  1. For a defender/support character, just run through one, and i mean just 1, BAD BOSS? ae arc solo at any level. Make sure you have the sands of mu temp power, as well as one of the sticks (wand, nem staff) for extra damage alongside your level 1 noob power plus level 1 attack. Play for tickets! This is important. Get out, and roll 15-19 bronze recipes for rewards. You can get a lot. Either craft and sell, or just sell the recipes (recipes get you a lot less money). Depending on what you get, you can easily score millions of inf for 10, 12 minutes worth of playtime. It is kinda boring, but the point is to jumpstart your inf generation. edit: i am generally the most broke marketeer out there, because i market across a bunch of chars but have major time limitations and am a terribad altoholic. Despite this, I have little problem getting all the nifty procs that can really help out an otherwise lacklustre build on all generics zing a bit. 😄 Once you have your few mil nest egg, you can market for ~5-10 minutes a day and slowly get all the inf you need, while actually playing the game for merits, badges, and whatever other things you find fun. 🙂 The best part about the BADS missions is that pegged at level 1, everyone, no matter how weak, can get roughly the same amount of rewards ticket-wise in ~the same amount of time.
  2. I guess my only real topical comment on this from a practical POV is a dislike of people asking what at/level you are before they invite you (keep in mind the LFM was just posted in LFG without conditionals), or when you send tells to people who are LFM with a comment (I would like to join, can you wait a minute or two?) and get radio silence, while they continue to try to find more bodies... Kind of sucks. If I am LFM, I dont care if you are driving around on your grannies 'lectric wheelchair, I am LFM and you can join. No conditions. Well, other than dont be an somesomehat.

So, this comes down to not leveraging disintegration. Fast snipe can cause disintegration to spread very effectively. Not all powers trigger it equally, but tinkering with it can cause you to spread disintegration like a mad fool, generating a lot of AOE that isn't readily apparent by the lack of obvious aoe buttons to push. It just takes some work, which some people may not want to do, in favor of ez button pushes, which are also great. 🙂
  4. So, most people I know (all?) just run Bio armor in offensive mode 24x7. Leveling up, maybe switching around. But staff doesnt seem like it does a lot of damage; is there some sort of hidden tweak you can do to get more umf out of the set? Like, armor pairings or the like? Do you generally single-stance like Bio?
  5. You know, I do recall the nerf. It was pretty clear that scrappers were merely strong, and not pretty. And everyone knows a "pretty" thug is not taken seriously. So they made them pink with flowers using peace signs for weapons riding unicorns, just to ensure they were pretty enough to ensure they were not taken seriously. I have to say, my wm/bio/moonbeam scrapper agrees, she is definitely too pretty do hurt things.
  6. The fastest farm clearing farming whateverness is the one where YOU are least aware of the time, i.e., having the most fun. A 10 hour mish may feel like a 2 hour mish if you are having a blast with your char, and that same mish feel like 5 hours on a char you are MEH about. That is a cost savings of 3 hours! Moral of the story: the more fun you have, the faster things seem to go. The more you are MEH or dislike something, the longer something takes. Thus, "time flies when you are having fun".
  7. 5 posts in and the OP is already starting trouble. Get Werner a banana, man is right on the money!
  8. I slot whatever I get from random rare converts and then in set that meet build requirements. (assuming i have time to do either).
  9. For me, it has to do with how well they do on generic IOs. I guess the exception might be my ma/shield/mu scrapper at the moment, but im kinda close to giving up on him too. I found that when I do level 20 exemp content (so up to what, 24 powers?) I only have 3 attacks. It was sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooow, especially without set bonuses, and frankly I don't generally have time to marketeer and play at the same time. Oh, and incarnate. 😐
  10. Pvp for me is, and only is, recluses victory running around randomly whacking on people, capturing cataphracts, the spiders, and the base points. Nothing else engages in a sort of pvp/pve way that I like, and without the heavy muscle from the click pets, I will never have a straight up pvp io'd build to compete, and would not want to anyway.
  11. You should track inf. Inf per kill goes up each level. You can't even afford DOs really from 1-20, let alone SOs. You HAVE to sell to vendors, you HAVE to auction. If you want to wait till 50 when you make what, 5-50 THOUSAND inf per kill, you can do that. But at lower levels, you really have to market and sell garbage to vendors. edit: You should not be buying SO enhs at level 23, but generic IOs, which to be honest you should craft yourself for a much cheaper cost. They don't expire, are a bargain deal when you craft yourself, and are equally as good as SO enhs.
  12. In general, moonbeam does a lot of damage on scrappers. There is the marksman proc that makes snipe ALWAYS instasnipe. As such, with the proc and the min tohit for max damage, you get slow snipe damage for "free". It does stupid damage with its DPA and loooooow cast time, and you don't have to be in combat to use it, since its always yellow-ringed. 🙂
  13. If you don't have a source of +tohit outside of blinding feint, you cant really make maximum use of moonbeam, which requires +22.5% base tohit for an instantsnipe to do max damage before slotting. db/bio/tactics + kismet +tohit gets you where you need to be for max instasnipe damage. There really is no point in taking moonbeam without the min tohit required for max damage, unless you like slooooooooooooow animating snipes
  14. Hold right mouse button down and move your point of view around till you find one that works. I tend to be about 45 degrees up and off the plane from the char. Works great! Push end twice to back out distance and im cooking with gas!
  15. Sorry, but this post lacks its validating meme, animated gif, or all around general feel good pic. Slacker! 🙂
  16. Tough is pretty significant +s/l resist, and weave isnt too bad on defense. If nothing else, I would take both to slot with procs as mentioned elsewhere, or use it to shore up defenses. An example is tough and weave on an elec affin fender, that can get veeeeery significant resists (cap s/l/en with little effort), using weave to throw defense at the problem as a bonus. It really is just situational, but the power of the big procs is pretty crazy. Maybe you take weave just for the luck of the gambler +rech proc for example.
  17. This screams of "running with an xp booster". Per the tin can, you get ZERO inf while it is active. If you want to have money for generic ios while running an xp booster, you have to sell everything you get for base inf, and then play market games. 🙂

