Not that I am against this change, but to be fair, depending on where the character is logged off, it can take up to 20-30 seconds per character. I have tested. It is faster if you happen to log out in a rest zone, like Pocket D. And, I realize you could have been just making a point of it being quick, I just wanted to point this out. The solution to the length of time it takes to log into each character is to either A) level those characters to 50 or B) move those characters to a rest zone (this will significantly cut down on the log in/log out time.)

    Oh yes, I'm aware 🙂

It can also largely depend on your individual network speed, and computer performance.

As you say, I was more making the point that its just a quick process. And my meaning for the 1 second was that you only needed to be actually logged into the character for that brief of a time. Not the actual log in time. But the time spent logged into the actual after after the loading.

It's just to make the character recognized as having been signed in more recently than whatever number of days offline.

Speaking as a player and not as a GM I like this. I often skip offence toggles because much of the time I find it really irritating to have to reactivate them after they go down, and often in the heat of a fight I don't notice they stop until quite a while after. Or they go down, I turn them on, they immediately go down again. Personally I'd quite like the suppression time to be shorter, maybe 4 or 5 seconds, but I'm not going to complain. My builds will change considerably on some of my alts as I like the offense toggles, I just didn't like the fact they went off completely.

Also as a player, I love playing Kheldians and Stone Armor. and this update is such a game changer for players like me! This one update is worth all of page for 4 for me haha

With the altis that results from this game I second the motion to have an account wide check-in only.

Having now read that the above its too difficult, how about no log out timer from when its implemented?

The trouble with this is that there are plenty of active accounts with 50+ lvl 1 name holders that are inactive for like 2 years. So, an account wide thing doesn't help curb that particular issue.

However, with it being per character, once you load into your character select screen, you'll see little notifications beside characters at risk. And a person could avoid this by simply logging into each alt just once a month for about a half second.

I replayed my old arc today in honor of this occasion.

It seems like the new Arachnos recruitment program has made a mess of the final mission in that arc.

If a certain Arbiter appears in female disguise, don't mention it. He's very proud of his disguises.

He might get angry if you mention it and randomly attack you, but just try to ignore him.

In any case, thanks for selecting my arc!

if you need to make revisions, just go ahead and message me ill re-flag the arc as dev's choice

  6. Due to a clerical error in records (switching from the old system to our new current system), I personally missed that one of the previously announced arcs was a winner in the past.

I have since corrected that error, and updated our records to avoid that in the future.

Thank you to those who took notice and informed me. I really do appreciate you all.

The Golden Age of the Paragon Society

    • Arc ID: 3408
    • Created by: @WrongNumber
    • Number of Missions: 5
    • Level Range: 25-54
    • Description: "Every citizen of Paracon City has heard of the adventures of the Paragon Society, a hero group that was active from the 1930's through the 1970's. The last surviving member of this group has asked for your help investigating a secret involving the 5th Column that dates back to World War 2. [SFMA]”

Dev Review: "An extremely enjoyable arc which involves stopping the 5th Column from restarting an old experiment. This whole arc has that Justice Society of America feel from the classic comics and is just overall well organized and consistent. I would definitely recommend this be played by anyone who enjoys beating up 5th Column and that classical comic style.

    The House of Gaunt Saints

    • Arc ID: 37489

    • Created by: @Darmian

    • Number of Missions: 5

    • Level Range: 20 - 25

    • Description: "In the shadows of Praetoria a secret war rages as Praetor Sinclair seeks to wipe out traitors who have allied themselves with the forces of Primal Earth and attempt to sabatage the Emperor's plans. There can be no mercy. [A Praetorian SFMA set prior to the War.] [Tenebrae 3]”.

Dev Review:  "This arc is all about Praetor Sinclair's attempt to permanently deal with Mr. G aka Doppelganger aka Praetorian Protean. There are several twists and turns, some interesting custom mobs, and overall a well written story that fits right in with praetorian content. Darmian's traditional formatting is once again present, and as always is excellent and really improves the readability of the story/clues. I'd definitely roll up a praetorian and go through this arc chronologically with the other praetorian arcs."

