  1. I think the change as is then is the only real way to have a middle ground solution to the third spender for everyone.
  2. 😞 Is there any reason why they can't pick between T1/T2 right from the start? I never quite understood the reasoning behind locking it on any AT for primary/secondary other than trying to save a power choice for leveling from ye-olden coh
  3. won't this just force tankers who do want it to have to take BA AND EP? Usually, T1/T2 is a one or the other choice, not both. This is primarily why i don't like it in T1/T2 in any AT. Solve one problem by creating another. While before BS was just a "Use the power better", We've created forcing people to take barrage.
  4. Not sure how much i like this change for scrappers, for the smallest baby reason on the planet. I generally don't take barrage 😛 However, I can adapt because set still good. RIP energy punch, you had a good run. 2004 - 2020 Also Cottage rule was a rule of thumb by one developer who himself was willing to break it if it would benefit the set, let's not hold people to a thing one guy said once a decade ago unless Bonesmasher literally starts building cottages folks. it wasn't even positron or statesmans rule either, and they had more power.
  5. I like both, one for nostalgia and one because its chunky. I could live either way TBH
  6. i really like the idea of increasing the stuns a bit along side shortening them overall. As far as a true identity for EM goes, stunning things is pretty high on the list. So even if it's just for a short duration, higher chances at stuns across the set feels right to me.
  7. Ok let me rephrase, downtime i dont* personally think is bothersome or noticeable enough to think is a problem. Also while I'm @'ing you and you'd probably know the math better than me, with capped recharge and burnout and a little bit of luck, could you hit four fast ET's on a scrapper in one BU window?
  8. This is about where I'm at with it and as i said above, not even really slotting for recharge specifically. note; I do have 2 purple sets and 3 lotgs. I'm a EM/Rad brute. So in combat, It's even shorter 😛 I go from TF>ET>EP>ET without downtime. Obviously SO gameplay does not apply here.
  9. ET recharges so quickly all you honestly need to do is use whirling hands or barrage or EP or maybe an epic or power pool ability or incarnate. Literally anything else for 4 seconds and then you get a second fast ET. Are you saying 4 seconds and 1 ability that could be a lot of things is too restricting? We've already established you can hit 3 fast ET's in 1 BU cycle. if you're the big sweaty.
  10. That rotation would be specifically for Crits, if you're looking to maximize your DPS as you stated. the system there or not, optimal rotation exists and will never change. If you didn't get a crit, it could easily be BU>TF>ET>BS or BU>EP>TF>ET>BS or any combination there of. It's not set and does give you breathing room. If you want to talk about un-optimal rotations that's a different story, because at that rate, it means you don't care if your DPS is maximized or not and such things like EF wouldn't really matter anyway. You could create a maximum DPS rotations on any set, mechanic or otherwise. Not gonna lie, theres a lot of times where even on sets with gimmicks when doing brain-dead content i just mash buttons regardless because everything is dying instant anyway.
  11. I get that, but you have more than those abilities. It may not literally be the most optimal amount of damage but you could use Energy Punch / Whirling hands then ET would likely be up on a build that optimal rotation would even matter on. On a build where recharge wasn't even my focus, my ET is recharging in about 4 seconds, That's not really much of a wait for such a strong ability and for it to be instant. If you drop down to the SO level, "optimal rotation" honestly doesn't matter if we're being real. Actually i take it back, it -is- the optimal amount of damage. Wanting to have TWO fast ET's one after another is kind of a silly ask and yet they've still provided a way to do that within 4 seconds. Edit2; to comment on your edit, If you did BU>BS> TF>ET>WH>EP>ET>TF>EP >ET>BS you've got two fast ET's and two BS used.
  12. I never actually looked at it that way before. I thought the entire intention behind the crit thing was to encourage fast ET and then one of the other two, not two fast ET's If thats what people are saying, I don't support that idea at all
  13. Not even with the -regen? I could see trying to maintain the -regen on specific enemies being decently useful.
  14. I personally like it in Bone Smasher, I think It's easily avoided if you have EF but don't want to use it on BS. one last question though @Captain Powerhouse If it was moved from TF to BU the 100% EF, would that cause an issue? (side note, i also like it in TF)
  15. So it -could- be moved into the other two powers without much of a balancing issue? That might be worth exploring then Edit: To people thinking he corrected me with malice, you're insane and pretty dumb. Clarifying a development position is not insulting in the least. Stop.