  19. So, some context. I3? I2? I was farming. With a fire/axe tank. Dumpster diving in Creys Folly herding _the entire map_ (ah, those were the REAL herding days...). Why? It was efficient, and people didnt want to play the same levels to get stamina over and over and over and over again. From there, fire demon portals. Before either of those, "farming" level 20ish force field generators in IP to mass level noobs with zero threat. Again, to get that stamina baby! The seeds of farming and "that other play style" were sowed day one, when people came to feel that stamina was mandatory to run any sort of build (it really was, I cannot remember a single char I had back then without fitness pool), and it being level locked in the up-there levels. People did it just for level 14 travel powers as well. The game has a LOT to offer, but it comes with a lot of not-really-super leveling early on. Different people have different levels of appreciation for the game at given power levels. For some, it is being kinda- self sufficient when you hit SO enhs. That requires a bare minimum to slot 25 IOs or your first set of SOs. For others, the level of appreciation changes based on a given powerset/at combo, which may play more self-sufficient earlier or later. But the idea that people have not been doing this ("powerleveling") since practically day one is disingenuous to the maximum. I am sure even the OP has a certain point that they feel a given character begins to come together, and I am fairly certain it isn't level 10?

    Something New

I like the new pools. They are exciting and fun and have neat tricks. 🙂 I never liked sorcery, but the other two are great. 🙂
  21. Was going to multiquote but cant figure it out. What if you only have 40 minutes in any given play session anyway (not to dedicate to just 1 task like at tf)? Filthy casuals like to powerlevel because hey, they get more bang for their buck out of a given alt not struggling through levels in their Xmin limited playtime, due to other concerns like parenting (go covid at-home schooling!), general parenting, school, so on so forth. Not all filthy casuals getting powerleveled are absent play ability. Some are actually quite effective, they just look to maximize their limited play time.