Dev Review:  "A fun arc where you uncover a strange plot by a rogue Crey scientist. The missions were enjoyable and the story was quite solid.  All in all, I'd definitely run through the arc again!"

EDIT: 'Cause this was hella fun inspiration and I'm already working on the "coding" part!

At x8 difficulty things look a bit "too much". Also, it's easier to follow the story is you are a team lead or solo."

    Arc ID: 43275

    Publisher: Psychopithicus

    Arc Description:

Feeling that something is amiss with the timeline, Montague Castanella asks for capable individuals to venture into the ancient land of Cimerora to investigate. It soon becomes clear, however, that something is happening that could irreparably warp the future, and must be stopped before it starts.

    Review:

"This arc focused on Montague’s power to sense changes in timelines. In these missions, you’ll tango with what should have been against what is. As past and future fold in on themselves, all you can do is enjoy the ride!"

    The Eve of War

    • Arc ID: 41583
    • Created by: @Darmian
    • Number of Missions: 5
    • Description: "Praetoria's initial attack on Primal Earth had been repelled and the Resistance awats arrival of their new allies, but allies can appear from unexpected places. Belladonna Vetrano needs you to handle something vital. [A Praetorian SFMA prior to the Praetorian War] [Salvation 3]"

Dev Review: "There's tons of clues and flavor texts, and there's no clear divide in factions, names, mob types that make you feel like "Oh, that's the custom one!" as it it fits within the world. The maps are a mix of new and old style maps, so while there's likely to be a mission/map for everyone, all mission maps aren't for everyone and there's definitely an opportunity for "I hate this style map" on a mission or two based on preference. Darmian mixes a lot of linear progression and backtracking, so each mission does feel unique and not the same mission 5 times. It's not a "this is for everyone" arc but rather a "This is an arc focused on a specific story the game doesn't tell, and tries to be accurate to the logic, rather than a gameplay loop trope of a dungeon crawl."

    Damnatio Memoriae

    • Arc ID: 41140
    • Created by: @Darmian

    • Description: "A full scale invasion of Praetoria by PPrimal Earth is imminent and the Resistance is ready for the fight. Almost. The Resistance has a leadership problem and Belladonna Vetrano wants it dealt with. Fast. [An SFMA set in Praetoria prior to the Praetorian War] [Salvation 2]"

Dev Review:  "This arc was a continuation of the Warden story arc from Praetoria. It takes place immediately after the destruction of the Enriche facility and has the player seeking out a missing Calvin Scott. It builds up into a direct conflict with Duray and concludes with his (hopeful) ultimate destruction. I really enjoyed the professional formatting of all the text, including the color coding and numerical organization of the clues, keyed to each individual mission. Clue organization is often one of the largest struggles when designing AE content, so it was a pleasant surprise to see an extremely simple and effective system. The arc itself is well paced and thought out, with multiple triggered objectives, making it feel like this arc could easily have been actually published as content back during Live if the Devs had chosen to take Praetoria all the way toward 50."

Hi, so I've got questions of my  own as for the objectives- I'd hate to put a lot of work into this only for it to be invalid because I didn't happen to tick all the boxes correctly.

    1) As asked earlier- Do the destroyable objects all have to be in one mission, or can they be scattered throughout the arc? I'd like to ask further if the objects have to be required objectives or if they can be optional?

    2) As asked earlier- Do you mean just adding in an ally objective, an ally and a rescue objective, or what?

    3) What counts as "mission text" for the pizza line? Can it be in a clue, mission description, sendoff/acceptance text?

As long as the requirements are met, the arc qualifies. The rest is up to your own creativity to surprise me with.

If the objectives are included in the AE Arc, in any pattern, then it qualifies.

Some simple questions for the contest:

    • Is this exactly or at least?
    • Is it 3 destroyable objects (so having the same object set to appear in 3 locations is fine), or 3 different Destroy Object objectives?
    • Again, Is this exactly or at least?
    • Can this be in a narrative sense (That you would rescue the NPC as a free a captive or escort objective first, and they then appear later in the arc as an ally, surrounded or not), or does it have to be an Ally objective where they immediately become an ally?

Please consider the objectives to be "at least" basis (unless otherwise indicated)
