  1. 90% if the issues with the market would go away if it were impossible to flip items. And to the flippers in here, there are easier and more productive ways to make Inf off the market than flipping.
  2. Isn't there an option in the costume editor to eliminate redraw?
  3. Certainly not that. He's taking recipes and salvage, adding some inf and getting a product worth more than the combined value of his components. This is how wealth is generated in real economies. Real economies are not a zero sum game. Flipping is buying an item low and reslisting it for a higher price. There's no value added and it fuels inflation.
  4. I havae a fire farmer. I find farming boring. Farming makes roughly 20 million inf/hr plus drops I can make about 30 million inf/hr (give or take) just running the WST, and I'll be having a lot more fun doing it. So IMO farming is balanced.
  5. And I've encountered clipping on HC as well. Had to spend quite a while finding a work around for the last costume I was making. I guess it's just a question of how much clipping is too much. And that's going to be an individual preference. I too would love to see Guardians over here but I doubt that's going to happen any time soon.
  6. Well, your name checks out, I'll say that. All smart alec'ness aside, I have checked out Thunderspy a while back and don't disagree with you. I haven't taken the time to check out Rebirth because I just don't have the time. I'm sorry to hear their QC is lacking.
  7. A zipper on the trunk? My trunk only has latches. 😞
  8. You left off the "...as much as Thunderspy or Rebirth". Yes, HC innovates, but they like to keep their/our servers more stable and bug free, so they proceed more cautiously, i.e. slowly.
  9. See my previous post for some of the things that have been done here on HC. Having said that, let me be very clear about my next statement: I'm not trying to drive you away. BUT you might check out Rebirth. They've done a lot with costumes and I think they have a couple of ATs that aren't part of the lineup here on HC. I've wanted to pop over there and check it out myself, but barely have enough hours in the day to sign onto HC regularly. The HC team doesn't "innovate" (for lack of a better word) as much as say Thunderspy or Rebirth, but the servers have far fewer bugs.
  10. And so far you folks have done some really cool things, SBB, Market Crash, those new arcs in Kings Row, etc. Also, the new IO sets have been noticed and appreciated, at least by me. 😄
  11. My personal opinion: As a Dominator your Leadership numbers aren't that good. I don't know how many powers you have in Leadership but if it's only Maneuvers drop it and keep CJ. Like you, I love the extra maneuverability from CJ, it doesn't take much End, and you can slot some nice procs in it (LotG, Shield Wall, Kismet, etc). The only real downside to dumping Leadership is if you regularly team with other folks who took it. But solo or on a PUG? Your defense is control. Play to your strengths.
  12. My condolences for your End bar. I have one of those (Fire/Earth Dom) and even with PermaDom and Ageless it's not enough.
  13. To me the fun isn't in the powersets, it's in the concept. So I usually generate the idea first, and then pick the powersets to go with it. Having said that, my ILL/Storm is one of my favs, and I keep the chaos well under control until I go into full panic mode. Tankers don't hate me. 😄
  14. One reason I don't normally play melee ATs is that I don't like chasing my food. Fold Space means I call in for delivery.
  15. You've known me for much longer than I've been on HC, Flea. That was not directed at you. Please accept my apologies if you honestly think it was. The context of my comment was that the people who put the downvotes but no reason for the downvotes were stifling the conversation rather than engaging in it. Given the quality of the replies from the one downvoter, I guess they truly did not have anything to say. Makes me wonder why people on a discussion board don't want to have a discussion though.
  16. How is it only my problem that people are artificially inflating the market? It seems to me that activity affects everyone who uses the market. And I am indeed here for a discussion. I have posted an idea, been given a non-verbal response saying it's a bad idea, so I asked WHY it's a bad idea. No one has yet bothered to respond to me. I can defend my position, yet it seems that people with an opposing position are unable to defend theirs. So far you have conflated adding value and relisting with the value increased as flipping, despite flipping (aka scalping and arbitration) being defined not once or by only one person, but at least 3 times by no fewer than 2 people. Given that you have taken the field, failed to actually address the issue at hand, and now wish to retire, I can only think that you do not have a valid argument to make either for or against flipping, or against any detail of the idea I have presented. You obviously have a position, given that you awarded me negative fake internet points, yet you have declined to state your position. Since you lack the intestinal fortitude to state your position, and don't like speculation, everyone else can decide where you stand for themselves.
  17. Ad hominems do NOT make you a winner IRL or on the Internet. Try again. If you want to have a discussion, tell me WHY my idea is bad. And if you don't want to have a discussion, don't reply to me.
  18. You and I are on the same page up to this point.
  19. It doesn't restrict supply because they were already on the market. If it's not possibly to flip them for a decent profit in a timely fashion, they won't be taken off the market by the flipper. If you're buying a recipe and crafting it to sell, that's NOT flipping. You've added value to the item, and to the market.
  20. And that's yet another reason that flipping irritates me. Inf is easy to come by without messing up the market.
  21. No, it's not bait. I'm here for a discussion and exchange of ideas. People downvoting an idea with no comment does not further the discussion, and leaves me with precisely the opinions I stated above. I have no natural filter, I've learned to have enough filter to keep from being banned. But life is too short to play word games. If you don't want to have a discussion then don't have one. Don't hide behind an emote if you have something you want to say. Edit: Buying IOs and converting them into something better is NOT flipping. You have put work into the produce to make it more valuable. This is good for the market and you've well earned the funds you're going to reap from the increased price. Flipping is buying something at a low price and immediately reselling it for a higher price. Also known as scalping and arbitrage, both of which are illegal IRL.
  22. I see a some people giving me a thumbs down for my ideas on stopping flipping. Given that they haven't replied to me I can only assume that either they lack the imagination to come up with ideas of their own, or they make their living in CoH by flipping.
  23. I'll disagree. The only KB powers I don't like are the ones that do radial or otherwise uncontrolled KB, e.g. Bonfire, Tornado, Wormhole, etc. Note that Hurricane is an exception to this. KB is a very, very powerful control. It allows you to position mobs where you want them. It just requires some forethought about where and when to use it. Given that Storm is about location, location, location, that shouldn't be an issue. For example, note that I did not include Lightning Storm in the list of radial KB powers, because it's not. You hover up 10' or so and voila, it's KD, not KB. Or place it so that it knocks the mobs into a wall.
