted potential. It had the potential to be a much better game, but never really lived up to it. The costume creator had the potential to be fantastic with its variety and more customization options, but fell short with so few options that were really any good. The action combat could have been much better, but was underutilized. It SHOULD HAVE been better than CoH....but just...wasn't.
  16. Happen to have a link to this interview? Because I recall Jack saying he didn't like the idea of heroes fighting each other. And at that time, Jack was the head honcho.
  17. Agree, looks terrible in my opinion. Glad it's an option for those who like it. Yeah, same. Never have been a big fan of cel shading in general, though.
  18. It's not timing out. The servers are heavily loaded and not stable. You're basically getting mapserved.
  19. It's the staff Lord Nemesis uses. Hence why it's called a Nemesis Staff. :p
