  1. This was covered in the (original?) CoH comics that talked about mmm Apex?'s home life where he was just chilling at times, not just heroing.

    claws/rad

So it seems claws is actually quite high performing... My silly question is, with limited set io slotting, how does claws do so much damage? spin spin spin?

    Crosspunch question

I have seen this come up a few times. I know that in martial arts, boxing and crosspunch can be kitted out to do a pretty good amount of damage as filler over your actual MA attacks on a scrapper. Do crosspunch/boxing (with the trifecta boxing/kick/xpunch) do more damage than some secondaries on tanks? If so, which, and why? I know that on aoe light secondaries, xpunch is great for filling that gap. Thanks!

    New Tank

Dang, thats a whole lot of res to make up for with slotting to get the same mileage. 😞 Thank you!

    New Tank

This was the question. How much is the bonus.

    New Tank

How much of a bonus do you get with tank res numbers over brute numbers? I see that I get et and tf from energy melee at 35 and 38, which is basically 100% late game build. 😐 I have no real need of the capstone or powersink from elec armor.
  7. This is all very true. I really enjoyed my "huntswoman". But they are not, in any way, flashy. Maybe crabs? but banes, not flashy. widows, not flashy (I cant even see the darts I throw!!!). The weird psychic widows? Maaaaybe a little flashy. If you are looking for solid in everything though, they are fantastic at that. They are like the ultimate corkscrew. Gets the cork out of any problem!
  8. I did obliquely in the new tank thread. 🙂 I don't like rad melee (same complaints about devastating blow as above), but hold high hopes one day energy melee will be moar cool.

    New Tank

I see elec/ is missing. That is kind of sad 😕 That is without any incarnates at all, and 1 power completely unslotted (melee, with 5 slots assigned to it). For reference, this is elec/energy melee tank, again with zero incarnates. edit:yeah tanks dont do scrapper/blaster/brute levels of damage, but they arent incompetent either
  10. interesting. i am kind of at the same place. i can get more mileage for toughness, flexibility for the same inf, but across several alts (partial or frankenslotting). I really love how much smackdown my mace/bio scrapper does, but yeah, i dunno. outside of a team, i do feel really squishy, and chunks of what i have to do to next-level the char really needs some significant investment. 😕
  11. Look no further than the name of the expansion, Going Rogue, and the VERY clear indication of emphasis on shades of morality with the introduction of vigilantes and rogues, and the whole original align change process. edit: play vig/rog tips for substantial assertion of this statement. Like, _all_ the vig/rog tips, and their morality mishs. edit edit: yeah, your 11th mish is _morality_.
  12. Probably a few things. Off gets you +tohit, you get -res, and +dam. That is a lot of bits that help focus fire on hard targets. When you start popping different clickies, that adds on to the badness for your target.
  13. I would rather 5 slot experienced marksman in moonbeam (perma-fastsnipe), and slotting for +tohit. At 22.5~ tohit, (a chunk of which you can get in offensive mode), you get _full damage_ on your fast snipe (which is perma with the marksman proc io), instead of a degraded value. On top of that, moar tohit means your wonky bio powers that like to hit things (PA, siphon) are firing at high function due to the greater chance of, you know, hitting stuff. 🙂
  14. Hmm, interesting! Here is my take that I am trying to slot out. You have ~100 more rech, but I have a vastly different profile for defenses, regen, recov (I set siphon to 1 target to match siphon in your build). The only thing I have on is offensive mode. You may want to look at your build with offensive mode toggled (if that is how you roll :D), as it will significantly change your actual final stats for resists et al. I have pretty high end costs, but that comes at different levels with varying support from parasitic aura. When I turn agility core paragon on, things get a little... crazy. 😄 (edit: im running two end +heal procs, which are pretty handy) (without core paragon) Both pastes are in offensive mode. http://www.cohplanner.com/mids/download.php?uc=1511&c=724&a=1448&f=HEX&dc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
  15. Theres been a billion posts since my comment, but here are my thoughts: I loved red side. I played red side exclusively from the day it launched until right around the whole praetorian thing. Here is my breakdown on redside, having been for a LOT of years 100% dedicated redside player: 1. Mish content was generally pretty good, accessible, and MOSTLY not smash-your-face hard. 2. The stories were great, the villains were great (some were a bit too villainy, mr westin...) Ghost Widow/whatshisface "love story" arc was amazing. I like TV. I like Radio. It was innovative and unique 3. Travel in the zones by and large SUCKED. Travel in Mercy was HORRIBLE (as a noob). Travel in Grandville is still gack. Travel in the one with the islands way up north with Caleb is ALSO horrible (unless flight on auto for several minutes is your thing). 4. Generally, things were much harder as a villain content wise, than wussy blue side kill freaks/council/whatever you get at low-mid levels. With redside you get : arachnos (the noob arachnos are still tough), legacy chain, wyvernwhatevers, longbow. That is a whole lot of not fun. 5. Redside ATs were largely solo friendly to various degrees (considering their power sets, at functions, and layered capabilities), which meant you had more people on solo or small teams than large crazy blueside teams, cause hey, it just worked. 6. The redside market sucked because it was redside specific, and you didnt have it pumped full of blueside stuff. This lead to a lot of difficulty building chars 😕 As a modern player, I only hit redside for the respec taskforces, MAYBE an occasional regular tf, and for my patron. Items #3 and #4 are what prevent me from playing anything level 1 up there. I like company, being a very social player. I am not disparaging any new redside content. I really want to see it happen. I just struggle to enjoy content there, when its hard to find bodies to group with. Anything that could be done to boost redside population, either as vigilantes or rogues or straight villains I would totally participate in. I really want to see redside thrive, but most of the items above are what burnt me out on it, and I have a feeling maybe other old redside-preferring players.
  16. What does the build look like?
  17. Devs hate red side.
  18. In my opinion, as elec affinity, you should be in melee _at all times_. Your _team_ anti-mez + huge dam resist bubble is centered around you. If you are sitting way out worried about getting chains effects, you are certainly doing your team (and self really) a disservice. Being in melee means you almost always get hit by your chains, everyone loves you because of your anti-mez prot + resist all the things, lots of chain love, and yet more chain love. Slotting for defense at range just means that hey, you are generally less useful to the team as a whole. In fact, unless you primarily solo, I would not at all recommend using the pet. It is a waste of a power pick on any team-centric build. If you have pets available at low level, like dark control, it is extra extra extra useless.
  19. 4.9 days to complete a workunit. Sob. Ok, that dropped to 2.3 days.
