  1. One of the most fun combos I have played (and I have ALOT of characters) is my Savage/Regen Brute. It was easily the easiest and fastest to level 1-50 (no 2xp involved) a true meat grinder with no Endurance issues at all. Does he faceplant sometimes? Yup, but that is the way of Regen.
  2. To each their own. I rather enjoy the low levels, and the high levels. It's Brickstown/Founders that really drag for me.
  3. Didn't you know, you are only allowed one character name. Any more than one and you are a name hoarder
  4. that boy is thick
  5. It is the Tech Knight belt using the Belt Cloth option
  6. But...but...she's not metallic?!?
  7. Rise my zombie minions, RISE!
  8. No worse than in American: Dude - Hey Dude? - Really? Dude! - Awesome! Dude!! - WTF?
  9. I'll be in my bunk
  10. I was thinking he meant Malcom Reynolds or Jayne Cobb to be honest.
  11. I have all the original boxes for my accounts somewhere in a box in the black hole that is my garage. Not much help, I know. But if you still are looking come Spring I will dig them out for you.
  12. I thought the same thing, then I googled it and the confusion faded away like the background to a .jpeg ...
  13. Likely because the posts are from over 3 years ago and Mids has changed considerably in the meantime
  14. Not everyone teams. I have close to 200 alts and I have never once run a DFB. I don't run TFs generally either and then only with characters that can reasonably solo the TF. I don't run double xp, nor do I level up by door sitting. Getting into the 20's takes some time, not a lot of time, but more than a few play sessions. Longer still for my Goldside characters (of which there are many) because of the time spent not earning xp at all. Not saying you are wrong for there are many ways to level up in the game. My point being, not everyone races to 50 (or 30, or 20), and not everyone has a team to carry them through the lower levels. I've tried slotting some low level sets but usually use SOs until level 22 (with the usual uniques thrown in when available). I can generally deal without full sets at lower levels but options are always nice to have.
  15. Steffard gets removed after completing Kang's final mission
  16. Introducing Ranger, my Energy Blast/Trick Arrow Corruptor. Back on Live (Virtue) Ranger was my very first character. I was lucky enough to get the name back during the recent Name Release.
  17. One of the great things about our game is that there is an abundance of things to do. I often find myself bored with one aspect of the game and then I switch to a different part to change things up. When I get tired of leveling Blueside I switch to Goldside and turn off xp. When I tire of that I farm. Lately I have been working in the costume creator to improve my costume designs. There is so much you can do. Run Goldside content Run Redside content Run Blueside content Run Ouro content Run AE content Run Farm content Badge hunt Base build Craft IOs Play the market Run challenges (no death, brawl only, any other craziness you can think of) Do some PvP Roleplay Remake your build Remake costumes Engage in the forums Theorycraft in Mids Build a spreadsheet (for CoH) Be active on the Help channel Play on a team (instead of solo) Lead a team Beta test ... and finally, make a new Alt I am probably forgetting many other things you can do to change things up. If all else fails, go play something else for awhile. You will return, or not. But we will keep the lights on for you just in case.
  18. Introducing Armory, my new(ish) AR/Dev Blaster
  19. Yeah, that's the ticket!
  20. I do the exact opposite with great success and I know what I am doing because my first MMO was Ultima Online (and then Everquest) in 1998 (a year before you). I also played Pong on an Atari, which is, of course, directly correlated to City of Heroes gameplay (as everyone is well aware)
  21. Iron/Steel Ronin?
  22. Someone just snagged the name Grinch on Excelsior it seems
  23. I have been out of the gaming rig building game for, well, awhile now (my last build was a Core 2 Duo). Lately I have just been cobbling together spare parts to retrofit old Dells but my current PoS has finally died and I have the spousal authorization to purchase a new rig (yay!). I am a diehard Intel/Nvidia fan but thanks to @HyperstrikeI know to steer clear of gen 13/14 Intel CPUs. So I am biting the bullet and going AMD. The rig is going to be used for Gaming (CoH, BG3, and maybe some other AAA titles) and Development (Full Stack), ok mostly gaming . Budget is in the $2-3K range (lower is better). I have only ever air cooled but am open to liquid cooling if deemed necessary. Any suggestions and warnings are appreciated. I'm assuming an AM5 build with a Ryzen 7 or 9 A RTX4070 or better (I don't know Radeons at all) Motherboard? RAM? 3.5" Floppy or a ZIP drive?
