  1. I think they are moving towards that route because they know they can. The population here is too big to give up should people just leave for other servers and plus, you've got a really vocal group on the forums that will support all the changes.
  2. More power to you if you enjoy the lore and teaming in COH but is there really a point in retaining people who just want to get to 50 and move on to another game? They are probably not the right target audience then.
  3. Gatekeeping is not how we should look at AE Farming. This is a game surviving on a private server run by volunteers. There are no leaderboards, no achievements (e.g. WoW's First Clear in Dungeon/Raid), there are no P2W options and there is no subscription needed to play the game. Thus, your time and effort spent in this game has no more value than what other people spend in this game. People are just nitpicking against AE Farmers for no reason, other than trying to be "nostalgic" - oh we must stick to running contact missions and street sweeping. Look, just play the way you want and stop gatekeeping. If people want to be AE Babies, then that's their choice, their time spent in AE does not harm you or give them an advantage towards whatever arbitrary goals you guys have by playing the "normal way"
  4. Let's be real, getting from Start to Objective is how missions are in game (with mobs in between). If you are not part of the steamroll, you're not helping the team progress from start to objective. That's literally the game engine, unless the devs are able to think of ways to add in mechanics for the non AST/ITF content that require thought to increase difficulty; most of missions would just be a tank and spank to the end. The problem is that certain ATs e.g. Masterminds and Sentinels are already handicapped with lower contribution values: lesser damage, lesser buff values and lower survivability. Along with power sets that underperform e.g. Empathy, Force Field, Broadsword (Not too sure on this but I think it might be), Necromancy, Mind Control. The lack of performance makes the players feel like they are not needed because what they can do, other ATs and Sets can do better. I think those tackling the outlying ATs and Power Sets would be effective and palatable to the community rather than make fundamental changes to the game mechanics (Attack Type Changes, Aggro Numbers etc). I do not need to right click on every debuff or check the attack history to see that "oh right, i forgot it's now a <Insert Energy Type> attack" or "Oh of course, 1 tank would not be enough to get aggro in an ITF" At the end of the day, it's a game on a private server for people to chase nostalgia and enjoy; there's no need to go through hoops just to please a few.
  5. Yeah I agree with adding the KB - KD toggle. I play an Energy Assault and I feel bad whenever my powers knock enemies back at a random probability. Why is this considered fun when mobs are randomly knocked back out of AoE and other Melee Players? I always notice in these KB to KD threads that it's always the feelings of the KB-enthusiasts that we have to be careful about - not trying to ruin their fun. So far, the suggestions are usually optional so I don't get why the backlash. I guess you could say I have internalized knock-phobia.
  6. Agreed. The pet cast time changes were a step in the right direction but the Devs should have gone ahead and adjusted the T1 and T2 pets to match the Mastermind's level while they were looking at fixing the cast times. I guess whatever changes they make now is just depending on what kind of character concepts they or their friends would like to play in game. In my time lurking in suggestions, I don't think I've seen a Symphonic Control set but way more threads/posts asking about adding the Musical Notes FX to Sonic Blast and Sonic Resonance.
  7. Would it be possible to get a poll for the community to vote on the types of changes and content for future Pages? Right now it just seems like there are several updates that the community did not ask for in the Suggestions forums. Sonic Assault - I guess this is a low hanging fruit to give Dominators something new from reusing the Blaster Manipulation set in the previous Page. Symphony Control - Why the segregation between Sonic and Symphony? I don't believe it's wise to make such a classification when the community has been posting requests to just add musical notes FX to Sonic Blast. Granted that it's the first for a sound based control which is a plus, making a future Sonic Control feels like a waste of dev hours. It's like adding a Stone Control when there is already an Earth Control set. Sonic Blast Changes - Again why was the complicated -res stacking added? I understand the original Live justification that the -res was holding back on the set's damage for balance but couldn't a simpler solution be added instead? Keep the original Res but reducing the cast times and adding a bit more damage to even out the DPA? Weapon Sheathing and Customization - Yes, this is a huge plus and time/effort well spent. Its customization additions like this that keep the community engaged when they have options to realize their concepts in game. AE Changes - Well, the thread speaks for itself; you have a lot of people against it. Attack Type Changes - Again, this was not asked for. Things that have been appearing in Suggestion Forums: Mind Control Buffs Mastermind QOL Changes - Pet Level same as MM level, TP to Me button, Mercenary and Necromancy Buffs Empathy, Force Field and even Sonic Resonance Buffs NPC Costume Pieces There's an entire thread of reusable powersets. Just my 2 cents.

  9. +1 to this. I don't think the devs should look at changing how players should play in Homecoming. If anything, the game works no? If not why would people come back to a 10+ year old game? We could definitely use more of the shiny new stuff though.
  10. You're not paying for the subscription (oh hey there's none for HC) of those people that choose to play that way. By abusive, are you referring to the repetitive fast gain of exp? People have been doing that before AE - are you referring to the 3XP?
  11. So at the end of the day, you can farm all the vet levels you want in PI Radios/Tina Arc/Dev Arcs etc but you just can't do it in the AE? LOL I fail to see the logic here, you're essentially moving the people from AE to some other more non-descript location? It won't solve the people begging for farms, it won't stop farm babies with no idea on slots/powers. Yeah, alternative content to farming vet levels - the new incarnate missions? What's the difference, people will still be running the same fast content.
  12. Pardon my choice of words but City of Heroes is essentially a "dead" game running on private servers supported by volunteer efforts. People come back to CoH and by extension Homecoming for nostalgia and general love for the game itself. There's no leaderboard or Pay 2 Win or whatever incentives in current MMOs or games that would make powerleveling reduce the effort/time invested of other people who don't partake in AE farming post 50. This change feels like it only serves to alienate people who just enjoy AE farming and force them to leave - in my opinion, there is no benefit in this to people who play TFs/Story Arcs. It just feels punitive to people who enjoy AE Farming in a game that people play for general enjoyment and nostalgia.

  16. 1) The pet is listed as <Earth Control> 2) The sounds for the powers seem a bit on the loud side? Not sure if it's just me but I only have my ingame sound volume at 3%
  17. Just a idea to move alignment powers to P2W vendors so that characters can pick and choose whichever alignment power they would like. Limit to one power selected per character. This removes the 7 day waiting time and gives us more freedom to choose, since alignment is useless and just for flavour in this server anyways.
  18. Is the relentless difficulty on Aeon Strike Force something that triggers the flow state for you? Is it tough enough for you to enjoy it as a challenge to overcome? For me, it felt as more of a timesink when enemies have more +def so things take longer. AVs fights feel way more slow to the point I get bored mashing my power buttons. not to mention the cheesy autohit -res fields and mez protection. At the end it felt more like a “phew its finally over” rather than “ We did it!” Any thoughts? Would love to hear if you guys run it for the fun or just to test your high end builds or do you guys find it a bit tedious?

  22. I have tried Storm Summoning on Controllers and on a Corruptor. But it really does seem like the Controller pairings (those with immob powers at least) is more efficient. It's a shame because Ice Blast or Water Blast pairings with Storm Summoning are thematic but not that good because of the mob scattering. It feels kinda guilty playing a Water/Storm corruptor on a team and making the enemies scatter away from the tank/team.
  23. The -fear status effect in Tornado and Lightning Storm causes mobs to run all over the place. This is extremely annoying when playing Storm Summoning on an AT without immob or playing on a team without a Tank/Brute. Even then the taunt aura isn't fool proof and mobs still scatter. Is the -fear status effect meant to keep Storm Summoning from being top tier? If so, what would be the negative impact if the -fear status effect was removed from Tornado and Lightning Storm?
