  1. This may seem like pointless pedantry, but it really is a significant distinction. Different power set selections can make two of the same AT play RADICALLY different. Much more so than different specs in classes in traditional MMOs.
  2. So as the duly elected representative of "most in this game", did you do your duty and poll everyone or are you just making assumptions based on your own opinion? Don't recall anyone suggesting that it did
  3. That damn "stop 50 Fir Bolg from escaping" mission in Croatoa.
  4. You're forgetting one major part of that formula: Number of users. In either one, if there's only one user, then it's multiboxing.
  5. I think you are confusing Pixie Knight (this being her first reply to you) with Cosmic Justice who was sparring with you You're right. Sorry, Pixie. My only excuse is 10-14 hour work days as a trucker fries the brain. XD
  6. Not in my family. As someone explained in the thread about dad jokes, "dad joke" isn't a subjective thing. There is no "not in my family". A dad joke is a dad joke. If your dad doesn't tell the types of jokes that fall into that category, that doesn't make them not dad jokes. Just means he doesn't tell dad jokes.
  7. Now I am confused. You've gone from saying CoH isn't solo friendly to sounding like you're arguing that it is... And not being able to tank raid bosses or large packs solo doesn't make a game "not solo friendly" either. Solo friendly just means that you can level and quest at a reasonable rate solo. WoW had that from day one. And, in recent years, has changed a LOT from what you described. Still can't solo raid bosses you haven't massively outleveled, but it's often a simple matter to solo multiple enemies. Everquest, that was not solo friendly save for a couple classes. Soloing even one mob at a time was a time consuming struggle for most classes.
  8. No, they're CoT/Hellions/Sky Raiders. I... think that one belongs in the CoH Dad Jokes thread... I feel both accomplished and dirty. I was going to make that joke... But I decided not to. It was too much of a groaner, and I knew it. But that's exactly what makes it a dad joke.
  9. Except I use f to follow. Handy to stick to those enemies that like to wander about. ><
  10. That's just utterly false. Some have an easier time than others, but any AT can be soloed to 50 fairly easily. Your reading skills must be utterly false as I clearly stated you can with most but are far slower older MMOs are not solo encouraged they have classes that are solo friendly period Being slower does not equal "not solo friendly"... My reading comprehension skills are just fine, you're own personal definitions for terms are the problem.

  12. Oh ffs, now it's stuck in my head too! Here, let me get that out of your head for you:
  13. As I understand it, there is no roll for resistance. It's just straight up damage reduction.
  14. Why? They're no longer even with the company that developed it. The product is officially dead, so it's not like Homecoming is competing with the owners' business. I would think it would be a positive mark that they would be openly happy to see the project they loved so much kept alive by its fans after the publisher killed it.
  15. I unfortunately should point out that, toward the end, CoH had early loot boxes. Those Superpacks.
  16. No, I think you got it. At its core, CoH is an enjoyable game in its own right. It's flaws, however, are what make it beloved because they're more endearing than aggravating for the most part.
  17. When you've lived your life having to hide who you are because of the threat of being ostracized, disowned by family, assaulted, or even straight up murdered for simply living, you deserve to celebrate and be proud when the world is finally reaching a point where it's safe to do so. You do you, boo. ;) I have plenty of LGBT friends. They're all just likely to be wonderful people as straight CIS people. I've known wonderful people in the LGBT community and awful people. Which brings it to the simple truth: They're perfectly normal people.
  18. How about implying that I don't want to talk to someone who keeps changing the argument? If you think I've changed my argument at ANY point, then you grossly misunderstood my argument at the start.
  19. It was perhaps brought in line with pre-stacking Dark Armor. Invulnerability and Super Reflexes still outclassed it post-nerf. Even after the GDR, they outclassed regen. It wasn't useless, but you're either drastically misrepresenting the scope of the changes or you don't actually remember how deep those cuts were. No, I remember exactly how deep they were. Not as deep as you're making it out. Where have I done this even once?
  20. Didn't he get moved over to working on Champions or Star Trek Online? One of the two, I think. "Moved over" as in sold off CoH to NCSoft and took HIS company to make Champions?
  21. I remember my MA/Regen scrapper on live. I could plant myself in front of a +10 Rikti Lt, go AFK for half an hour, and come back to find myself still at full health while it wailed on me. I may not have been able to "handily" defeat it, but the difficulty would be the tedium of whittling it down with the severe hit and damage penalties, not the risk of losing. That was absolutely overpowered, sorry. Uh huh. The dev demo had multiple +10 mobs taken down at once. And regen was still not as powerful as Invulnerability. I'm not sure what you think I was arguing, but it wasn't that regen wasn't overpowered. Just that the devs' justification for nerfing it as hard as they did was actually dishonest. Except nerfing it as hard as they did brought it in line with the majority of other defensive sets. Yeah, the test build they used gave an exaggerated figure over how powerful it actually was, but it was still pretty damn broken. Hence when it was brought down to reasonable levels, people felt it was useless. But wasn't anywhere near useless. I don't think the final nerf was based off that test build. It just needed a harder hit than people are willing to admit and they're using that flub to say it was over nerfed.

  23. Think those were available in "that other superhero MMO", but not CoH. The other one DID do a few things better. Not many, but a few.
  24. Yes, those tankers were 'gods of survivability'. I'd already pointed out how "round up every enemy on the map into one location then AoE them to death while the rest of the team just twiddles their thumbs" was detrimental to the game. Tankers were forming 8 man teams, then insisting the rest of the team enter the mission and do nothing just because the tanker wanted to have some fun against a mildly almost (but not quite) dangerous challenge. Yes, scrappers were soloing AVs. And we continued to do so afterwords too. Well, not every scrapper. But then again not every scrapper could solo AVs to begin with. With or without temp powers Without. With or without temp powers Without. I'd have preferred that Cryptic move towards challenging teams of high level heroes with teams of archvillains rather than attempting to force the genie back into the bottle in service of aa pathetic vision where one hero is equal to 3 minions something that was blown past from the get go. Power bloat does not fix game balance. Diablo 3 has been trying to balance around this philosophy: Always buff, never nerf. The game is an absolute s*** show these days because of it. Honestly, though, it sounds like you're saying they should have balanced around the 6-slot pre-ED nonsense. Which would have made any other slotting style literally non viable. Trying to balance around the most broken builds only breaks every other build in the other direction.
  25. It didn't require "pouring over combat logs"...
