Just letting everyone know that we GMs are still watching this thread... Keep a lid on those spoilers! There's always a chance things will change or get dropped from the update, so, we don't want to tease things that might not even make it to Live. I was gonna make some cheeky comments with some hinty-semi-spoilery stuff, but, I decided against it. Sorry! But I will say that work on Page 4 is coming along nicely. Sadly, I don't have a time-frame for ETA to Open Beta. I would guess that we'll have something for you all sooner rather than later, but that's all it would be, a guess.

Power Surge (Electric Armor): Purpose/effect of hold enhancement sets ?
GM Impervium replied to MrZork's topic in Archetypes
Yeah, we do prefer questions about powers going in either the archetype forum, or the respective archetype subforum. So, moved 😃 As for the other threads you may have found while searching, well, those were from a while ago, and we try not to move too many older threads around if we don't have to.- 4 replies

Questions about scrapper characters should go into the Scrapper section; thanks 😃 (And also, topic moved)

While General might get "more views", you might not necessarily get the specific answers you're looking for, so I'll be moving this thread to the Excelsior section 😃

Possible to flip the salvage market?
GM Impervium replied to Outrider_01's topic in General Discussion
I may be misunderstanding, and if so, I apologize, but: This should not be the case. ALL Uncommon salvage is bucketed. That is to say, if you sell a Mutant Blood Sample, and I want a Sapphire, the game will sell me your Mutant Blood Sample and turn it into a Sapphire. So there should be no "This uncommon salvage going for 5k while another piece goes for 50k". Now, timing wise, yes, the prices can fluctuate wildly in the span of a given day, and sometimes the UI displays the wrong history. But individual pieces shouldn't have their own prices. -
What are your "ignore" habits and why?
GM Impervium replied to Tahliah's topic in General Discussion
*sigh* Look, we don't have a "No thread Necromancy" rule, but now it just looks like drama is getting stirred up again, so, locking it up. -
Moved thread to Help and Support. But @ZorkNemesis hit it on the head. If you're solo against it, you might not have reached the participation threshold.

What Can Be Done to Recruit Players?
GM Impervium replied to Apparition's topic in General Discussion
So, this sort of thing has come up before, but I'll reiterate our policy on this. Homecoming strives to be run as a professional game developer would be. ALL of our Devs/Contributors sign a release stating that anything they create belongs to Homecoming. This way, if there's ever a conflict of interest or whatnot, or someone leaves, we don't have to remove/undo any work they've done. I mean, imagine how upset people would be leveling up a badger, and suddenly they can't get the max badge number anymore because a former dev claimed copyright of their old work and we had to remove it? Or someone used newer costume pieces on their character that are just GONE one day? More pragmatically, stuff not made SPECIFICALLY for HC may not necessarily be compatible with our codebase. Or might not necessarily pass the high bar of quality we strive for, requiring more work on our end. This is just a hypothetical, I'm not taking a jab at anyone, or anything. The point is, it's not effortless to just plug-n-play. While this is a policy I clearly support, I will concede there are potential downsides. It deals a lot with hypotheticals and averting worse-case "what if" scenarios. It prevents us from dipping into the community well, so to speak. And the idea of signing away one's work may give potential devolpers pause before choosing to contribute. But overall, we feel the positives, and avoiding the potential negatives, outweigh the "actual" negatives. The policy we chose is aimed at keeping City of Heroes, and HC specifically, alive and in a good place. If it ever turns out that our policies contradict that ideal? Then we'd be forced to revisit them. But that's for Cipher and Jimmy and the rest to deal with. I'm just here to help the community 😃- 487 replies

This sort of thing has been suggested before, and afaik, it's on the Devs' radar. I don't know if/when it would actually be implemented, though. In the meantime, your best bet in this situation is to inform a troublesome player, out-of-character, to leave you alone, and that they are not welcome in your base. If they continue to bother you, then they are breaking the code of conduct, and THAT is actionable. Too many times people just ignore someone who's bothering them, then send in a ticket without confronting the other person. We can't do anything if the person isn't breaking any rules. But, once they've broken the "leave people alone when asked" rule? Then we can help.

Observations on multi page threads or the sandbox theorem

Player drops/quits. TF then loops the same mission.
GM Impervium replied to Without_Pause's topic in Bug Reports
This is a known issue, and a solution is being worked on. The work-around is just what @lemming said: Have the whole team log off (about 2 minutes works, just have to make sure EVERYONE is logged out at the same time), and back in. This also works for when someone can't activate the mission door to enter the mission. I'll be honest, I don't know why this stuff happens or why logging out resolves it. But, it does! -
Move thread to Bug Reports. I've independently verified that this is working, but that was after using GM commands to blitz through the TF, and waiting for Babbage to appear. I noticed that he seems to spawn on the bridge ABOVE where the mission is, and drops down. It could be that he's spawning and just running in a circle above you? In either case, we have gotten a lot of reports on this lately, so something else could be happening. Devs have been made aware, but without a surefire way to reproduce this occurrence, we'd just be guessing at a fix. If anyone has any further information on this issue, let us know!

AFAIK, all you need is the smallest generator. The power/control costs for all such objects that need(ed) them were either removed or significantly reduced from Live. Also, you can use the "noclip" command (I forget the exact phrasing) to phase things through walls so they're not taking up so much space. There's guides on the base subforum here that go into more detail on that sort of thing 😃

Sadly, when you have a "group", the AE will pull from that group semi-randomly to fill the player's difficulty needs. So if someone's playing at +0/x1, then all they're gonna see is 3 minions; LR et al won't spawn. And if you do force it, he'll probably just spawn as an EB with only 1 or 2 minions (and I mean minion-class critters, so it won't be GW and Mako next to him). FYI, the max mob size is 17, so you'd probably want 18+ critters to make sure you don't get duplicates. For instance, The "Comic Con" farm maps have nearly a HUNDRED different characters to make sure there's no duplication within the mobs!

Okay folks, time to simmer down a little! Some things were misinterpreted, no need to get nasty. On-topic, I feel compelled to share a little "hack" with you all, if you're interested in making alt accounts: If your primary log-in is linked to a gmail address, such as [email protected]. then you should be able to set up alt accounts by placing periods in "myname" (such as my.name or myna.me). Gmail should treat them all as the same e-mail address, as it actually ignores periods in in-coming mail! But our account handling system DOESN'T, so you could make three account all with one e-mail! Give it a try! @Ironblade already covered the multi boxing rules, so I see little need to repeat them here 😃
