  1. Oh puh-LEEZE! Hurricane received 4 major nerfs before Lunge (I know, Spines not Regen, but still) had its range reduced to something reasonable for a melee. And that's just one example of how much the original devs hate anything that's NOT a melee related power (including armors).
  2. Try this /macro AH "beginchat /ah" And see what you get.
  3. Here's my personal story. Pre Sunset I never bothered with Set IOs. They were too expensive and too much of a time sink to bother with. The market was not a useful tool for players, it was simply another form of PvP and I was there to play City of Supers, not City of Day traders. Post Sunset I was invited to the SCoRE server. Like many others I had to start pretty much from scratch (remember, no huge stockpile of Inf from Live for me), but the community was tighter knit and changes to the market made it into a more useful tool. I ended up being able to IO out every alt I had with whatever build I wanted. My small SG base still has bins full of IOs. Then my Windows drive crashed and I only had a Linux partition on my laptop for some years. I was too busy to try and get CoH running on Linux. I installed a 2nd HDD but never could get the laptop to recognize it. Eventually I got a refurb Windows box for other purposes, but it runs City so I'm back. I have to say I was discouraged by having to start over yet again, but I was glad to be back playing City with friends. Friends gifted me around 300-400 million total and I got a farmer partially outfitted but still couldn't solo a +4x8 fire farm. I looked into marketing and found a post by Shinobu about crafting and converting, and got his build further along. I still didn't want to do the crafting and converting, I'd rather play City of Heroes in my limited spare time. Then an SG mate made up some spurious reason to gift me 1 billion inf for my spouse and me. That made all the difference. I finished my farmer (I only farm 2 - 3 times a week, I prefer teaming), and I found out that special salvage sells well on the market and you buy it with Merits. It's slower than craft & convert but it doesn't eat up my play time either. So this gift jumpstarted the game for my spouse and me, and seriously increased my enjoyment of it. I'm currently playing less due to RL demands rather than a lack of enjoyment in the game. Sorry this was long, but I wanted you to have the full story from someone who'd received an exorbitant gift.
  4. Did you get out thru a hole in the geometry, or is there a door somewhere that lets you out?
  5. @ZorkNemesis Dark Control/Elec Affinity 'troller can have 3 pets w/o a Patron pool.
  6. I found 2 buildings like this in AP. What exactly do we have here, 4 ledges for heroes to brood over the city? Interesting thing is that the "stairs" work. You click the door and you're back at ground level. The door at the bottom works too. You should be able to find this easily from the landmarks in the screenshot. The other one can be seen from this one.
  7. If you make both of the buff bots MMs you can have your bots (not the best damage but phenomenal -Res) and replace the Thugs with Beasts (the best damage). Take your Beast MM to Null and have them reject Group Fly.
  8. If I create a bio I'm more likely to play the character. They're more fleshed out, less 1 dimensional to me. If I'm going to create a bio it's usually at character creation, but sometimes I find I'm enjoying playing a character so much that a backstory just grows in my mind and then I type it in.
  9. I wasn't able to make it, but I would love to read an after action report when you get the chance.
  10. After reading the table I was going to post exactly this ^^^
  11. @SuperSayianRenan Does Combat Jumping count as a travel power? Tested it myself in Ouro, it does not.
  12. No, it's more like "Whatever you subsidese you get more of."
  13. My probability of repeatedly playing and enjoying a character are directly related to whether or not I've written a bio. I don't do RP, but generally speaking I need more of a concept than just powers and costume to continue coming back to the same character. Conversely, if I keep playing a character without a bio, or with a very minimal bio, I'll probably end up writing or adding to the current bio.
  14. NM, I figured it out. I was in the costume creator yesterday and this bio came to me while I was making the character. Edit: 1033 total characters out of 1024 available. So how big is this field really? And yes, I see the duplicate "ThisThis" and have corrected it. The count is after the correction.
  15. Oh, I Like that idea! Save and load powertrays would resolve the goulash you get back from the respec!
  16. I know it's stop the Paladin from getting built, but how do I know when it's being built? Is there Hero Event text for it?
  17. @Wavicle You are correct sir or ma'am. I didn't recall seeing Damage components on any other End Mod IOs, but a second glance show that there are 4 Damage IOs on Power Transfer, but one of them also has an End Mod component. Still wish they'd put EndMod on one of the Damage IOs, probably the Damage Recharge.
  18. One thing I'm nostalgic about is the TP chains my coalition used to do. Pretty much everyone would take Recall. When it was time to head to the next mish, often in another zone, one person would race to the tunnel thru the warwall, and Recall someone directly into zoning. That person would rush to the next tunnel and when Person #! Recalleded the next "victim" into the tunnel, Person #2 would Recall them directly into the next zone. Repeat ad nauseum until the entire team was at the next mish. The one thing I really miss is the original dialogs between the Desperate Guy and the Turndown Girl in Pocket D. There were some truly epic burns in there.
  19. I'm far more likely to enjoy playing a character if I have a bio written. Some I've enjoyed playing so I've written a bio for them. Since you seem to enjoy the bios, I'll try to remember to grab some screenies for ya.
  20. If Synapse's Shock were an Accurate End Mod set, this would be understandable. It's not, it's an End Mod set. You slot it in Stamina, or Energizing Circuit, or Lifegiving Spores, etc. There are Accurate End Mod sets for various Electric Blast/Melee powers.
  21. @Outrider_01 Maybe I didn't explain this well. Synapse's Shock is an End Mod set. None of the enhancement in it should have a Damage component. None of the Enhancements in it should have an Accuracy component. Yet three (half the set) have no End Mod component to the IO, and have a Damage Component. Of those 2 of them have an Accuracy component. Why do they need Accuracy if they are used on friendlies instead of foes? That's the core of my beef with this set. I wish to 5 slot them in Energizing Circuit, not only for the set bonus but to improve the power. Synapse's Shock is NOT an Accurate End Mod set, it is an End Mod set.
  22. This set isn't Accurate End Mod, it's just End Mod. Yet three of the IOs in the set have Damage, and of those three, two of them have Accuracy. That's half the set that gives no, or minimal, benefit to the power it's slotted in. Can we please get this fixed? Edit: I can see leaving the Accuracy component in, and maybe the Damage, for use in some blast sets, but I'll say again, this isn't an Accurate End Mod set, it's listed as End Mod. I'd really like to see End Mod on every IO, with the possible exception of the ever present EndRdx/Recharge that most sets get and, of course, the proc (though this proc already has EndMod).
  23. I have a Beast MM who's a ringmaster type character. I'd love to have the whip as my weapon choice instead of BEES! or birds or whatever. But I'm also the person who wants an insect MM with a 6' tall Preying Mantis for the T3