  16. Powerhouse addressed this already, he tried his best without the use of mechanics first.
  17. Well again, if you tie it into barrage you've now made people take it if they want that mechanic and if they don't, you've now taken away a prong of the mechanic by an easily skipped power. So with the idea that an easy-skip power has taken away part of the mechanic, you'll need to re-eval how strong PC and ET are. If you put it in both, you maintain the mechanic being there 100% of the time and keep the balance. I don't really get the BS complaint in the first place, ET recharges faster than TF so it'll always surely be up. Using EF on BS is a player error and not a mechanical failure. You can't accidentally build EF atm so I don't see how you could accidentally spend it @Taboo test it before judging it so harshly lol , It's possible you still won't like it but more than 1 mind got changed already 😛
  18. Honestly it's both since it fits both lol TF is a builder, 3 powers are the spender. I think calling it a combo system is misleading though, since it doesn't A>B>C>D it's A>B. Since DB/STJ/Staff are a hard combo system while Energy Focus is a lot less taxing than that. IMO either work tho
  19. Mainly for balance reasons. The combo having 3 choices is the primary goal of the balance. Bone smasher is usually taken, It's in large an ability rarely skipped. If you force an extra layer on top of this already existing balance, you're now throwing that out of whack.
  20. I'm agreeing with you in part, I just think if you do it to barrage you also need to do it to Energy Punch. the way most people take these powers it's either EP or BA not both. Tanks are forced into it but also usually avoid EP. With how EF works, you can't do it twice in a row (unless theres a crit on scrappers) so it wouldn't be an issue to overlap.
  21. I mean for other non-tanks, if it's -only- in barrage you'd have to take barrage as the other sets. I edited my other post but not quick enough it seems lol If they moved it to both EP/BA i could see that being ok because tanks who -have- to take barrage aren't missing out and people who choose EP instead aren't missing out.
  22. I think the primary issue is forcing people to take barrage. I think this is actually why they avoided doing anything to the T1/T2 individually. I could see them doing it to both though, even if you took both you'd still only get to use one.
  23. 100% did not take it haha, It's not really needed at lower levels if we're being honest and it helps with endurance management to spec into it later, still clearing missions really quick with just my primary attacks. I view that as early game power picking and not so much an issue with either sets. I usually won't run things like tough/weave and stuff unless the mob is particularly big or it's a boss. I've never felt i needed to in early game unless i was pushing the difficulty slider higher than it should be for my level. I could see how if you're running all that stuff your end would be miserable though.
  24. I'd love for it to be moved to BU, but i don't think they would without nerfing its BU a bit, which i don't think would be worth the trade off honestly, considering how easy it is to manage right now. As you said, pretty small complaints in the grand scheme of things as-is but always good to explore 😛
  25. Are you suggesting things that use EF have a chance not to? I might have misread. I'm into the idea of adding onto how and where EF procs. I still think the best way to be to make all non EF powers have a chance to proc it so throw WH in there with TF remaining a instant. Even if it's a smaller chance to preserve balance because lets be honest, EF all the time would be insane. This is largely an opinion, I respect your right to have one and your voice has been heard and acknowledged by powerhouse already about why this set is receiving a mechanic. At this point, I think it's more worth working ways to make EF be its best than it is to try and fight it. I don't feel adding EF takes away from EM but instead adds to it (As you're very aware) so trying to make it flow its best and feel its best for everyone involved is the priority for me as opposed to considering ways without it since power house has already said he did so extensively and wasn't into the results. I don't mind slower ET and never have, It's probably also why I don't mind missing fast ET on occasion depending on the situation. If i need more AoE, a slower ST does not change that fact for me. If it was as easy as buffing ET and buffing its AoE I'm sure he would have.
